I could feel the diffrence between the cheaper pliers and the Craftsman pliers. These felt very soild, and sturdy. I had no problem with them sliping when using them. Very good tool. It was tempered martensite throughout the entire pair of pliers. Very good. It means it was heat treated. These pliers also conform to the ASME pliers design standard (B107.20-2004) and testing standard (B107.25-2002)... good pliers....
