My purchase of the Craftsman 22124 was the best decision I have ever made. I bought the saw over a year ago and this is an incredible saw! Coupled with the Leitz blade and beisemeyer fence, this saw rocks! I've used this to cut mahagony, walnut, hard maple, maple plywood and oak with no problems. The blade with aligned perfectly to the table and fence aligned perfectly to the blade right out of the crate. The saw was shipped in a steel crate and packed carefully. The fence was also packed carefully and without a scratch. I love this saw, it is the centerpiece of my shop. The only downsides to this saw are the miter fence and the flimsy outfeed table. I bought an Incra 1000HD and can't wait to cut wood on this saw! Updgrade this saw with a riving knife and you would have a superstar saw! Sears has created a rock solid, serious piece of hardware that belongs in the tool hall of fame! Psst...I feel guilty for the ridiculously low price I paid!
...

The industry called the Craftsman 22124 a "Hybrid"...a cross between the very common light duty contractor saws vs the heft, power and stability of the full cabinet saws. Make no mistake, this saw is MUCH closer to it's big brothers than to a contractor saw. It shared all the positives of the big cabinet saws, except the extra muscle (1.75hp) and higher prices!

I’ve been WW for 35 years and decided to step up to the stalwarts of the saw industry. After carefully researching features-performances-prices of the other hybrids on the market and reading the many positive reviews of this saw, I choose the Craftsman 22124! It had many useful features I wanted: [110 volt operation, out feed table, quick release guard-splitter assembly, miter gauge clamp-crosscut fence, laminate side table, large cabinet door, wide 18" rip left of blade, very nice Leitz 40T blade, weight and heft close to 3hp cabinet saws, excellent Pro Biesemeyer T-square Fence system, small cabinet footprint, and HD-Cabinet...
...

I just bought this table saw two weeks ago and it has been wonderful to use. I had to spend very little time fine tuning the factory settings, and the blade that comes with it is of good quality. The fence is solid and the granite top is great, though I dropped a wrench on it during assembly and put a slight chip in it, though it is hardly noticeable.
...

Finally, after 10 years of using a $200 Craftsman saw for furniture, and borrowing friends' saws every now and again, I decided it was time to get a decent saw. Overall, this saw is great, although the factory assembly leaves a lot to be desired and there are a few other minor issues.
Pros:
-Very powerful for a relatively low HP saw. It cannot compete with the 3+ HP monsters, but it does 1" thick oak fairly well, and 3/4" oak very well.
-Quiet, one of the quietest saws I've used.
-The fence is just about perfect.
-Low vibration.
-Easy to align (at least mine was, but some reviewers seem to have found differently).
-The Biesemeyer extension, while cheap wood, can be tossed to give a great place to mount a router table for those of us with space problems.
-Easy to remove blade guard.

Cons:
-The factory assembly was awful, several things, including the blade elevation and tilt mechanisms, were not assembled properly. Looks like someone forgot to tighten all the set screws, the blade elevation......

I have had this saw going on 5 years. I own a large cabinet shop in Charleston SC and have been using the saw for production the whole time I have owned it. Saw is a bit weak ripping hardwoods but works well on sheet goods. Also have Jet cabinet saw which is far more powerful but lacks the ease of use that comes with the Biesemeyer fence. Overall love the saw if it was 3hp would be awesome. The saw will take the abuse, My saw has probably cut somewhere in the range of 50,000 sheets of 3/4 maple plywood and hundreds of thousands of feet of maple lumber. I really cant complain. Thinking of upgrading the motor this year to 3hp and triple belts. will keep the saw though until it just cant work anymore. I would recommend this saw to anyone who wants to upgrade from a contractor style saw without paying the price. I figure this saw will pay for itself in the average shop in around 2-3 months. I figure mine has paid for itself 300 times over great great saw. Just take your time with it and it......

This is a great saw. The assembly manual says to use two people to lift and assemble the saw (425 lbs.) I had no help available so I used a portable shop hoist to unload and move the saw. It took me about a half day to assemble and adjust the saw but once I made all the adjustments, it is dead on accurate. I found no problems with any hardware or parts. Everything went together as advertised and the instructions were easy to follow...

I purchased this saw in September 2008, but decided to wait on writing my review until I had a few hours on it. So far I have been very happy with my purchase. Set up took me a little longer than most, but I wanted to make sure it was set up 100%. Cutting with the saw has made a huge differnce in my projects. This is also the first saw that I have left the guard on, it works terrific. No binding after beveling the blade. One thing I need to get is a good dust collector. Currently I am using a shop vac and adapters, but the vac doesn't clean out the cabinet much. I bought mine on sale during club sale so I saved alot, but after using it, I think it is a worth while investment at around $950, I can't see paying full retail. I was originally going to run mine on 220, but found out that unless you use it daily it doesn't pay to convert. Great saw and hopefully Craftsman keeps up the quality products they have been turning out lately....

I just recently bought one after a lot of reseach on the web & in many magazines such as Consumer Reports & the like with info. on many table saws. I'm just a hobbyist but I like using dependable tools. It took about 3hrs. to set up but it gave me time to review all the info about my new saw. Most of my tools are Craftsman but I have others but this one is like owning a cadillac. I reccomend this saw to any contractor. Its very quite, smooth, & the fence is great. The accuracy of the motor set up to the table top was excellent. The only draw back I see is the bolts & nuts that come with are reg. iron they should be stainless to prevent rusting so if you have to work on it you will be able to. Other than that its a great saw....

