I bought this socket set in 2008 for about $90 after tax and boy was that a steal! I've used the socket set for light duty work thusfar and it has held up fine so I'm glad about that. Only issue I've had is that on more than one occasion have I spilled the sockets out of their holders only to have to spend the time putting them back into their respective places. I also don't understand WHY this set comes with TWO 9/32 deep socket pieces! Yes, TWO, of the EXACT SAME SOCKET! It's even molded into the casing indicating that there should in fact be TWO of this socket included in this kit! Anyway, I'm satisfied with this set ESPECIALLY at the price I paid for them!

What a great set of tools for the price. This 204 pc. Mechanic's Tool Set has 128 metric and standard sockets in 1/4, 1/2 and 3/8 in. drive sizes that are deep well and standard depths..It has 3 quick release ratchets, 21 screwdriver & nutdriver bits, 40 Allen wrenches and 10 wrenches. I wish it had more wrenches but for the price you can't complain. All these tools are in a convient tool box that is molded and labled for each tool that you can pick up and go without having to look for the tools you need. I would recomend this set to any one who works with hand tools.

I bought this for my husband since he did not have a proper tool set. This turned out to be a great gift as well as a beginner tool set. It comes with three wrenches, in many sizes. It has come in handy for myself as well. I used it when I changed the oil in my car and when I replaced the engine belts.

This set has a good selection of 1/2 inch sockets. Too many little sockets are included but all in all a great price for a quality set made in USA.

my set was missing 1 3/8 drive-7/16-shallow-6 point socket, the sears which i bought it from said they coul not order a single socket wich i don't understsand because i've bought single sockets several times from sears. so the ordered a whole new set to replace it.

the 3/8 drive and the 1/4 drive ratchets both seam to have a bad spot in the gears, we'll find out in time if they hold up.

overall im happy with craftsman tools i've bought in the past 30 years. i'm a professional tecnichian and the do the job just as well as snap-on or any of the others.

This is a great set for the value, as long as you get it on sale. It includes all the normal bit sizes with a few obscure ones as well. I haven't had any problems with the quality of the tools and you cant beat the lifetime warranty. It would be nice if it came with more extensions and possibly a magnet tray or other things that would be useful in a mechanics toolset.

Last year I decided to do my own maintenance for my cars after getting bad service from 2 brake chain stores. Before that I had never even done oil changes and did not own a single socket or extensions. After researching on the internet I bought the craftsman 204 pc mechanics toolset when it was on sale. So far I have used this set to do oil changes on my 2 cars, change engine belts etc and love Iove it. The sockets and wrenches are well constructed and the case is a plus. The set comes with 1/4th, 3/8th and 1/2 inch ratches and sockets. This week I am changing the rear differential oil and I cannot wait to use this set to learn how to do new maintenance tasks on my cars.

I bought this set for $99 at the Black Friday sale. This is a nice basic set for the back yard mechanic. The case is sturdy and has held up well, and has space to store additional tools or socket accessories. The ratchets are sturdy (remember folks, ratchet wrenches are not breaker bars!) and the sockets cover most of the average shade tree mechanic's size needs. The set could lose the Allen wrenches in favor of 3//8" 6" & 10" extensions. One downside is that this set is heavy and isn't one you'd throw in the trunk for roadside repairs. As a whole, this set is worth the $$.

I bought this tool set for my boyfriend for Christmas & he absolutely loves it! He uses it everyday to work on his truck. I'm pretty sure it's his favorite gift from me. It has all the neccessities that a mechanic would use on a daily basis. Also, the box itself keeps all the tools organized!

Craftsman Mechanic Tool Set, I just love it. I like everything about it: the size, how it's work, and how it's look. It's portable, durable, it has a special case, so it's great to have it in your trunk. I've got that set 10 years ago, and did not regret, even for one day. Craftsman Tools-it's not a waisting money, it's investing, it has a lifetime waranty, which very convinient, if some of the tools got broken, you can replace it anytime, no question ask. I give this product 4 stars mainly because inside the box, you can barely read the sizes. This is great for a starting foundation on tools. I got this deal for $99. At the same time, the 154 pc set was going for the same price. This is my first tool set. I'm generally happy with it. It does not come fully assembled. Everything comes in it's own bags and you have to organize it into their proper locations. The little numbers on the plastic molding made this process a little harder than it needed to be but in the end, you have a great tool box with some extra space for anything you would would like to add to it. I'd recommend this to all my friends because everything is organized there greatly. Once closed, everything stays in it's exact spot.

Get it, gift it... in the end, you'll or that other person will be happy.

This is another quality tool set I've purchased from sears. With the warranty and the ease of noticing when something is missing from this set there is no reason to have to buy another set. "EVER" I've bought craftsman tools since high school and the only reason (other than buying differnt types) I have had to buy more is me misplacing them. With this set when you complete a project make sure all the holes or filled. If so no tools are left behind. I am sure I will continue to be pleased with this set for years to come and my favorite part. "MADE IN AMERICA"

This is a great tool set for the money. Made in the USA and guaranteed for life.

The finish was very good with the exception of the inside of some sockets and the 1/2" ratchet. The ratchet head was mostly black where it had not been properly polished. Sears exchanged it for a new one with no problem.

The 3/8" ratchet is what I call the short ratchet but Sears calls the standard ratchet. The "long" 3/8" ratchet comes with the 154pc tool sets.

You will need some extensions to go with this set but you should know that because the full tool list is available on the website. Also you will need a set of larger wrenches as the few that comes with this set are rather small.

The case holds everything just fine and nothing moves around if you put everything where it goes. I could not shake anything loose and I tried. Also the case has extra space for whatever extras you might want to add.

Overall this is a great value, recommended.

Upon opening the case of my new tool set, I expected eferything to be in place, but instead everything was in plastic bags. Fortunately, my 14 year old son volunteered to arrange my new tool set for me!! What a great set at an even greater price. Now that we have the tools, he wants me to buy a Muscle Car for us to work on and restore together. Craftsman Tools: Bringing fathers and sons together!
