My husband brought this heater home ... probably over a year ago - so it's going through it's 2nd year in our home; we leave it on all day and all night during the cold days. It takes some time to get warm.. which I think is the reason we do that. Also, note if you have kids, keep this out of the way, because it can get tipped over if bumped into hard - it makes a loud noise.. but just keeps on ticking. I would recommend the heater - we leave it on our mantel (don't use the fireplace) - it's away from everyone - and takes the chill off... the room is pretty big about 15 x 25.. and it keeps the chill off - as you move closer to it, you can feel the warmth. We use another smaller space heater inside the play room.... which is the next room over....

The Holmes utility heater is not power hungry. I have one cat that is cold from fall to spring and she loves to lie next to the heater. It is safe for her....

I have owned my Bionair Utility Heater for a little over 16 months. It works wonderful on those cold nights when I am sitting at my computer. I don't know if it is very energy efficient, but I like it anyway....
