Just as dependable as the Digital Cubes, Calipers. Used to set the angled shoulder of some rails/rungs I'm making for a set of splay legged stools. as well as the angle of the tenons. Fit perfectly into the legs of the stools. So setting the angles on both ends were accurate using the digital readout on the mitre. Was pleased with the results of the the tool as well as the price.
...

I like the miter gauge, but it was sort of difficult to install and understand the directions. What I really don't like is the time it took the Sears salespeople in the tools dept. to even find the gauge in their store. The tools sales staff is not knowledgeable about the products they have for sale. I even have to bring my own Craftsman club catalog because the store seldom has one to check.

But, overall, I do like Craftsman products and have a large table saw, hand and bench sanders, drills, reciprocating saw, air compressor, vacuum, etc., all bought at the local Sears.
...

Earlier this year I bought a Sears Craftsman boxjoint/miter gauge fence (one size fits all) to use with the origional miter gauge on my table saw. To make a long story short, the joints never came out as needed because of slop or play in my origional miter gauge. I had been looking around for an after market miter gauge for several months and came across this Sears model. This was just what I was looking for!

Today I purchased one, brought it home and went to the shop. I followed the instructions and finished the minor amount of assembly in five minutes. The setup was flawless. The miter gauge rides in its' track without any play in it. You can set it on any degree with no effort and it stays there. I am delighted! It does everything the ad says with no problem except,,,

The Sears Craftsman boxjoint/miter gage fence (this was supposed to fit all miter guages) does not fit or match up to my new Sears Craftsmas Digital Miter Guage! How can this be?
...

I purchased the miter gauge for my Craftsman table saw. The gauge fits the groove perfectly. I have had the miter gauge for two months now and I am very happy with it. I have had the same batterys in the gauge since I got it and they are still good. I find the gauge to be very accurate and it is really worth the price I paid for it. There are two things that I don't like, the first is that the battery compartment door is very easy to open accidently and the second is the two fence lock levers are rather small and hard to grip but they are minor problems. I would recommend this gauge to anyone that use a table saw....

I think it's a quality miter for the money.
Easy to use and my miter cuts are definitely more accurate than with the miter that came with my table saw.
I would recommend this to my friends...

I have just finished an entire summer living with this gauge. Frankly, I am not sure how I got along without it. My eyes aren't what they used to be. I built the gauge into my home made sliding table, and it has worked flawlessly through hundreds of cuts. I just finished a cherry table and chair set. The chairs have 8 degree compound miters, and every one is right on the money. In fact, the parts for all the chairs were interchangeable.

I have no doubt that I could have made these angles by measuring each setup diligently, since I have done it many times before in six decades of woodworking; but I never would have believed how effortlessly I was able reproduce compound miters. As for the cover and battery, I have had no trouble with either, but I did build the gauge into my sliding table.

If you are worried about the accuracy of your current miter gauge, or you just want to be able to reproduce angles exactly, buy one of these gauges, make sure you have a good accurate square to adjust......

This miter gauge is not up to my standards.
For angles it is mostly unusable.
After you get it to the drgrees you want and start to tighten it down it will move up to 2/10's of a degree.
I've finally got it set on 90 degrees and am afraid to move it because it is so hard to line up.
It eats batteries. I've used the original that came with it and 2 more sets in 6 months and I do not turn it on unless I want to check to see if it has moved.
This has definately got to be a failure in design or workmanship.
I would not recommend this tool....

The 1st one I got, the battery door was broken. I returned it and waited until it was in stock at the local store. My local store sales people were totally inept. I had to talk to 5 salespeople in tools to have some one finally find it and I purchased my 2nd one. It is accurate, easy to use and a good buy. It is accurate to .1 degree and hold that thru most of it's 50 degree range. I would like a better handle for people with large hands....

I give it 5 stars because not only can I rotate and switch bits in seconds. I can also remove the bits and use a bit that is not your standard p1 p2 etc.
If I need to repeatedly use a torx bit, simply remove the p1 and insert a torx.
Or any other uncommon bit. This tool is tough. Well engineered built well. I have a similar product that is cheap plastic and more bulky. Needless to say it has been replaced by this customizable tool. Thanks Craftsman!...

For the rater that complained about no hold down, why not add your own in the T track slots? The ProMiter-100 also does not include one, is no more accurate and built about the same. It sells for $399.00!!
I do agree that the battery cover could be made better but still it is an extremely great buy when compared to the alternatives!!...

One would figure for $80 that a decent mitre guage would have a hold down clamp with it or at least available as an add on. Spend the extra money and buy an Incra Jig if you need precision cuts.
I also had issues with the battery cover. This unit needs a work piece hold down clamp and a better handle for holding on to it while feeding it into the blade.
Save your money!...

Bogeyman says "Solid Design - Poor Battery Door" about Craftsman Digital Miter Gauge

I waited about 6 months for these to become available. I finally was able to purchase one at my local Sears store. I read the instructions and found out that it required 2 AAA battries so I ran out picked up some new ones and headed back to the shop.

I opened the battery door, AND IT FELL OFF ! THE 1 CENT HINGED PLASTIC DOOR FELL OFF !!

This said, I was able to duct tape the door closed so I could try it out. It is extremely accurite. I used a sign bar and gage blocks to check the cuts at 15, 22.5, 30 and 45 degrees. It was within 15minutes in all instances.

I am now patiently waiting for another one....
