I purchased this little fridge to keep refreshments cool in the garage . It was a surprise so I had to carry it myself. It is light weight and small enough to fit in the backeat of my car. It only took an hour to cool and ONLY uses approximately $ 36 a year to run. Great Purchase...
...

I love to sit on my screened porch almost year round. I bought this Kenmore compact fridge to keep on the porch. I have plenty of drinks and snacks handy without having to go in and out the porch door. It saves alot on air conditioning too. Even in the outside heat, everything stays cold. Its nice when I have company, relaxing on the porch not to have to go thru the house to get drinks for everyone. It holds enough to take care of friends thru the whole evening. I really like my porch fridge.
...

This is a great deal. I purchased the 3.9 cu compact refrigerator on-line and picked it up at my local Sears store. It was on sale $35 less than the original price and lower than anything in it's catergory. Once I got the unit home, I opened the carton only to discover the unit was damaged. The carton had very little packing, and I could see how the unit got damaged even if it was slightly dropped. The outside carton is bulky and slick. Anyway, my luck, I called the store and they had no more left to exchange. I was told more were coming within a few days. This did not happen. Located another store 30 miles further away that had a few. I called them and they placed one on hold.

Returned the damaged unit to the original store, and went to the next store to purchase another unit. I asked them to check the contents before loading- and yes, it was damaged. So they got another one from the ware house- it also was damaged. They finally found one that appeared OK. Once...
...

I wanted an upstairs refrigerator to hold milk for young kids. I was concerned that it wouldn't get cold enough to adequately chill dairy, but it did. I measured the temperature to be around 35 degrees. I found the build quality to be better than many others (Magic Check looks like complete junk). I did not test the freezer, because my feeling is that it would be unreasonable to expect a refrigerator of this sort to have a freezer comparable to a conventional one.
...

I read some reviews before I bought this fridge. I should have listened to them. But my options were limited, so I bought it. They are right in saying that only stuff on the bottom, or touching the sides freeze. Anything stacked above, does not. I switched places and put the frozen one on top and the unfrozen on the bottom. And I keep checking to see that the one on top didn't thaw out. Also, this fridge DOES NOT work well in heat. If it's used as a fridge only, or with very little in the freezer, it's fine. I'd take it back, but it's not feasable to do so....

I live in an efficiency apartment. The previous fridge died and the landlord replaced it with this model. I've been using it for 6 months now and it's been such a frustrating appliance that I had to review for others to know what I have gone through.
I got this new during the summer. During warm summer days this fridge would freeze everything in it and cooler days it worked fine. The problem was each day I would turn the temp up or down. Imagine coming home to cook chicken and the top is a block and the other side is soft. The freezer would not keep ice solid during the summer. Once fall hit the fridge worked great but the so-called freezer section started frosting over. Not only that but the frozen food directly on the metal tray would be solid ice but the side towards the top of the fridge would be soft. I was throwing food out left and right. I hate wasting food. Tonight I came home and could no longer shut the freezer door because of the frost build up. Luckily it's 9degrees outside......

I should have listened to the other reviews before bringing the fridge home. I don't know why they bother even attempting to "package" this product, other than for looks. Cardboard (single thickness) and 2 millimeter thick styrofoam (only on two sides) don't do a very good job to protect it from the obvious man-handling products receive in the back.
The box didn't look bad, but after opening it the fridge had obviously been dropped or had something dropped on it. The top side edge was dented and crinkled. It took us 1 1/2 hours at the store to get a replacement-had to open several boxes to find one that wasn't dented. Great little fridge, but good luck getting one that isn't damaged....
