We have had the mower for about 4 years. The first year we replaced 3 bolts that broke off the machine and a belt. The second year 2 belts. The third year a belt, 4th year a belt. Belts are like $60 each. This time the mower has sheared a bolt and now the blades wont engage. Currently trying to fix the problem, found out it has to do with the PTO clutch/pulley assembly, sigh. So now we are going to try and figure out how to fix this problem Additionally, the tires spin when using small-radius turns and the muffler gets so hot it melts the rubber of the cables near it. Now when you put the turning arms out to park it (while just running the mower, not the blades) the mower wont stay put. It continually moves, so there is no stopping it by pushing the arms out to the side, you just have to shut it off. Furthermore the grass likes to fly up into your face while you are mowing from the front of the mower, a different design would have fixed this problem. Right now, not happy. Overall......

The tires spin so much that I can't make good turns, let alone zero turn radius turns.

The mulching kit is an add on... and it doesn't work well. Mulching is poor at best, then turns terrible as your blades dull.

Frankly, I wish I had spent more and bought a **********.
...

I recognized that a lot of people could not purchase the blades but I found that if you look online by your model number and go into the type of mower deck you have, you can find the replacement blades quite easily. It does look like they messed up when making the manual because there is an A between the numeric portion and the Alpha portion according to the breakdown online vs. the breakdown in my manual. Just a useful tip....

We purchased the 50" ZTR Mower 3 months ago. Initially, we were very pleased with the mowing experience. The problem came when we needed new blades. Sears does not carry them and evidently can not or will not find them for their customers! I made them sell me the blades off the demo on the floor. I agree the blades do wear out quickly. The mower isn't very good without them. Until they learn to stock required parts, I do not recommend buying this mower....

Good Machine, cut my cut times by 1/3. But I cut my grass once a week and this thing goes through a fifty dollar set of blades just about as fast as it does gas. Make sure you grease the front end at least every 4 cuts and pack it good. It is kind of a pain to change the blades, the machine doesn't "stand up" all that great. If you sears store assembles the machine, recheck all the bolts holding up the deck, I lost a couple of them after the first cut and one side of the deck fell. Haven't had to call for any service yet (had it 6 months)....

So I buy the zero turn, I'm happy as a clam. BUT all is not well in zero turn land. Shortly after getting the tractor I need a new blade! Oh-NO! I think. What will I do? "It's okay", my beautiful wife, Stevena says. "Just go to your local Sears store and purchase a new blade". Yay! I think. As quickly as I was angry, I was happy. My Zero turn and I would be B.F.F.'s again!!! So I go to my local Sears store to purchase a blade, when I get greeted by the greatest store employee ever, Robert. "How can I help you" He asks. "Well..." I explain that I need a new blade. But no, the blades I yearned for were not to be found at the Sears store. "GASP!" I gasped aloud. "What shall I do?" "It's okay" Robert Replied, "We can look online and get them" "HORRAY!!!" I screamed, so loud even that other customers glanced my way.

But long story short they didn't have them online either....

I've had the mower for a couple months now and have put over 12 hours with no problems. It was hard to decide which brand to buy .Everything I mow is on flat ground with lots of bushes and trees so I don't have the strain of slopes. So far it's been real fun> I now mow my neighbors yards just for the fun of it and for the stress release. No doubt the zero turn is the way to go ....

A lot of money for a broken machine.
This mower has bean broken more than it has been useable. I do not know if this is just my machine or the whole line, but I would never recommend this even to my worst enemy.
Belts brake constantly, it takes two to five weeks fo rservice to come out and fix the issue at hand. Customer service is of no real help and the warranty will not raplace the machine until it is irreplaceable, which never really happens.
Please, do your due dilligence before buying this mower!!...

I looked and looked at Zero Turn mowers for months before finally deciding on the Craftsman ZTS. I'm very happy with the purchase to this point. It is extremely quick and easy to handle. The only draw back I have at this point, is I wish the seat had more cushion and better springs. It does a great job of cutting our 5 acres....

I purchased my mower in 10/06. It took a little getting used to, very responceive. I have 3 acres to mow and it's cut my mowing time from 4 hrs to 2 hrs.
This season I'm having some problems with the engine cutting out and back firing. I've had the service tech out once and he'll be coming back out. Hopefully he'll get the problem fixed. Other than this problem I really like my mower ( purchase the extended warrranty, repairs can get exspencive ).
After the mower is repaired I'm sure it will be a 5 star across the board....

I look at so many lawn tractors. From Toro's to Gravely's. The Craftsman quick radius lawn tractor has the best built, easiest to use,
and best looking lawn tractor available on the market. I studied the others for about 2 weeks, never found one with everything I was looking for. Almost bought one of those because I was tired of looking. Then I decided to check out the craftsman. And boy,
was I glad I did. It had everything I was looking for, from a wide 50 inch cut, controls at my finger tips, easy start (even a woman can start it, main thing I was looking for), sharp turning, great power, looks good, to the dependability of a great warranty. Made me feel good as well as confident that I had made the right purchase. Best part of all was my Husband agreed!...

WHAT A MACHINE! It's like having a lawn type 3-D video game!
I have to admit that even though I have had past experience with a ZTR, I had completely forgotten how to drive one. It took some getting used to and it felt like when I first learned to drive a car... tense. The machine is VERY reactive, but you learn quickly that you have to guide it and not manhandle it.
I have 2 acres with a bit over 1 in grass area. It used to take 2.5 hours, with all the obsticals, to cut my lawn and I did it, for the first time mind you, in 1.33 hours AND that was with a bathroom break in there. I can only imagine once I really get the hang of it how it will improve.
The machine can do some hills too with the torque of the motor and drives. I went up a steep hill (@30 degrees) with little drop in speed and under cutting load.
I'm a die-hard (no pun intended) Craftsman Tool / Equipment man and this just adds to my confidence. The bigger your yard, the more benefit you will get out of a machine like this.......
