My experience in ordering the bagger on-line for pickup later the same day was excellent. It took about 30 minutes or so ( my wife helped) to assemble and start using it. It worked very nicely for picking up leaves, although it takes a few minutes to get used to the bag full indicator. This is the best $349 I ever spent. No more leaves to rake!!...

WOW!!!! I have hated raking leaves my whole life, and at 53 I finally decided enough. I had bought an L2000 tractor in the spring , so this fall I sprang for the 3 bin hard bagger.
I can't beleive I let $1350.00 between the tractor, & bagger make me do all that hard work for so long. I kinda enjoyed mowing this summer, and than here came the leaves, well this deal makes clean up easy! I did my front yard on one dump, back on two. Now thats me dragging a tarp of leaves30-40 trips. I heavily reccommend you buy one, and watch out the window as your neighbors spend a whole weekend cleaning, and the following week recupirating from back strain!
You will not regret this buy, although you may resent waiting so long! LOVE MINE...

4 years ago we moved into our home with a half acre wooded lot. For the past 4 years I have used a blower and rake to clear the leaves in the fall. Each time it would take me 3 evenings after work to do the whole yard, only to have to redo it all over again 5-6 more times before the last leaf fell. This year I said enough. I went online, where I found this beauty on sale. It is the best decision I ever made!!! When I got it home I had it hooked up and ready to go within 15 minutes. I had the entire half acre lot cleared in under an hour and a half! Plus I didn't feel like someone had just put me through a meat grinder. The only time the chute clogged was when I let it go too long before emptying-and even then it literally took 10 seconds to clear out! I'm definitely glad I went with the hard bins-no dust and easy to empty. I have had no problem with the bins filling as mentioned by another review. After fighting with my lawn for the last four years-I now actually enjoy clearing up the leaves!......

I purchased the 3-bin bagger and absolutely love the way it cleans the clippings in my yard. I am female and it was simple to assemble & attach to my mower. I think choosing the "hard" bagger was a good idea. The mesh bins would be too flimsy to handle when full and might rip & tear. I give this product a 5 star rating!!!...

Used it for the first time last night and it worked fine. No problem with assembly, only took 15 minutes. I have about 2/3 of an acre and had to unload 3 times but the lawn looks great. It did leak a little grass around the tube leading into the hopper, but a little adjustment fixed that. I am very happy with it....

I gave this 4 stars. It would have received 5 but there are a few problems. As others have mentioned the rubber piece holding the two pieces of the chute together attaches on one end to a metal stud. This stud is nothing more than a screw and it came loose and popped off after the first few uses. I was able to fix it with a larger washer but clearly this wasn't thought out well. Secondly, the weight of the chute rests on the right side of the deck and with my mower this results in a slightly lower cut on the right side.
Others have mentioned the chute clogging. I experience this when I get to the thick bladed weeds. The majority of my lawn is fine bladed grass but I do have some "junk" in the back area. Cutting dry is key regardless of grass type but even thick/tall grass that is dry will clog the chute. When I get to this area I tend to cut with 1/2-2/3 of the mower width to reduce clogging.
Aside from those issues, this unit has held up. I only noticed these reviews when I was checking......

Well to start off, the idea of having a lawn tractor self bagging system sounds wonderful, especially with a huge lawn. The major problem I'm having is that the grass keeps getting caught in the shoot and I have to stop all the time to clean it out, a huge inconvenience and yes my lawn is dry, I'm using lift cutting blades not mulching. I'm having to stop watering 3 days before I mow just to help remedy the situation, but that only allows the sun to scorch my lawn. I'm very dissatisfied with this product. The helpers in the sears garden section don't have very good answers to my dilemna so what am I to do? It's a hardship on me (disability) having to rake the yard when you pay so much money for a mowing system that's supposed to do it for you. Hmmmm...

I use my lawn tractor for an easy one acre lawn around my home. This bagger was easy and very functional, but it only lasted 10 months. The plastic lid cracked around the latch handle opening device and eventually cracked in half like an egg. Do not know if the manufacturer had a bad batch of plastic making it particularly brittle? Store would not do an exchange return because more than 30 days. Customer Service would not provide a credit to exchange. Customer Service trying to get the manufacturer (Craftsman) to honor a one year warranty....

