what do you do with a floor jack after the seals leak and it cannot lift after a couple of years? My last jack lasted for more than 15 years. I thought I would "upgrade" to a low profile and wound up with low quality crap. Wish I coudl get the old one back.

I finaly brought myself to buy a new jack after using an old, worn out jack. Now I know what I have been missing out on! I found a great deal when I bought this jack and I am very pleased!

I cannot speak for others here and my experience is not the same.

My jack is 2 years old, and I use it every 3 months or so. I have had no problems with it and like the jack.

It is of some concern that it cannot be repaired, but it has not let me down and works as expected whenever I pull it out. It lifts my Super Crew F150 front end with no problems, and holds the load with no noticable fade (I still use jack stands).

I am a little surprised at the experience other have had. I will pay attention more closely to the jack as a result.

I have owned one for just over a year, and have had to warranty it once already. The rear wheel caster bearing fell apart. It lifts nearly everything, but it lifts slowly once it reaches the lifting point. This is a drag because it takes longer to lift something then it should.

Started leaking oil 13 months after I bought it. DO NOT BUY THIS JACK!! Sears does not offer a rebuild kit, just a replacement hydrolic mechanism that is $$

Does the handle bar pop up on it's own? If so, the check valve is faulty. Right out of the box! I wish I had read reviews before buying it. It would have saved me gas since I went to return it immediately after I had opened it at home.

They even added a "safety" feature for when the check valve fails; there are 2 metal studs that will stop the bar from coming all the way up to smash your face when it fails. Can't even store your jack because of this "feature." A Mickey Mouse fix to prevent a lawsuit.

We have an identical jack bought many years ago. They don't make them like they used to. This one was made in China. The older one was made in USA.

Same as everyone else. Owned it about 18 months and used maybe 15 times and now it doesn't work. It stated leaking oilnafter the first few uses.

I have owned and personally used many floor jacks during my 35 year automotive repair history, and the craftsman 4 ton floor jack is the worst I ever owned. I bought it new at Sears, used it approx 6 times, and it started developing "leak-down" in the piston pump which has only gotten worse to the point that I can't use it anymore. I contacted Sears and they said ot was off warranty and therefor I was out of luck getting it repaired through warranty. Save your money....anything is better than this one!

Same as everyone else. Owned for approx. 16 months. Started oil leak. Lifting standard small car, something such as a seal,etc. "popped" and hasn't worked right since. I replace a 15+ yr. old ************** jack with this one just to update...BIG mistake. Going back to H.F.

SEARS I am done spending money with you.

I've had this jack for almost 16 months now. This particular one was the third return of the same jack! Each one I returned had the same issue: it leaks oil and can't sustain a load for longer than 10 minutes. I have a Honda Civic that I use this jack to perform oil changes on. I've used this one maybe 8 times, and it has just started leaking oil like the previous 3. It also came with a twisted (warped) frame out of the box, so only 3 of the 4 wheels touch the ground! I am a huge fan of most of Craftsman's tools, but I will never purchase another Craftsman floor jack, and I wouldn't recommend anyone else to either. These things are not only poorly constructed and engineered, but they are also dangerous! It also only has a one year warranty. This is the first one I've had that lasted longer than a year, but now I'm screwed because the warranty is expired.

The 4 ton auto jack works great. I just wish the online store would take care of business like you did at Sears \. My son brought a tool set on Friday the 19 2010 and they said it would take approximately 2hours on the next business day and as of right now they just say in processing So much for two hours. WARNING !! Do not buy this like I did. It is a great jack when new, will lift anything, I loved it. Then it started to leak right after the warranty ran out. No problem right, get the repair kit and fix it. THERE IS NO REPAIR KIT !!!! But you can buy a new hydraulic ram for $101.00 !!! I think not.

As far as I'm concerned I was ripped off by Sears. I've been buying Craftsman tool for decades and never ran into any garbage like this.

Made in China ! I should have known.

Many have already reported just how ****** this floor jack is, I am only writing to add more support that this jack is, indeed, a POS.

I bought this jack in a package with two lightweight POS jack stands for about $150-160. I used the jack over a period of about 1 1/2 years before the valve seals blew. I would say I used it maybe 20-30 times doing common home mechanic tasks such as lifting mowers, 4-wheelers, and oil changes and tire rotations on vehicles. Of course, it is only warrantied for a year IF you have your receipt.

If this jack hasn't gone bad for you yet, you either do not use it much, or do not lift much. I generally like Craftsman tools, but have learned my lesson on jacks. I am going shopping for a jack today; it definitely won't be a Craftsman

Craftsman 4 ton professional floor jack - I had the same problem - $150 for "Craftsman's BEST Floor Jack" LIE I have had the jack less than a year - I know it was a birthday present just had BDAy of course no receipt. I had replaced it once because the back wheel wasn't moving and now the new one leaked - They couldn't help - so much for standing behind the great craftsman name they have built LIE. No parts or fix available another LIE - service what we sell. - I had the service center look to see my buying record and 34 big items - I am done with buying Sears and Craftsman products - I would like to hear from everyone with this problem and file a complaint with the Federal Consumer Safety Commission - would you want to crawl under a car with a jack that can just fail???

I have read all the reviews and will say that I have never had a problem with mine. Had it for a few years - used maybe 10 times by me and borrowed it to others several times. I can lift the whole side of my Honda Ridgeline at once - makes rotating tires a snap!
