Just a nice basic multimeter with a voltage detector. Assuming you're just a bacic DIY guy like me this should cover your needs. As an fyi I was able to get this at $16 or $17 on black-friday, couldn't turn it down at that price.

This is a great little meter that won't break the bank. A quick solution for those spur of the moment problems. Reliable enought to use on your task at hand but affordable enoughto lend it to your buddy and not stay up at night wondering if they burnt out your good meter.

only complaint, the non contact voltage detector really gets under your skin after a couple of checks. I understand its for safety but the tone is just so irritating.

I purchased this multimeter on a whim. I use a multimeter in the tech shop I work for, so didn't really have a use for a personal one... but it was on sale... and included the AC voltage detector... so I figured... why not? It was a great decision! My daughter had a science project and what did I need... yup... a multimeter. Easy to use too. I also had car trouble... thought it was my battery. Handy dandy multimeter proved me wrong. I never thought I would need one... but I'm glad I bought it when I did. Saved me a lot of heartache, and time... and money since it was on sale. And the AC voltage detector... great bonus, works like a charm. Now to fix my light switches......

This multimeter came in simple plastic packaging but is high quality and easy to use. It has a nice rubberized case with an optional kickstand to make it easy to read while you use the contacts. The instructions are on 1 folded sheet of paper but if you need more information about what settings you can always find it on the internet. It also has the ability to replace the fuse in case you overload it.

The readings are accurrate and the display is big and easy to read. It has helped me diagnose many problems with my devices and hasn't failed me yet.

What's also great is the free pen that's included that helps you determine if there is power going to anything. This is a quick and easy way to protect yourself when diagnosing circuit problems and is a great addition to the package.

Really bad quality on the one feature I use the most which is the continuity. You just cannot trust it. Sometimes it will beep when there is continuity, sometimes not. Not sure how you can mess this up. The voltage detector works but doesn't have an on/off switch. Not sure why or how long the little watch batteries they include will last....

Pros: solid build and very useful. I have used it for battery tests including car battery. I have also used it to test fuse continuity. Good web price. Cons: web price is different from in-store price. Way too complicated to do a "web purchase" in store to get the web price....

I am pretty happy with the capabilities of the multimeter, I recommend it. For home use, is really good. Works perfect and make me remember all time in school and physics classes. Easy maintenance and fuse or batteries replacement.

I use mine about every day and it works well. My only complaint is that it doesn't check hertz but hey, it costs $15.00 so I shouldn't even say anything.

Searched long and hard on the internet for an inexpensive Digital MultiMeter. Then I went into Sears and saw this one for only $14.99 on sale, which includes the MultiMeter and a AC Voltage Detector! I measured my fresh new car battery which I charge up and it read 12.95 Volts. I was amazed for my ancient 25 year old $60.00 analog meter, which is quite accurate and trusty, read the same voltage after I manually adjusting it. I wanted the 1.5V and 9V battery testing feature. I measured a rechargeable Ni-MH and it accurately detected it as weak at .65 Volts, which I did not know at the time, so I right away recharged it. The continuity tester works just fine when I tested a 15 amp car fuse. I was able to measure AC voltage from an outlet at 119 Volts.

For the price it is amazing how accurate and dependable it is right out of the box.

The AC Voltage detector uses conveniently 2 AAA batteries. I tried it and it worked when I brought it near an AC outlet. It beeps with...

I picked this up awhile back to add to my toolbox and I've been very glad that I did so now. The meter itself is really a nice meter despite not being one of the high end meters. For the average consumer, it gets the job done and gets it done right. The added voltage probe sealed the deal for me because I've needed something like this time and time again. This dual pack is the perfect gift to get someone who likes to tackle their own projects and due to its price, this is going to be a great stocking stuffer for Christmas morning.

This item is great for what it does, but do notice as other uses have stated in previous reviews that this isn't really for AC current. This will work for DC and the little supplied tester will work for AC current, but the voltmeter itself will not. So if you need it around the house for testing AC and DC current. You'll have to find another one.

I bought this kit after Labor Day. I am pleased with the multimeter. After unpacking the unit, I compared its basic AC and DC voltage settings to a Amprobe 37XR-A, Fluke 179, and a Wave Tech 27XT. The craftsman meter was pretty close to all of these. The basic battery test feature is great for the church's media department. As for the non contact AC voltage probe, good tool. It would be a great tool if it had a on/off switch like the flukes. Other than that, good simple tool to have. If you have lots of recepticals, lights, and light switches near your work bench, you might want to remove the batteries to keep the probe from constantly going off. It is pretty sensitive.

I got this on sale at Sears and used pick-up at the store. The transaction was very easy and the pick-up was very simple fast and friendly. The meter itself is very good for the pice. Actually, it would be good at $25 without the included bonus AC voltage probe. No tool box should be without these at this price....

I got this as a Christmas gift from my in-laws, it has been an absolute dream with this thing...it does everything around the house and in the car as well. the little voltage detector actually saved me from serious injury while wiring a new 220 outlet in my laundry room too!...
