PittsCraftsman says "Great Functional Idea" about Craftsman C3 19.2 volt Cordless Inflator

This inflator is a great add-on for the C3 product line. I fyou already own the tools, batteries,e tc. this is a no-brainer! Makes for a decent digital pressure gauge, a good top-off for vehicle tires, good bicycle inflator, and a good ball inflator. Very handy to have around!

I try to check my truck tire pressure once a month or so, but I forget a lot. I have pressure sensors in the tires so when one gets low an alarm goes off. This inflator is real handy for that purpose too! I hate trying to manuever around the gas station lot and get air, always busy and a PITA. The Lock feature is wonderful!

The complaints I have are:

The way the hose attaches ... it has a screw-in fitting, but just sticks into a rubber tube-like grommet and gets held-in, tightly, by the screw on cap. I don't like the connection method.

I agree with another poster, I think the tire chuck is cheap pot metal and they could have at least went with brass.

Mine runs hot. After a few minutes of running, the tip of the...

...

I have purchased a few of the C3 Craftsman tools and have, for the most part, been satisfied with all of them. I regularly go to the Sand Dunes and have to air down my tires to keep from getting stuck. Afterward, I am stuck driving on under-inflated tires looking for a filling station. I purchased the Craftsman C3 19.2 volt Cordless Inflator to, as the box says, inflate car and motorcycle tires on the go. Unfortunately, it took way too long to get even one tire up to pressure. It would have taken close to an hour to get all four tires up on a fully charged battery. That was just too long for me. I can see where this tool may be good for (very) small jobs and the auto pressure thing is the best idea I've seen on a tool yet. It just didn't have enough power for me. Sadly, I will return it tomorrow.
...

Bought one on a wim. Both of my cars have a 12 volt inflator, I also ride a bicycle & have no electric in my garage. I live in a co-op & this little beauty is a blessing. I spent more time wrapping the 12v cord than enjoying my bike ride. Just grap, pump & go! Even better if you jump into the C3 system with a tool kit. After purchasing charger & battery set, YES it was expensive but to me worth the price. So much so I wound up getting a 7 1/2" circular saw to build shelving in my garage. Built in gauge is good to within 2 to 3 lbs. Here in NY a Sears is right around almost any corner, so its was easy to find....

i ordered my inflator at sears with a salesmans assistance. they were out of stock. what i didn't know, because the salesman didn't tell me, the display didn't mention, nor did i have a box to read such, was it does not come with a charger, which costs as much as the inflator, nor a battery, which i can't even find the price of. so if you don't already use the C3 19.2 battery system, this inflator will actually cost around $100.00!!! also, if you ride bikes, the lock feature won't work over 40lbs. my tires use 65lbs, my shocks 200lbs! mine will be returned tomorrow....

I'm an avid motorcycle rider and road bicycle rider. Each require fairly frequent tire pressure maintenance. You're familiar with the typical process: lug pump to bike, over inflate, check pressure, release excess pressure, check pressure, oops over inflate again, check pressure, and so on. Now I just attach the inflator, watch the digital display, and go for a ride. This product is so good that it gave me the confidence to switch all of my DeWalt cordless tools to the Craftsman C3 system. I'm thinking of buying a second one because I don't know what I'd do without it now....

It may work fine on car or motorcyle tires, but it is painfully slow for use on anything else. Kids bikes, intertubes, inflatables, etc. are so slow, it is easier to use a hand pump. It just doesn't push enough cfm to do much more than a vehicle tire that doesn't have a lot of volume. Disappointing....

This is the best tool I own. Works great! As previously mentioned, you do need to go 2 psi over when filling tires, but then it is perfect. Very easy to use. Convenience is the best as it is so difficult to find a gas station that either has an air compressor that works or you need to pay to use it. Everyone should own one. Keeping tires at the correct psi helps first with safety for all and then increases longevity of your tires. Great for bikes, balls, mattresses ... any inflatables. My kids are my first love ... then this lol (don't tell my wife .. oh wait, I'm not married! :)...

I have a Honda Pilot with a TPMS that's regularly nagging me to add air to one or more tires. I read the previous reviews for this product and decided to give it a chance. It works great, inflating an SUV tire from 28-29 psi to 32 psi in about a minute. I don't know how many tires can be topped off using a single battery, but I know it's at least four!...

I have a friend that owns a motorcycle shop and when I saw this tool at his shop I had to have it. Its so convenient to take anywhere and is quite accurate. The people that say you have to inflate to about 2lb psi more than it reads are correct in that it does not account for the pressure in the actual hose. This is where the discrepancy of the 2lb psi comes from.

Knowing this, I always just inflate to 2lbs more than I need and when I stop filling with air, VOILA! Accurate to where I needed it....
