kaliwags says "Kenmore Elite Wall Oven Toast after 18 Months" about Kenmore 27 in. Electric Single Wall Oven

<p>Do not buy this oven.</p>
<p>I am not much of a cook so my oven has not been used much. After 18 months of minimal usage I started receiving an F95 error code and the oven would stop working. I am told the repair costs will be approximately $530 for essentially a new oven. Of course I passed on the extended warranty as they are prohibitively expensive. All the reviews from **************** etc rave about this oven so I deemed myself safe (not).</p>
<p>Of course Sears can not/will not do anything for me. In renovating my kitchen I bought the entire Elite line of appliances along with a stand alone freezer. Wouldn't you think Sears would deem me a good customer? I'm done with them forever!</p>
<p>From the start it ran 25 degrees off the desired temperature but that I could deal with.</p>

<p>When we first got it, the fan was too noisy. It was about as loud as the microwave or exhaust fan above the stove. The installation tech said "that's not right, it's defective, call Sears and get another one". We did what he said and the new one is perfect. There is a bit of fan noise but it's not loud at all. Before I could hear the fan from just about anywhere in the house, now I have to stand right in front of the oven to hear it. The first one smelled bad too. This one has a little brand new smell but it's not bad at all. It works great and it looks nice too. The inside is larger than our previous Kenmore 27". A cookie sheet that I crimped the down the sides to make it fit in the old one slides in fine with about 2" to spare in width. Hopefully this oven will last a long time. My wife does a lot of cooking and baking so it will get a workout.</p>...

<p>The floating glass panels on the oven collect dust between the two panes. Looks horrible and dirty. I called the company to ask how to get the dust out because I can't see in the oven really well and it looks like I never clean. They told me the only way to do it was to have a service call to have it taken apart to clean. You have got to be kidding me! My husband ended up taking it apart himself but it is not easy. You really do have to take the whole front door off and unscrew all the parts just to clean it. Why does dust get between the panels anyway? Bad design. My whole subdivision has these in their homes and every one has the same problem. The oven fan is very noisy and runs for a long time even after the oven is shut off. The floating glass panel design is a nightmare and looks horrible after a few months once all the dust collects in there. Horrible customer service. Very loud unit. Wish I could throw it out!</p>...

Just got this oven installed and as another review (which unfortunately I hadn't checked out), my unit is bisquit color and the space that is for ventilating (between the top of the door and the control panel) is BLACK, not light colored as the picture would like you to believe, so it looks as if the oven is installed improperly. It shows as a large gap. Also the same thing on for the sides. Not sure if I'm going to keep it or return...

I purchased this oven for our kitchen remodel. After working for 2 months, it stopped heating up altogether. Unsure what happened but will return it to Sears for another. Hopefully better luck next time....

I'm hoping that my unit is not working properly because I haven't read a review that addressed my issue. This oven I just bought is by far the loudest appliance in my kitchen/laundry room. The automatic fan that turns on when you cook blows out more air than my vent-a-hood above my cooktop, straight in your face...enough that it resembles a box fan. It is much louder than even my microwave!!! I had to remodel my kitchen cabinet to fit in this oven since my old oven was smaller and taller so I am out that time and expense as well....

Was on sale, easy to order and pick up at the store with no shipping. Fit perfect in the hole and was easy to wire. So far it cooks great and really has a great vacuum that holds the heat in. Becareful when you open the door the heat will blast your face because it holds it so well.

Have had this oven for about a month now, and I love it. It cooks at correct temp. and everything I bake comes out perfect. I have not yet tried the self cleaning but sure it will be good, and definitely worth not having to clean manually. I got this oven on sale and very happy with my purchase....

This is a good little oven. I've only had it installed for two weeks now so I'm still figuring out what all it will do for me. A couple of peeves: When installing a light colored unit, the space between the top of the door and the control panel is BLACK, not light colored as the picture would like you to believe. So don't waste your time looking for a beauty piece that doesn't exist. Secondly, the clock is hard to set as there is no hour/minute function. If you come home from vacation to discover that the power was out, you get to punch that button 10,000 times to get it from 10pm to 9:45pm. All in all, though, it's an oven and it cooks stuff so I still feel like I got what I paid for....

I installed this oven myself. No problems. It is a very attractive oven and works well for us. My wife is having to fill her way around in the operation of this oven but with time, should come easy.
I should have looked at the larger 30" but this one will work.

I recommend it especially for the price!...

We just replaced our 40 year old GE wall oven with this model. Our previous wall oven ran 25 degrees warmer than the setting (dial). This Kenmore oven's temperature is accurate. I can now cook and bake foods for the correct times listed in recipes. It has nice features like a light (my old oven did not), more accurate temperature setting through the digital control and a HI/Low setting for broiling. This oven is wide enough for two 9 X 13 inch pans to fit side by side. The outside looks sleek and it does not stick out so far as my old wall oven did....

I was so pleased to have our oven arrive and in 2 days! It looks fantastic and has a nice sleek profile. It doesn't stick nearly like our old one. The features are very nice including a warming button when an item is finished cooking. It preheats quickly. The racks inside are very nice including a special opening to grab ahold of to slide them out. Very nice when they are hot. I am very impressed!...
