I purchased this Craftsman all purpose stapler/brad nailer to help get some projects done around the house. I have used this to put up some insulation and it made the job a little easier. I was able to staple in tight spots without much of a problem. I like the versatility of what can be loaded into the Craftsman stapler/brad nailer. This tool works as advertised; no kick back, constant pressure to the work area and easy on the hands. It can use the following:

Use heavy duty narrow crown staple sizes 1/4, 5/16, 3/8, 1/2 and 9/16 in. Uses 9/16 in. EasyFire™ brad nails

I would recommend this as a good tool to have for the all the DIYers out there to help with your projects.
...

This stapler is so much better than the conventional hand-held large staplers. It takes much less pressure to shoot the staples and when a person is arthritic this is a great help. I love the fact that it takes many different types of staples and nails. A great buy!!
...

I bought on of these new staplers at Sears. I really like it. I had bought a cheaper one from a differant store and it was junk, I use it a lot, so I went to Sears to get a good one. This new design works out better for me and I like being able to shoot brads with it also. I also like the viewer to see how many you have left in the chamber. At first I thought it was going to be hard to load, then I realized that it was easier than my last one. It also has not jammed like my last one. Sweet!...

I bought this because of the brand name. Craftsman has always been a good brand but this stapler was not true to that fact. I had it only for a yr 1/2 and it broke. I am a women whose touch is not that strong so it wasn't from abuse in handling. I didn't throw it in the tool box or anything and it just didn't live up to expectations.
...

I lost my first Craftsman stapler during a move. At the time i didnt think it was much of a loss. A staplers a stapler right? Pfft man was i wrong! Thinking that they were all essentially the same i bought a new one(powershot) that looked like the Craftsman i lost. Huge mistake. It was impossible to sink staples or brads flush or to counter sink them. I had to hammer everything i stapled. Sadly there was no adjustment to help sink them like the Craftsman either. After using the powershot twice it jammed. I attempted to remove the jammed staple but only managed to break it lol! Parts flew all over my workshop. So i tossed what was left of the powershot and headed off to Sears. I picked up a new Craftsman EasyFire and couldnt be happier. Ive used it several times since buying it and it has been far superior to the powershot it replaced. With the spring adjuster you can couter sink brads and flush sink staples with ease. I wouldnt trade this stapler for anything except maybe an electric or...
...

Overall this stapler is really good. The wire guide makes it easy to avoid stapling through the wire. Power seems pretty good with minimal effort needed to drive the staples. The feed opening is a little hard to open, feels like you're going to break it before it opens....

This is a great staple gun! We have several others at our home, and this is the one we always go to because it is easy to load and easy to shoot. I use it a lot for stapling fabrics to wood, many times the underside of furniture, and I do not have strong hands. I don't have to stand on my head or struggle in any way to shoot this, even upside down. Other guns require two hands for me, and even then I struggle with them. This one is also light and doesn't have any kickback at all. We have had ours for several years and today I am buying one as a gift for a friend.
...

Took it out of drawer today, it shot 3 staples then the load gate kept shooting out. Fixed that, now the return spring on handle won't work. This stapler now comletely worthles!

My husband has had this staple gun for several years, and had bought it for general home improvements. It's lightweight and easy to use (so even if you're a woman it's 'user friendly'), and it also does the nail brads as well! Unfortunately, we aren't able to find the staples or nail brads unless you go to a store where Craftsman is sold. However, we love it and would definately recommend it - it's a great value for the money!
...

Great replacement for my old all-steel Swingline. Love the "Wire Guide and easy drop-in loading. In comparison, the easyfire has better penetration than my old-old Swingline and a shorter swing of the lever handle. Superior balance to conventional lever stapler and much easier to manipulate in tight places. I like the Easy Fire is "Made in USA."

A drop on the ejector guide of my old Swingline is what finally did it in; I'm concerned the plastic body and lever cover on the Easy Fire will shatter if dropped in cold weather. A Fiberglass or Rubberized plastic body may make the Easy Fire more durable. I wish Craftsman offered more than a 1-year warantee on Staplers.
...

This is a good, decent stapler to have on hand for projects where it's easier to staple to fasten it down rather than using screws or nails. We had these to use at the local scene shop in the theater department which allowed us to staple down the scrim for backdrops. Making these backdrops was quick and easy with very little difficulty or problems with the staplers. However, we did go through these fairly quickly with high usage so these are clearly not intended for heavy duty usage. We all felt we got our money's worth out of these staplers.
...

This product is a piece of junk. I puchased it to do some upholstery work. The first one was defective and would not even shoot one staple, the plunger would not let the staples advance to the firing chamber. I took it back and got a replacement, same item, and this one would shoot two staples then stop because it would break up the remaining line of staples into groups of four or smaller. If this is what Craftsman has come to I may never buy another Cratsman product. The quality control and the reliability of the product is very poor. Also it would be a good idea to staff your tool department with people who know about the products they are selling, and not just the location where they can be found.
...

I purchased this stapler with the thought and expectation that it would be something special, but it reality it was a let-doen and a big disappointment!

This stapler lack the firing power to shoot staples all the way in. It sometimes works on soft maple, but any other woods forget it!

It also has a chronic quirk of misfiring staples and I must regularly open the loading chamber to dislodge and remove jammed staples -- which is a real aggravation, nuisance, and hassle especially when on the job!

The Easy Fire is no better than the hundreds of other staplers presently out there on the market, perhaps a bit worse due to its faults! I would not recommend this stapler to anyone!
...

THE GOOD:

This is the most comfortable stapler I've ever owned. I've never used a workshop stapler that fired as smoothly as this. I've used it to staple up targets at the firing range and it's great for attaching cardboard and paper to wood, or even thin plywood to a wall.

Make sure you buy the NARROW crown staples when you go back for refills. I bought the ones in the red and black box that say they fit Craftsman Heavy Duty Manual and Electric staplers.....but they don't fit this one.

THE BAD:

Somehow the gray plastic of my stapler cracked near where my index finger goes. This might be a Craftsman hand tool but the store told me it is NOT guaranteed for life 'because it has moving parts.' So I put some "JB Weld" on it. Fortunately it still works, even with the cracked plastic.
...

Although I have only used this to put some lights up outside the apartment it worked great. I was able to quickly load in the staples and go. I did notice that there was a nice metal piece on the front that extend and retracts that allowed me to put staples in over the light wire without risking cutting into the wire. (it extends to prevent the staples from going fully to the surface).

Overall this was light and easy to use. I am curious to see how well it works with brad nails ... time to go find a project.
...
