This tank is exactly what I was looking for. I needed an air tank to fill up low tires on vehicles that I needed to either get home or to the tire store for slow leak repairs. The tank held enough air to fill 4 - 17" tires (starting pressure of 15 PSI, ending pressure 32 PSI). The tank was easy to fill, transport, and use. The instructions were simple and easy to understand. In addition, I was pleased with the flexibility of the air hose.
...

Similar to other reviewers, mine holds air just fine. Filled it up and left it for over a week with no loss in pressure. Yup, the integrated hose and air chuck is cheap. My gauge is off a bit also.

Wasn't impressed with Sear's offerings for replacement hoses and there's not much elsewhere either. Great stuff online but the shipping made it crazy to buy. So, settled for a 1/4" Ampro and HD's packet of air chuck, nozzle and connections. Now, it's a useful little item. I wish it was 7 gal. also. A little bit bigger would be nice.

Mine came with a lot of slag and solder bits inside. Because of a lip on the inside of tank's port, you can't just shake stuff out. I took the valve off and taped a magnet to the end of along screwdriver and pulled out a LOT of junk! Solder splatter, MIG wire and tons of little metal bits that would plug the valve if the tank was upside down so that they could fall into the valve.
...

Everything attached to this tank works, but is cheap. The "valve" is plastic. The gauge is not very accurate, and the hose is short and poorly made.

That said, its convenient to have this around and mine holds air just fine. All I did was remove the hose and install a quick connect so I can use my regular air hoses with it. I don't have to touch the valve and the tank works great. It hold air for long periods of time, I've had mine full for 3 weeks now without so much as a psi lost.

FYI: you fill this tank as you would a tire, so it can be easily filled at the gas station. If you plan to fill it with your own compressor, make sure your tire filler doesn't have a simple regulator built into it, as some do. Mine stopped filling around 50psi, and it took me a minute to figure out why.
...

I bought one of these Craftsman 5 gallon air tanks before I got into a full blown compressor. During those days I was suffering from multiple flat tires and often would be in remote places when they were discovered. I would swing into the gas station and fill the tank and keep it in the truck for need.

Today the tank has been relegated to a garage life. With the 135 psi capacity the tank can air car tires but is mostly used for the wheelbarrow tire and neighborhood bicycle fixes. Ocassionally I need to blow something off which is mostly "me" after cutting on the table saw.

This tank is handy and will do many things for you and for the price is hard to argue.
...

Sears says that this has a 1 year warranty and is not eligible for replacement.

First of all, the first one I purchased in the store had a leaking valve. Sears replaced it no questions asked. So I already own a Craftsman air compressor that i love. I'm just tired of dragging it out every time i need a little air so I thought this would be perfect. While its great for topping off tires and filling balls, it does not have the capacity to fill up larger items like inflatables. I suppose the first clue should be that it comes with a tire chuck already installed. I immediately replaced it with a quick release so I could attach other items to it. I will probably use it for my nail gun when I need something portable and maybe for blowing out computers and stuff. So I think for the price it's worth it as long as you know it's limitations.
...