I bought this attachment with my new Craftsman GT5000 tractor and have been very satisfied with its performance. Using this bagging attachment, my lawn looks clean and well-manicured after every cutting, and I no longer have to rake up my cuttings. My 3 acre lawn has a lot of areas that require trimming around shrubs and other obstacles, and driving with this bagging attachment requires caution because of its width. Once the operator gets used to the extra width, though, there is no problem in maneuvering close to trees, shrubs, etc. I leave the upright supports for the attachment permanently mounted to my tractor, but remove the bins and top part of the bagger after every use. Because of that practice, I found it convenient to add a trailer towing bracket to the frame of my tractor, which I fabricated using a piece of 2" angle iron. This allows me to have a ball hitch mounted on my tractor at the same time that the bagging attachment is in place. My only problems with the bagging attachment......

I like the fact that it can be taken off easily and quickly when I need to pull my sprayer across the yard. I would recommend this bagger to anyone with a 42" tractor....

THE LEFT BIN FILLS UP FIRST, THEN THE MIDDLE, THEN THE RIGHT. THE WHEEL STOPS SPINNING AND IT'S TIME TO EMPTY THE BINS.I LOVE THE HARD BINS THEY ARE EASY TO EMPTY. AFTER THE GRASS SEASON IT GET'S ANOTHER FULL WORKOUT WITH MULCHING UP THE LEAVES HERE IN THE NORTHEAST. IT TRULY WORKS GREAT.
This bagger did not do the job. The bins are way to small. When the indicator stopped spinning, it was time to empty the bins. I lifted the top so I could empty them. The middle bin was over filled, while the left bin was about 1/2 full, and the right bin had hardly any grass in it. The chute was packed full from top to bottom. I had to take the two sections of the chute apart to get the grass out. Tried it again, and had the same results. Took it off, cleaned it up, put it back in the box, and returned it. It did not perform like I thought it would, very disappointed with this bagger. Also the chute did not fit tight to the deck. This allowed grass clippings to hit the outside of the chute, which in turn blew up and covered me in clippings. I also did not get the bagger that was pictured. This one had a flat top. The pictured one has a sloped top. Maybe the sloped top works better. Sorry Sears, this is not one of your better attachments. I replaced it with the 42 inch high speed sweeper,......

I mow two acres and I bag the grass every time I mow. I bought this unit but after 1 and a half Summer's use it has basically fallen apart. There are minimal welds on the area where the arms that hold the bags attach to the unit that bolts onto the back of the tractor. After bouncing around for a Summer or two with the weight of the bags of grass on the back the welds fail. You first notice the top will not stay latched on the buckets keep falling off the back and dumping the grass on the lawn. Closer inspection will reveal the welds have broken causing a great deal of movement and flex which pops the top off the end of the arms and buckets fall off. The collection chute attaches poorly to the mower deck and shuffles out of place. It does tend to clog and the wheel that is suppose to show you when the bags are full stops spinning randomly when the bads are not full. The plastic buckets also fail with repeated use. The top portion of the bucket, which you have to assemble when you get it,......

I borrowed my father-in-laws 2-bin hard bagger and I was hooked. I got the 3-bin hard bagger and have used it for the past 3 years. I fill these bins up 50 to 75 times per year, and it's still going strong. For leaf bagging, I go over everything with the mulching cover on and the deck set high to chop everything up, then go over it with the bagger with the deck set pretty low. It cleans like a vacuum. I couldn't live without it!...

First of all, mine does not have the sloping top (as pictured). Took about 20 minutes to install. Looks good and fits good on mower.
Did not leave any clippings (bermuda grass) on my 1/3 acre lawn. I'm using standard blades that are about 3 years old. I needed to use my trailer so I removed the bagger (except chute) in about 30 seconds. Only small issues were 1. the little air-flow wheel stops on it's own and must be flicked. 2. The left-most bin overflows before the right-most bin gets 1/2 full. These are nothing compared to raking my lawn. Best fathers day gift to date!!!...
