This is a great compressor that runs cool and it's quieter than a lot of maintenance free models. I did the same modification with the moisture relief valve at the bottom as a previous reviewer did with 2- 90 degree street elbows, a 10 inch nipple and a 1/4 turn ball valveto avoid having to crawl on hands and knees to release moisture. . I also drilled a hole in the plastic on/off switch cover so I could access the pressure adjustment screw without having to remove the plastic cap. Additionally, I ran 2 couplers so I can run multiple hoses simultaneously.

The only complaint I have is that there were no instructions for wiring a power cord to it. I expected that it wouldn't come with a cord but Sears on-line help did nothing but waste my time. They directed me to an 800 number to call for help and they hung up on me. I was pretty sure I had it wired correctly (and I did) but it would have been nice to know for sure before putting the juice to it.

I haven't had this compressor long, but so far it is working flawlessly and runs surprisingly cool. After thirty minutes of continuous operation, the motor is almost cool to the touch, and while the pump cylinders are definitely warm, they are nothing like what you would expect after such use. There are a couple of things I do not like about the unit. The compressor pictured on the Sears website has a ball valve (which is preferable) and mine came with a 1/2" gate valve. The air cleaner fitting that screws into the cylinder was not even hand tight. The air pressure gauge was adjusted so that it almost faced the floor. Also, like with other compressors in its class, the drain valve is located at bottom center of the tank. To operate the valve, you have to get on your hands and knees and reach way under the compressor into a dark hole. I don't know about anyone else, but most shops I have been in, including my own, have enough creepy crawlies to make me wary of sticking any appendage into......

This unit may cost a little more but, it is well worth what you will spend, this thing has more options then my car, all that is missing is the side air bags. i have used this for two weeks almost non stop and i will never own a smaller unit after this one....

Very good compressor, hardly comes on with normal use. Plenty of pressure and air. A quiet unit for the size. Would highly recommend. Spend a little more and you will be happy you did....
