I bought the Hamilton Beach brew station to replace my cruisiart that had died. I like that it doesn't have the same teflon coating that wore off the cuisiart pot making me have to toss it out, but it could be sturdier. It's all plastic and causes it to slide around when you push the button to make the coffee. It does make a good cup of coffee and is easy to fill...

We first saw the BrewStation when visiting some family in Arizona. We liked it so much that as soon as we got home we bought our own and have not been sorry.

We started with the 8 cup and now have the 12 cup. It is so handy.

I like the fact that it has no glass carafe to break - a big feature!

It is also extremely easy to wash. I think anyone would like this coffee maker.
...

The Hamilton Beach 12 cup Brew Station is one of the best coffemakers I have owned. It is so easy to use and program. The ease of putting your cup up to the coffeemaker and BAM you have a fresh cup of coffee without the bothersome of a glass container or carafe. No worries. You can program it for a certain time to start brewing with out having to get up and turn the coffeemaker on. To wake up to the smell of fresh coffee brewing is a wonderful thing. We also bought a permanent filter with ours and have never been happier. This coffeemaker has been in our household for about 2 years and have no problems to report to date. You will not be dissappointed with this coffeemaker. I guarantee it.
...

I bought my first HB brewstation about 5-6 years ago. It was great, as long as you did a few things.
1. periodically run vinegar through it. It gets gummed up and needs a clean. - also keep the metal plate clean in the bottom of the tank.

2. use a separate container to pour the water. I filled the tank with water, then poured it into a cheap plastic pitcher. I marked the level, and from then on used the picher. It took all the guess work out, and I didn't have to carefully put the tank back w/water in it every time.

3. don't over fill. It drips into the electronics and causes it to not turn off, or not start. If you do over fill and see these problems, unplug and let it dry out for a couple days.

4. don't over fill the coffee basket. you get grounds into the tank. When grounds get into the tank it causes the valve on the bottom to leak. If the coffee starts brewing and you notice it leaking, take a cup and tap off a little coffee. It should clear the valve (unless there's a lot of grounds......

We drink a lot of coffee and time after time I've dealt with glass carafes that were like dribble cups. No matter how careful I tried to be there would be water spilled when filling the tank and coffe slopped on the counter and floor when pouring it into a cup. Problem solved! No pot. It makes good coffee and keeps it hot with no bitterness or scorching. I love this coffee pot. One tiny drawback - the gauge on the front is hard to read. I'll live with it....

We purchased the Hamilton Beach Brewstation Plus and will be returning it tomorrow. Here's what we liked.
- not having to deal with a carafe
- coffee brewed quickly and tasted well
- easy to program and set clock
Here's what we didn't like.
- cumbersome to work with (e.g. pouring water into the reservoir)
- too tall for a countertop because you always have to move it forward to clear the upper cabinet to pour the water into the reervoir
- power cord too short (~ 2 feet)
- the container guage to determine how much coffee was too narrow and very difficult to determine how much was left.
Bottomline... concept is good but didn't suite us. We'll be looking at the traditional carafe type (but not a glass carafe)....

I bought this coffee pot after reading several good reviews on it and am sorry that I spent the money. However, I feel that it is my mistake, not Hamilton Beaches. For years I have had a coffee pot that brews the coffee into a thermal carafe so it stays hot and doesn't continue to cook on a heating element. My old unit was just getting old and needed to be replaced. I loved the concept of this unit and leaped into the purchase without looking further into the construction! When so many of the reviews said that the coffee still tastes great after several hours and is still hot, I assumed that the container that it brews into was thermal. THIS POT DOES NOT HAVE A THERMAL CARAFE, therefore, the coffee continues to "cook" after it completes its brew cycle. It DOES change the taste of the coffee and after a very short time of it sitting on the heating element, the coffee begins to taste old and burned. If you are looking for a coffee pot that stops cooking when it stops brewing DO NOT buy this......

I received this pot as a present & was thrilled with the way the coffee stayed so hot but after brewing several pots of coffee I realized I was having a difficult time filling the basket with water. the icons were difficult to read & i had to set the basket down to make sure i was filling to the proper level. Also after the coffee was brewed the same problem presented when trying to determine how much coffee was left in the basket. needlless to say I am still looking for my ideal cofeepot!...

We have purchased many coffee makers, various brands. We average about 2 pots a day during the week and possibly 4 or 5 each day on weekends. This is the first coffee maker that has lasted longer than one year. We purchased the Hamilton Beach in October 2004 and it is still going strong. We were just about to sink a lot more money into a commercially rated coffee maker when we bought this one to give it a try. We are so glad we did. You will definitely get your money's worth out of this coffee maker....

Oftimes it is hard for the average consumer to differentiate between the hype and reality of product claims. After destroying our third carafe from different coffee makers we went forth to buy another. At Sears we came across the Hamilton Beach brew station which announced its main feature as not needing a glass carafe. Well, that was enough to convince us to give it a try and so we bought one. Six months later we couldn't be more pleased. No more carafes to be careful with. The coffee it makes is equally as good as any coffee maker we have used. We especially like that this brew station keeps our coffee warmer than other coffee makers we have owned. As an unexpected surprise, we noticed one day on the digital display the message "time to clean" (or some such reminder). Who among us can remember, among all the days demands, to clean the coffee pot?? The three brew modes, the automatic shut off and the programmable timer all combine with the features I have noted above to make our morning......

Set the timer for a few minutes before you get up & coffee is ready and yummy when your feet hit the floor!...
