It worked really well for the first year. You could only see half of the numbers because something when out and it wouldn't show the bottom of all the numbers. It also would not heat evenly all the time. Then one day last month I was using it and it just stopped working in the middle of use and I haven't been able to get it back on since then. I followed all the rules in the book but it still isn't working. If this is considered a Professional version it don't stand up very long for what you pay for it.... It became dangerous as well. We would turn it on and set it at a certain temp and it would get so hot that it would turn itself off. It stopped registering the temperature settings. I have had many fryers, and, this is by far the best at home fryer I have ever used. Digital display/controls are accurate and easy to use. Unit heats to operating temp in 5 minutes or so and maintains correct temperture throughout cooking time. I have used for meats, fish, potatoes, cheese, twinkies etc. All results have been good and consistent. Earlier comment about no way to hang basket outside of oil is not true. Small (3) but adequate hanging clips are inside of resevoir, one for each basket. All stainless steel cleans easily and shines when cleaned in dishwasher (heating unit must be hand washed) I am waiting for sale and will buy 2 more. One additional for myself for more capacity when entertaining, and one as a gift to my daughter, who loves to cook. As to breaking early in its life, I cannot speak, however, if I get 2 years out of it at sale prices, I will be very happy. It is that good, yet very reasonable in...... Most deep fryers are to small to use if you have some friends coming over and don't want to do multiple cookings. However the basket in ours kept getting stuck to the brackets that held the heating coil in place and we couldn't get it out of the deep fryer some times. The biggest problem is that it totally quit working after only two years. It is only used occasionally and I would think it should last much longer than that.... I owned one for less then a year and it failed. Trying to get service through Euro Pro...FORGET IT! I may have had a poor unit, okay. But service is what it is about, with out the service to stand behind your product, does not do much good. Just beware. On the positive. It did fry up evrything I put into really nice and it is an 1800 watt 3LB food machine. I think they would have a great product if they would redesign the control panel. If you want a deep fryer, just make sure you get a fryer with emersable heating element. they heat more accurate then the fry daddy's which are built in....
