I read the other reviews about the wheel adjustment problem but it sounded like my old Craftsman so I bought it anyway. I have had no trouble with the adjustments. Out of the box it started quickly and mowed and mulched my lawn nicely. I piled up some leaves and it mulched those too. It does everything I want it to so I am quite happy. The rear wheels do not appear to be as strong as my old mower and may fail but they are o.k. so far. I would recomend this machine to anyone. I had my other Craftsman 7 years before the engine failed. I would have cost half as much to repair it as to buy a new one, so I did. I hope this one does as well as my old one....

It works and runs fine. The biggest issue is that the high rear wheels are a bit flimsy and I worry they're going to break off every time I turn a corner. If I had it to do again, I'd save a little money and go with the regular size rear wheels. At least they'd be more solid....

I only used this mower once. The height adjustment would just drop down in the middle of mowing. It would not stay on the level where I would put it.

I returned it to Sears. The salesman was very rude when he found out I bought this mower online. He said they don't earn commision on online sales so there wasn't much he could do to help me.

I looked at other mowers but all the Sears mowers have the same height adjustment mechanism. I purchased another mower elsewhere....

I can't believe that this is a Sears product. I kept having to reset the front wheels as they kept slipping. There were blade marks in my grass when I stopped to empty the bag. The rear wheels are bent which makes the mower hard to go in a straight line. Please don't waste your money on this mower. I will be taking mine back tomorrow as this is the first time I used it, bought it last weekend....

Many of the reviewers seem to be upset with the cutting height adjustment on this mower. This has been a problem on craftsman mowers for many years. There is however a very simple fix and that is connect the two adjustment brackets togeter with "shock cord".
This increases the tension on the brackets to better hold them in place. There is even a hole provided on the bracket for the hook on the shock cord.
This is my fourth Craftsman mower
and none of them owed me anything when they were retired....

This is a good mower for the money. I even bought a second one for my father-in-law. My only two complaints are that #1. the charger wire is too thin & fragile (separated from plug within one season), and #2. the front-drive does not work as well as a rear-drive on slopes. Otherwise, it's a good buy. LOVE the electric starter!!!...

Cranks fine , but nothing special that sets it apart from any other models. The wheel adjusters keep popping out of place. Too much trouble to return. I will avoid craftsman next time....

Two broken belts so far, now the machine has a fuel line blockage, which means another return because I can't fix it. The machine is a nice fit for taller folks, and when it runs, it's great. It just isn't dependable. I get two mowings then the belt breaks or tangles or whatever. Now this (blockage). A manual and keeping it spotless might help, but even that is no guarantee for this machine with a mind of its own. Two weeks left on the warranty....

Bought at Sears 9/06. Worked great, no problems until it stopped running 7/08 (after only 2 Buffalo, NY summers of use.. which is about 10 months total). Still under 2yr manuf warranty. After about 90mins of phone calls, was told to take the broken mower to a non-existant repair center in downtown Buffalo, which closed down years ago, but Sears apparently had not updated their system. After 2 hours of driving to and from this closed down facility, and another hour of phone calls/sitting on hold, finally told to take back to the store I bought it from (which was another hour of driving with a dirty broken mower bouncing around in the back of my fiancee's brand new vehicle). 2 weeks later I got the mower back, and it is still not working. the engine runs at about half power, and stalls as soon as you hit any uncut grass, and takes about 5 pulls to restart. called back into sears "customer service", lady told me couldnt help me, xfered me to "rebate center", they said they couldnt help me,......

I like everything about this mower, for the price, it does what I expedted it to. It starts easily, self propell makes a big difference. The only challenge I have is the front wheels pop out of the setting if one snags on anything, damp soil, tree root, frustrating to have to stop and reset....

Returned this mower after 1 mowing. The front two wheels would not stay put in the height adjustment slots. Salesman was understanding about the return. He did not try to charge me a restocking fee. Besides that failure, I really didn't like the mower anyway. I'm a mulcher. Trying to cram 3 functions into 1 mower is too much. I got a lot of clumping of grass. I would suggest buying the gray model (self propelled) built strictly for mulching. We have a similar model, at a relatives, with the big rear wheels (no longer made!!!!!) that has performed perfectly the past 3 years....

I came online looking for instructions on how to change the oil on this mower. I bought it about a year ago and have had no problems. I fill it full of gas, run it empty, refill, rinse, repeat. I will keep my eyes out on the front wheels slipping but I've not had them slip in a year of mowing a solid 1/3rd acre. I'd recommend it....

I have had this model of lawnmower for almost two years. It is a great mower. The mower has shown to be durable, smooth, and a workhorse. It starts everytime on the first try, the self-propell feature works great, and the different attachments work well also. I do recommend cleaning the mower underneath the deck. It is possible to get grass stuck in the self-propell area. If you keep this clean and clear, you will get plenty of use out of it. Also, keep your blade sharp. True, this mower has plenty of power, but sharpening the blade will make things go that much quicker and effortless. With very little upkeep, this mower is going to last for years. Great job Craftsman!...
