Read the bad reviews, I didn't have the problems others wrote in their reviews. Put it together, mixed the right amount of fuel, primed it, pulled cord a few times - didn't start, realized I didn't depress the on button. Depressed the on button and started first pull. Did a lot of pre trimming, turned it off to move a bench and wheel barrow - then restarted it and finished up my trimming. Works better and faster than my other two weed trimmers - one is gas (Green color) and the other is Sears electric.

Considering all the reviews - I am thankful that I didn't have any problems.
...

dhoolwerf says "Excellent weedwacker" about Craftsman 25 cc Gas Line Trimmer

I bought this model in 2003 and have used it weekly from early May through October for the past 7.5 years. I've never cleaned the air filter, changed the spark plug, adjusted the carburetor, or given it any care and attention whatsoever. I have only added fuel and trim line as necessary, and this unit has never failed me. Most years, I haven't even bothered to drain the fuel or add fuel stabilizer at the end of the season.

It finally died a couple weeks ago. The two fuel lines rotted and broke, resulting in the pickup falling off in the bottom of the tank. This is an easy fix - the fuel lines (one large diameter and one small diameter) are available for $4.19 each at the Sears Repair Center. I will pick them up this week, and while I'm at it, will replace the plug and clean the filter. Then I should be good to go for another 7 or 8 years.

This weedwacker is a steal at $60! I have never found it lacking in power, it's lightweight and easy to manoeuver, and not too loud,...
...

I like the trimmer except that the motor seems to be located a little too close to the handle for my liking. I am 6 foot tall, so maybe this would be OK for shorter people. It starts easy and trims very well. I still have to get use to flipping it from trimmer to edger, never had one like this before. It is a nice feature since I do more edging than trimming. The self feeding line is what I like the best. No more tapping! This trimmer is not too heavy, but seems to be built well. The price was very good. I looked at a lot of trimmers and asked a lot of questions before settling on this one. i am happy with it so far.
...

Unit is light weight and versitile with the edger attachment - Unit is under powered for the edger and the replacement unit I received would only run while the choke was in the ON position. Even at high RPM's, the unit would bog-down when using the edger. Took more time to do the small job but with a bit of patience it did do the job - It currently is in Sears' repair shop for evaluation.

The trimmer works well for use as a trimmer; light weight and manuverable, but would suggest getting a more powerful unit if you were going to use for larger "edging" jobs.
...

jmaldonadojr says "Craftsman 25 cc line trimmer isup to the challenge" about Craftsman 25 cc Gas Line Trimmer

I bought this line trimmer in march and have used it now for about 2-1/2" months and i must say have been quite suprised to its abilities. It starts realativily easily no more than 5 pulls ever and cuts quite well. the hassle free line feed actually feeds quite well and have had no problem with the line sticking or dispensing, i love the fact that it is a no "bump" design and can get quite a bit of work done without any problem. I do grounds mainentance for an apartment complex and have used this little homeowner grade trimmer with absolutley no problem. Edging is extremely easy with the twist function and provides less strain and fatigue compared with edging with other line trimmers. This little trimmer cuts through grass easily even at slow idling speeds without even giving it some throttle. However it does require a bit more power to cut through thicker vegetation, but i would definitily recommend this to any average homeowner, I use this trimmer more than 40 hrs per month
...

This is the 1st Craftman line trimmer I've bought, and I will never buy another. I have used it three times so far, I just recently purchased it. It takes a good half hour to get it started as it floods very easily. I got blisters on my hands from trying to start it? It only has one string instead of a dual line trimmer. It has an auto line feeder so you go thru line very quickly. Whatever position I store it in I come back to a puddle of fuel, it stinks up my whole garage. It's cheap, but it's a piece of ****. I guess you get what you pay for. I expected better from the Craftsman name.
...

It worked ok for the 1st season but at the begining of the second season it stopped running so I used my old trimmer until i got a chance to look at it. I fould that the fuel lines deteriorated and disconected inside the fuel tank. When I asked the sears service guy if this is a common problem he said he has seen the problem alot but if he was to look at it it would cost me $55-85 or more. The trimmer was $125 brand new. He told me I should do the math. Now I have a 1 season old craftsmann string trimmer heading for the landfill. It's not your fathers Craftsmann anymore .There was a time that the name meant something different..I will buy a new one but not a Craftsmann.
...
