This machine was easy to install (about 30 minutes), and worked like a charm out of the box. It has elegant styling that separates it from the flat-faced monsters of the past. The cool air shots upward instead of straight out, which helps circulate the air better than older models.

This unit cooled my 150 sq. ft. bedroom easily and kept it dry through the night. No waking up in the middle of the night in a humid sweat.

It also cooled my entire 720 sq.ft. house 4 degrees in two hours on an unbearably hot day in August. Not recommended for that large a space except in an emergency.

This unit is quiet. With the fan on high, it sounded like low on previous units I've owned. But it puts out a lot of air.
...

love the size so we have more window. But we hadn't used it more than 3 months before it began the loudest vibration noises I've ever heard from a window AC. It's in our bedroom, so it wakes us up all throughout the night when it kicks on. We had it serviced, but they couldn't fix it. So I'm very disappointed considering we spent the most money on this AC for our bedroom. All the cheaper AC's we bought for other rooms work great!
...

I purchased this A/C last year and have been pleased with its performance. We use it in a bedroom which faces west, so the room gets very warm before bedtime. A friend of mine helped me put it in (two middle-aged women), so the installation was fairly simple. We had to drill some holes and use a screwdriver.

The low profile is the feature that caused me to decide on this A/C, and I've been pleased with its appearance. I think it increased our energy bill about $10 a month, but we don't run it all day. The side expanders were difficult to pull out from the base. For a window unit, it's fairly quiet.

Hey, it does the job! We're cool.
...

Bought this to replace my older Kenmore 5,500 BTU air conditioner after it started to act up. Over all I am very happy with this unit. It is low profile an doesn't take up the whole window. It's design also doesn't detract from the room that it is in. For looks I give it 5 stars. It cools my approximately 11 x 11 bedroom with no problem. During the day I even leave the door open to help out my 12,000 BTU cooling the rest of the house and it still maintains the room's temperature with ease. The remote is great although I feel it makes me even more lazy. It is also nice that the same remote works with my other Kenmore so I know I always have one handy. I find the power save mode to be to annoying for night time sleeping as it is on and off often. However during the day I set the temp and power saver manages the air temp nicely. For sleeping I prefer to leave it in cool mode and let it run constantly. I have no trouble falling and staying asleep with the noise. I'm sure its not the quietest...
...

I purchased two fo these A/C's for two rooms and while it seems that the temperature of the room is lowered to the selected setting, the humidity doesn't seem to be eliminate from the room. I've never seen water drip from the outside of the unit as it does on other A/C's. I have no idea how it's cooling, but the air in the room is unpleasant as it's still very humid, particularly on a humid day. The BTU's are appropriate for the size of the rooms. I doubt that there's a problem with the units as it occurs with both of them. I would not recommend this unit, especially for the money, it's not comfortably cooling.
...

I bought this unit in the summer of 2006 to cool off the Master bedroom in a 900 sq ft house without central air conditioning. What I found is that it cooled off the Master and the overflow kept the main room below 74 as well and removed a ton of moisture from the air. I was thrilled with it. Yes, it is noisy when the compressor cycles on, but most AC's are. I use it to cool the Master down before I go to bed then turn it off and I'm usually fine for the night. It can easily take a room down to 65 if you set the thermostate that low. I also LOVE the timer feature. I could set it to come on in the late afternoon when the house would start to heat up and by the time I got home from work all was cool and the cats were happy. I also love the small profile in the window and the sleek lines. The dent in my electric bill is also amazingly small; it's absolutely energy efficient.

Bought this in '06 and used it in our 13x15 bedroom. We do not have central air and don't need it for the house, but our bedroom faces the west and gets too warm in the evening. I installed it in a south window and it is pretty easy. Being a small unit one person can lift it and get it in place. The unit works great and after 2 years I installed it in the wall just so I would not have to keep taking it in and out of the window. My wife was not too happy that it blocked some of the light coming into the room, but now it's great. I would not recommend this unit for through the wall mounting as the odd shape made it very difficult to cut the correct size hole. Also the vents are too close to the front and do not clear the outside wall.

What I love about it is the timer. I set it for either 1 or 2 hours and hop into bed. The unit cools and dehumidifies the room allowing me to get to sleep quickly and then shuts off after I'm sleeping. It also uses very little electricity...
...

This a/c is the best one I have ever owned. I live in Chicago and summers get pretty humid with stretches of 90 degree days and a couple 100 degree temps too. I use 2 window unit air conditioners since my place is a long and narrow space. I also tend to buy a new air conditioner every 2-3 years once they start to not cool as well.

Normally I buy 8k BTU units. But after reading the other reviews, I thought I would give this guy a chance. This little guy is cooling better and faster than my 8k unit. Plus....the kw used is about 1/2 that of my 8k unit.

I think I'm going to buy a 2nd one since it is on sale. Hopefully I will see a drop in the electric bill since running 2 of these low profile a/c uses about the same as the 8k Kenmore I have running right now.

I find this unit to be really quiet too. I'm a little confused by a couple of reviewes that said it was noisy. Maybe they got a lemon or it needs some insulation by the window.
...

These units a very good looking and quiet, and do a wonderful job of cooling off single rooms. They are energy efficient and have an E.E.R. of 10.7 so running the unit is only projected to cost $45.00 for the season. They are very compact and don't block the whole view of the window. Very easy to install, only a screw driver is needed. Once again Sears comes through for me when I need them most!
...
