Pretty good bagger. I can't give 5 stars because 1 hour into using for the first time the rubber strap that holds the two piece shute together broke. I think its a good idea but for it to break first time out of the box sucks. I mow mine and my neighbors yard and together its about 2 acres of grass and a ton of leaves in the Fall The capacity is great so less stops to dump saves a lot of time. It empties very easy and quickly. It does have a little spinning gage on the shute that shows when the bags are full and it is just useless it doesn't spin full, empty with grass going up the shute or not, I think it just for looks. You just have to get off and check from time to time to get a good idea of when to stop and empty. Over all I like the unit Sometimes things just break its an easy fix with a zip tie.
...

Although I didn't use it all the time, because I usually use mulching blades, it held up well this year. I noticed as others did the indicator doesn't start moving until the bags are full, funny oversight on the instructions. I actually like that this mostly plastic as this means less weight on the lawn. Definitely have to use with proper blades. I tried with mulching blades after grass got too long and the thing clogged up constantly, not enough discharge. Second time grass got to long I went back to the original blades and didn't have any problems. Similar moisture on the ground both times.
...

This bagger does a good job, would prefer to have hard nylon/plastic baggers. The problem with this bagger is the tractor seat is in the way when opening the top of the bagger, so the top/lid will not stay open and is this way with the seat all the forward. Might be able to tip the seat forward before opening the bagger lid....

I researched this purchase thoroughly. I read reviews on other baggers about how difficult they were to put together and how the driver would be covered in dust and that you couldn't use the drink holder on the drivers side due to amount of dust. Well you can forget those problems. I am 64 years young and it took me about 5 mins. to remove 2 screws and replace with mounting screws furnished in kit. Another 2 mins. and I had the bagger mount on the garden tractor. I lifted the bag holder and hood onto the bagger mount , about 1 min. and put the 3 bags onto the bagger. Another 2 mins. and I had the deflector and the shute attached. The seal around the chute seals perfectly, no dust escapes!!!

I realized that my deck was not perfectly level now, because the clippings would mask that imperfection.... I leveled my mower deck. My lawn has never looked so nice!
...

The bagged was so freaking easy to install. It fit together like a glove and it was snug on the deck. The design is great and so easy to empty bags and put back. Don't be fooled, get the 9 bushel or 3 bagged rather than the 2 bagged. The extra capacity is great and you can go that extra yard. I am so glad I spent the money and a little extra for this bagged. It is great!...

I installed today and it worked great! Setup was a breeze and it looks great on the mower.

Some improvements can be made however...

1. There needs to be a hitch attached to the bagger assembly.

2. It would be 10 times better if they had a 1 bin system with a dumping feature. Much easier to empty and less time consuming.

If those two thing were changed on the bagger I think it would be the best out there. Theres not much more you can ask for.
...

Bought this bagger because I have a large yard that seems to grow faster than normal. It was very easy to install and works great. My only complaint would be that if you are not paying attention and you let the bags overfill just a little, the bagger will start to clog. But, if you pay attention and not let the bags get too full, then you won't have any problems. It was easy to unclog when I needed to though. I would definitely recommend this product and I would advise consumers to stay with the three bin for the added capacity.
...

I received and installed my Model No. 917.249040 Craftsman 9 bushel 3-Bin Soft Bagger for 46 in. Deck yesterday. It was easy to assemble. I like the Support Assembly setup. It makes the unit much easy to remove or re-install as needed. I was a little wary of the soft bags on the unit since I had full plastic bags on my last bagger. I found the soft bags to actually be eaiser to empty. I filled 8, 45 gallon trash bags with small oak leaves. I don't have an area to dump leaves so they have to be bagged. This is the main reason I chose the Bagger instead of a sweeper.
With my old unit I could hook up a trailer after removing the bins but the Cover assembly blocked part of the trailer. I will have to remove the bagger now, but because of the new setup that will not be labor intensive.
There is no front latch holder on the T4000 that I have so I just connect to the mower frame without problem.
Overall I think the unit is excellent....

This is the only bagger I've ever purchased, assembled and mounted, but it was a breeze. I really like the soft bins a lot more than I thought I would. They are light weight and have a handle on the bottom, making it very easy to empty them out.

The middle bin will normally fill up first, but when it does, I just swap it with the most empty bin and keep on mowing. As I've seen in most other bagger reviews, the little spinning wheel that's supposed to let you know if the thing is full or not is useless, but other than that, this is a pretty good product.

The biggest con I have for ALL of the various baggers is the cost. It's basically all plastic and definitely does not warrant a price tag of almost $400.
...

I bought the 2 bin and returned it immediately once I saw how small the bins were and decided to spring for the 3 bagger. Assembly and mounting was a piece of cake. I lines the bins with bags for easier disposa. I have yet to find optimal conditions for this to work 100%. It seems to clog very easily on our thick fescue yard. As others note the left two bins fill first. I usually mulch and have mulching blades on the tractor so maybe that has something to do with it. I am really waiting to see how it does with leaves this fall...
...

I really liked the bagger it was easy to assemble and great when using it. Took a lot of grass and leaves to fill it up. The only part that I did not like is that there was not a hitch attach to the bagger assembly. You have to use the existing hitch to put on the assembly so instead of just taking off the bags to use my cart, I have to take off the whole assembly for the bags. Next time add another hitch on the assembly.
...

Buying this, I knew the capacity still would not be enough for the 1 acre yard I have as I have to empty this bagger frequently. But, it is a lot cheaper than buying a yard vac and easier to install and use than a yard vac. At first the plastic that makes up this unit feels light and gives me the feeling that I am going to break it, but it is durable enough so far, probably because I am careful with the unit. Sometimes getting the chute to fit over the opening of the mower deck can be tricky with the deflector springing down in your way, but it really is not that bad.

Unfortunately, the bag closest to the opening for the chute does not really fill up when the other 2 bags are full because the chute has to extend far enough so that the grass can reach the bag farthest away from the chute. I have had no issues with the chute clogging. I think the high-lift blades that came on my Craftsman 917.28924 tractor help prevent clogging. The little spinning indicator on the chute is a...
...

Assembly was very easy, as was the attachment to the tractor. Capacity far exceeded my expectations, it holds a lot of grass clippings. I had no problem with the fit of the grass chute, no leakage at all. My problems have been with the plastic cover. It cracked with the first use. I repaired the crack with some sheet metal and pop rivets. By the end of the summer the cover was basically in two pieces. I'm going to try to put it back together with more sheet metal and rivets. I would think that for the price, which I now believe is much more than it's worth, the plastic cover could be beefed up a little. Ok, beefed up a lot. I wouldn't buy another of these.
...
