Between my home in Michigan and my condo in Florida I have had three dehumidifiers in the past fourteen years, but this one is the best. I only operate it at low fan speed, which compared to the other three units, is whisper quiet. Even at the low speed the unit is very efficient, having to be emptied three times during the course of a day. A big plus is the bucket has a built-in folding handle, which makes emptying it very easy. In my case there is only one slight negative: In Florida I use the unit in my living room/dining room/kitchen area, which is a large open space, and it throws off a lot of heat. I would highly recommend this dehumidifier, especially if one can utilize the continuous drain feature. I do plan on buying another one for use in the basement of my Michigan home, where I will be able to use the continuous drain hose....

I believe this item could be rated at five stars but I have not owned it long enough to give it that high of an evaluation. The control features are excelant and the choice of fan speed does determine the quietness of the unit. We have a large basement area to dry and maintain at a low humidity level year round because of the need to maintain a low level humidity environment for a large electric train layout. I'm pleased so far I hope there is some longevity in the unit's operation. Priced right for size and features....

After buying the Kenmore Elite 70 pint which I returned I bought this one. The Kenmore was unable to operate in my 50 degree crawl space. This one is drying out the space with no problems. Nothing fancy about this machine it just does what it claims to do....
