Ease of use is great, along with the added laser. It is a little heavier than some models, but does not come off the cut line as easily as others. Very sturdy and strong. I use this saw everyday. On mine the the laser beam did not align with the blade very well - but not having used one before it was no big deal. The shoe is a different mater. It's a steel stamping wich results in a rounded edge on the side of the shoe that does not track along a thin straight edge Otherwise I like it.... So far, no complaints! It rips (and cross-cuts!) through 2x4s, 2x6s, 4x6s, and more with hardly a slow-down. I haven't experienced a seize or kickback yet. It's really a pleasure to use, but is a bit heavy. The laser guide tops off a great saw.... I didn't think much of the laser when I bought it (could take it or leave it) but it makes a straight cut so much simpler. Just keep the laser inline with your mark, as easy as that. It cuts through all types of wood with ease. I am very pleased with this saws performance. Combine that with the low price, and it is an unbeatable value.... With the right jig setup it looked as if it had been cut with a table saw. The saw was very powerful and very accurate. I love craftsman tools and I use them everyday.