I have used this table saw for 2 years and it has been a joy over my cheap contractor style saw. It has the power to plow through any wood at a decent rate and is built well with a very good fit and finish. The fence is the best made and was easy to adjust to the blade. The miter gauge is OK, but could be approved on due to the odd additions that come with it. Overall this saw is well worth the name Craftsman Professional and I have built some fine furniture projects with it. When I got it home the cast iron extensions bolt holes were drilled wrong. Sears customer service passed me onto an expert and he shipped me free new extension wings no questions asked. My recommendation is buy if you are wanting to step up to a better saw!...

BOught this saw and set it up. Checked the alignment of the blade with a machinist square and there was not enough adjustment in the mounts to allow the blade to align to zero degrees so instead of lugging the 400 lb saw back to the store I had to drill out the mounts of the motor to allow enough movement. Got that done, then tried to install the adjustable feet, well what a problem, the adjustable feet threads were differrent than the threads tapped into the bottom of the saw, busted one off and had to drill it out and thread to a larger size and buy new mounts. Sears was of no help in this regard. The customer service rep just said I should have brought it back to the store and exchanged it for another. Easy to say on the other end of the phone when you don't have to reload and unload the 400 lb saw again. Craftsman power tools continue to drop in quality. This is the last Craftsman power tool I will ever buy...

I purchased this saw a few weeks ago and I don't think it can get any better for the money. It was a big job to get it setup. I didn't have anybody handy to help, so I unloaded it and set it up by myself with a 2 wheel dolly. I wouldn't recommend doing that - get a friend to help if you can. I'm a big guy and it was at the extreme edge of my capabilities to lift and control the different parts during assembly. I used clamps and support sticks to aide with the extensions. The motor tension spring had fallen off during shipping, I was able to replace that by looking at the exploded diagram in the manual.
I didn't get the wax on the table right away and a few tiny rust specs appeared about 2 weeks later. I was able to buff them out, but I would recommend getting the paste wax on the table right away.
This saw cuts like a hot knife through butter. I'm very happy with the included Leitz blade and the Beismeyer fence is awesome!! Once it is dialed in, it is perfect, perfect, perfect. No need......

After a year or more of trying to decide what table saw to buy, I decided on the craftsman 22114, one step below the 22124. I purchased it online to get 20% off. The next day I stopped in to the local Sears where I would be picking it up, just to find out roughly what size crate I would be dealing with when I picked it up. Talked to a salesman about it who went and got his manager. The manager then offered me the 22124 saw for the same price. Someone had returned one because it had a small scratch in the top, which you could not even feel. Got it home , put it together, but could not get the blade aligned square to the miter slot (heeling). The store sent out a Sears tech who did not fix it , he thought he did but did not know what he was doing in my estimation. I ended up having to elongate the holes in the cabinet to get it right. I should not have had to do this but figured it was easier than returning the saw. It's a nice saw but I'm giving it three stars because of the problems and......

I used to work in a professional shop and after I was laid off and still wanted to do some work with a saw, I researched everything and really wanted the Biesemeyer fence. This saw is worth every penny (and I got mine on sale for a great deal!!) We had the same fence system, only bigger, in the shop so I knew that was good, but the saw it self is so nice and professional and I would say the best part is when you lower and raise the blade, it self adjusts the tension and you just keep cutting. It is HEAVY too, so be prepared, but I put mine on wheels and it rolls around great! The only saw I could recommend more then this is the STOP SAW for 3X the price....

After 6 months of reading and trying different saws, and many weekend discussions with my brother in law of whom is a manager in a high end cabinet shop... I "still went Craftsman!" There are many other saws out there, and you can pay a ton more... Buy this saw on sale or at full price and you won't be disappointed! Some other reviews have mentioned the table being "off" by .005 on the table top and wings etc... First, this isn't a $3,000 cabinet saw ...it was 1/3 of that at full price! It has the best fence on the market, and comes with a great blade! I was patient and directly after assembly and lining up the fence, with no further adjustments, cut 1"X12" square strips of black walnut...it passed as fast as one would want to saw...safely. I used digital calipers to measure pieces afterwards, .003 difference! In the "worst" ones. Take your time during assembly...it took me 4hrs alone, including changing the motor to run on 240 which was easy. The instructions are clear and simple, start......

I had read all of the reviews prior to making my purchase and have been looking for the last two years. There is a review that I read and could not help but laugh. The issues with my contractor saw tipping when handleing large sheets, adjusting the fence and clamping it in place. Well, I suffered through all of those and I am so thrilled that I finally spent the money on this saw. The price of this saw does not convey the quality. I can not say enough about the fence, I simply set the fence and cut the same size every time without having to check or resquare the fence.
As far as the set up, I did not find that to be an issue. I spent just about four hours total and that includes getting the fence set.
I have cut over thirty sheets of plywood, most 3/4 inch and some 1/2 inch and did half lap on 2x4's with my dado blade and the saw is fantastic. The arbor is too short for me to run my stacked dado at the full 3/4 inch width but with the fence I simply make the first pass and move the fence......

I just loved the way this saw worked right out of the crate that is was packed in. After inital setup I was able to cut 3"X6" hardwood slices as thin as a paper. I mean as thin as paper in a real sense without riping up the wood. The only thing that I have discovered so far that I wish was better is the flatness of the top. It won't stand up to a straight edge test.
I think that is a great buy and should stand up to the test of time for me, as I use it everyday in my shop.

This saw has been the mainstay of my shop since the day I bought it. My experience with it has been nothing but good. I've been using it for over 2 years now and it still performs like the first day I turned it on. The only draw back I have found is the scale used to indicate the tilt of the blade, but I use a gauge to set this anyway so it is really a non-issue. For the price, it has been one of the best purchases I have made and I would definitely buy it again should I need another saw!!...
