When my husband and I first purchased this set, I was thrilled. It was great looking and our first front loader HE washer. We had only owned the set for right over a year when the rubber seal of the drum shredded and was hanging. Thank God my husband had the know how to replace it. None the less, it still cost us money/time. Upon his research, he learned that this was a fairly common problem for a lot of people. (Pretty upsetting considering the age and supposed quality)

Front loaders have a tendency to acquire a gross, musty, moldy smell. When I spoke to other front loader users (friends/family) This particular washer seems to be very high maintenance in comparison to others. I am constantly(weekly at least) buying special wash powders for smell, running high heat bleach washes.....all to ward off the nasty smell and to keep our clothes from smelling like mildew.

Just recently, the matching dryer lost it's seal and won't dry properly. I will never, ever purchase another GE product...
...

Valerie5 says "Compare before buying GE Front Loader" about GE WCVH6800J1WW

I purchased the GE Front Load Machine WCVH6800J1WW because of previous experience with front loaders and a good experience with a GE refrigerator. Although the washer does an adequate job on most loads, washing towels, bath mats or anything with weight presents serious problems. These items will not spin out and cause the washer to heavily vibrate and then items have to be removed and/or rearranged. The technicians have told me that only a few towels can be washed at a time and comforters.bath mats etc. cannot be washed. After paying $1000+ for a washer I should not have to take these everyday items to a laundry when I have successfully washed them in other washers not costing nearly as much. I would not recommed this washer to anyone and would think twice before purchasing any GE product in the future.
...

Our Kenmore washing machine died so we read washing machine reviews for a while then went to Sears planning to just get a similar one. The Salesperson pointed out that with the $200 rebate from PG&E this model was only slightly more than the basic Kenmore model. Plus there is the added savings over time from the reduction in water and power usage.
We have only been using it for about 4 days now, but it seems to do an excellent job and with very little detergent. If I notice any problems I will post again later. But so far, I'm very happy with it.
...
