I bought this unit to replace a countertop model and while I was at it, I bought a new matching KENMORE range. My wife and I like all the features especially adding and deducting time. I not only heat and reheat, I also cook in the microwave. The only drawback is that I mounted the unit against a wall on the left side and cannot ofen the door all the way. An inboard hinge design would solve this problem. I have nothing but good remarks on this item and hope it lasts a long time....

We purchased this Kenmore microhood to match our other Kenmore appliances. We love this, as our other microhood was failing fast and wasn't cooking.......this Kenmore heats, cooks and sensors nicely. What great features. We have had no problems. My husband and I actually installed this applicance ourselves and the form and fit are good. Our old microhood would take 1 minute plus, to heat up a cup of coffee!! Now with the Kenmore we use a whole 30 seconds!!!!!! Great!!!...

We like the features and most of the presets work well. Popcorn and potatoes come out perfect every time. The fan doesn't work or if it does it works sporadically. From time to time the microwave won't heat the food, it will run but it won't operate. The corner of the door cracked then a piece of plastic broke off completely. Form and fit aren't that good. Overall not impressed....

Have had this unit for 5 years (only 2 adults using it). Recently it became inconsistent in its heating capability (the internal light would dim like it was having problems getting started) and it just stopped working completely the other day (no display, completely dead). I would have expected a better life cycle on a Sears Kenmore product for this price. The extended warranty cost isn't worth the money on an appliance of this type as over the lifetime you're just better off buying a new unit. And of course the repair costs don't warrant fixing it either....

We have used this microhood for several months now and find only 3 design faults in it. First, and foremost, the exhaust fan is NOISY. (Much noisier than others we have used.) 2nd, fan speed is inidiscernable. The 5 speeds of the fan cannot be differentiated by noise/sound nor effectiveness. Judging by sound and smoke removal, speed 1 is quiet, but not sufficient to pull the smoke, initially. Speed two sounds like high speed on two-speed models and does a good job of getting the smoke to the exhaust. (I then switch back down to speed 1 which maintains the exhaust of the smoke, once started by speed 2 or 3.) Speed three ROARS louder, but removes no more smoke than speed 2. Speeds 4 and 5 sound no louder, nor faster than speed 3. Effectively, it is a 3 speed exhaust fan. The only problem we had was that the stove-top lamp burned out during the first week. This was a design flaw as the originally installed bulb was hot-glued into the housing, thereby reducing lamp heat disipation and allowing......

My wife and I purchased 2 of these microhoods. One for our house and one for a rental. It is large and the turntable can be turned off so that a large dish wont run against the door or wall. It is very easy to use and the auto cook features work well. I would recommend this microhood to anyone....

i have had this microhood for 3 months and I love it!! It is so sleek looking (black) and has TONS of room for reheating dinner plates. I was intimidated by all the features, but they are really easy to use. i love the "cheat sheet" on the inside to help remeber which settings are which.

The sensor feature is nice, but I have found when heating a large portion, you may have to do it twice. I was surprised by the shelf because i thought you shouldn't put metal in the microwave, but we use the metal shelf often and have had no problems with it.

The biggest complaint at our house is from the 9 year old because she was just gaining some independence by "cooking" for herself and now the new microwave is above the the stove and she can't reach it.

I love how much space I have gained by using the microhood combo!!...

We bought this as a replacement for a counter top model during a kitchen remodel. So far it works great, I especially like the sensor reheating. It reheats leftovers perfectly without having to guess a time.
I haven't used the metal shelf, I generally don't put more than one or two things in at a time. So I can't comment on the melted shelf supports....

This microwave does exactly what I bought it for. It fits the bill in every way. It matched perfectly with our cabinets and other bisque (not Kenmore) appliances. It was a cinch to install. It's easy to use and has a powerful fan. I love the flush turntable and the light underneath, which I use to light up the oven when I'm cooking on the stovetop. I have no complaints and I trust the Kenmore name....

I purchased this microwave 15 months ago due to the second shelf and what a mistake. The second shelf is metal and it has 4 plastic pegs to hold it, the plastic pegs melted and there is no recall on this defect, nor is it repairable. The mocirwave works but the burnt melted pegs are a problem. I would not recommend purchasing this product due to the issue with the metal shelf....
