The Essential Home 5-Piece Pub Set is a great table and chair set. It is great for a small room and gives it the final touch. It looks very authentic and even looks nice in a big open room, helping the room look even bigger. It doesn't take up much space so is easy to walk around and clean around it. The table and chair set is not thebest for a family with small children as it sits up higher. The legs of the chairs are very sturdy and the chairs do not wobble so it is great for any size person. The table is also big enough where you can comfortably fit four people at the table and have plenty of room for all the food and drinks. I rated it with a 4 because it wouldn't be the best choice for a family with really small children. Also because the chairs are higher up, some older people wouldn't like it. I think its a great set for all the inbetween though!

I paid much more for a pub table for my home, but this one I bought for my elderly parents is just as nice. It allows you to stand up easier and to be more comfortable while eating, something a low table does not. The materials are pretty solid, not mdf garbage. The chairs did take some time to put together, but once you got the hang of it the other three went fast. The table was a breeze. If you have kids using it, you probably want a plastic table cloth or glass on top to keep the surface nice. I can see where moisture might cause bubbling on the surface if left wet for long. We did put a chair pad on the bottom because the seats were too hard for my Dad, but I find them fine the way they are. It's a small table and would fit a smaller room easily. I think seating four at the same time is pushing it, unless they are kids or you just have plates at each seating, but two people with dishes in the middle is fine. And it would be nice if it came in an all oak color. It...

I got this table and chairs for Xmas this year. I shopped around a lot and this is the table I wanted the most and asked for. I am so happy I have it. It is the perfect size as I live in a one bedroom apartment but have a large dining room. I did not want to get too big of a table but I wanted one that fit the room. This was perfect. Many tables at this price are tiny and barely an adult can sit on the chairs. Not to mention they are flimsy. This table is large, heavy and great for bigger adults and very sturdy. It is furniture store quality and honestly I like it better than what I have seen at furniture stores.

Like other people have stated it is not brown. It is black with a wood top which is exactly what I wanted. Another thing to note is it is all wood. It is very heavy and you will need two people at least to move the box.

It took me 2 hours to put this together, but was easy to put together. Half of that time was unpacking it. I have never seen anything...

Although we have not purchased this table yet, it is our chosen selection from all the on-line looking and reading of the reviews. Our only concern was the comments about the paint bubbling and the chipping.

We plan on putting a coat of polyurathane on the unit as well as have a heavy piece of glass for the top made. That will protcet the wood as well as make it much easier to clean. Don't want the grooves filling up with food, etc. Waiting for a better sale price also.

I purchased this pub set only to find out that the picture that describes this product is incorrect. When opening the box i found this pub set is actually BLACK not a dark wood tone...all customers beware that this is BLACK on the table legs and chairs!!! Needless to say i returned this item and have contacted customer service!

I had been against these pub style sets for quite a while. Finally, I gave in and boy am I glad I did. I can't say enough about this dining set. It assembled quite easily, it is strong and sturdy and looks good in my kitchen. Everyone who sees it compliments it. I am a short woman and have no problems with the chair height. I would highly recommend this product, and for the price, you simply can't get a better deal.

What a gorgeous set!! Just got it this weekend. Took me about 2 hours. It's very heavy, not particle board like the usual cheap furniture. I got it on sale for $179 and got an additional $20 off! What a steal! It was a little tricky to build the chairs, but it is definitely do-able. I love the set, perfect height and just looks fabulous. Looks like a Crate and Barrell set at a KMart price!

My husband and I are extremely happy with this table. It's a great product for the 200 we spent on it. The photos are of the same table. They were taken different days. We bought it shortly after we purchased our first home. The two tone gives the table a great modern look.

A heads up that the chair legs are a weak spot on the set. The legs themselves are very sturdy, but the insert joint piece on the pedestals were sometimes cracked. We don't plan to stress them and don't have children but we plan to add a thicker piece across the front of the legs so we can confidentially rest our feet on them while sitting.

Taking into consideration what we paid for it, how it looks, and the quality of most of it's parts we would defiantly recommend this product.

Love this table! we were looking for a table that didnt take up a lot of space in our apartment and this was a perfect fit! Works well for my husband and I and for our young kids! The table and chair legs are very sturdy and the table and chairs them selves are sturdy and durable. Having young kids it is nice to know that our table will stand up to the wear and tear that comes with having kids.

I would roccommend this table to people, i mean its a great deal for the price!

This is really cute and stylish looking. I particularly liked the multi colored wood. It's a great table for adults however it does not hold up to kids well. I would definitely recommend getting a piece of glass cut to cover the top if you have children. Otherwise it's a great table for the price!

my sister has this in her house and she loves it! she likes how high it is because if she puts something on the table she doesnt want the kids to get then they cant reach it! the kids love how high it is and very sturdy and easy to clean!

We bought this set for the sunroom in our new home, where we dine most of the time. The wood colors fit in perfectly with the "coffee" theme in this room, and we feel the pub style fits with our family's casual lifestyle.

With two boys (14 and 10), we have found this set to be very durable. The chairs can take lots of moving around and scooting across the floor. We have received lots of compliments on this set and would purchase it again.

The table and chairs are built well and they look really good in our kitchen. However you have to watch chipping the paint. After 3 months we already have some small nicks here and there because the paint doesn't stay on well. Overall, we like the unit because of the small cost but the painting could have been better.

I purchased this to go in my eat in kitchen for my children to use as a breakfast table basically. After a few months the table top started getting bubbles even though I was careful to wipe up any moisture from cups. Then we noticed the chair seats also had raised spots and peeling that appears to be where the faux wood overlay came unglued. We have started looking for a replacement eventhough we have had this table just barely a year.

This set is by far one of the nicest dining room sets that I have ever owned. I have owned sets that cost triple what this did and they did not hold up at all. I have owned this dining room set for about two years and it still looks as good as the day we received it. The chairs are extremely sturdy, however you probably would not want to sit on them for a long time as they can get a little uncomfortable after awhile. The table itself is perfect for just my husband and I with more than enough room for dinner. I must admit that I was very cautious about buying a table and chair set out of a box and having to put it together thinking that it would not hold up but for a very short time. So far I have been really impressed. It is really a very nice size, it fits perfectly into the smaller area in which I have it. Would definately recommend this set to anyone looking to purchase a new dining room/bistro/bar table and chair set.
