It needs more power, not good hard woods. The price is why I bought this tool and the brand made the difference. If you are cutting alot of soft to medium woods this is the right tool. This is the circular saw when buying your first one or not wanting to spend alot of money.... It just says that it has a powerful motor. Also, I would like to see more info listed specifically as safety features. No one wants to buy an item that could be dangerous and first time circular saw buyers and users want to know that the product is made with their safety in mind. I love the Craftsman label and I also wonder if there is a Craftsman guarantee on this product anything like that of the Craftsman tools such as socket sets, wrenches, and vise grips....
