CivilWarProfessor says "This is a remarkably affordable but well constructed unit." about Kenmore 7.2 cu. ft. Chest Freezer

I highly recommend this product. I did as much research as I could before buying it, and concluded that it was the best freezer on the market for the price. I like it even better now that I own it. It really is impressively well constructed--much better than a comparable General Electric model that I saw at **********--and it has a lot of space, even though it is a relatively small chest freezer. It will allow us to save money by purchasing cheaper products and storing them, and also offers a great deal of convenience--no more running out of items we use!
...

I am amazed at how much fits in this freezer! We still haven't filled it! The only drawback is the depth (I am only 5 ft tall). I have a hard time reaching into the bottom to get things out. The picture does not do justice to how much space there is inside. It keeps everything very well frozen, even at a low setting. There is a humming noise from the unit, but with eight people in the house, a small mechanical hum is really lost in the rest of the shuffle. Personally, I am not sure that another basket would help the organization, when you are piling things up in a chest freezer. I chose a chest over upright model to conserve cooling energy. Shelves help organize, but are not really effective in a chest. I guess I just need to experiment more with the best organization. It's not fair to call it a drawback when I knew what it was going into the purchase. Overall, still extremely happy with the purchase. A great value and no problems so far.
...

I bought this freezer to store pork from a hog we processed. The freezer is full, but it held the entire processed hog - well over 150 lbs of meat. It is very quiet, and once cold it really doesn't run much (I guess that depends on how often you open the freezer). It is such a great size and doesn't take up much room. I've had it a month and absolutely no complaints.
...

We purchased this freezer on-line and picked it up at a nearby Sears store. The box fit easily into my SUV. The freezer was easy to assemble and is working just fine. In the month that we have had it, there have been no problems, and you can barely hear it running. We have not adjusted the temperature setting from the preset position. It is the perfect size to store all the fruits and veggies from our garden and a whole lot more!
...

kilroy0097 says "Kenmore Chest Freezer is rock solid" about Kenmore 7.2 cu. ft. Chest Freezer

A bought a Kenmore 7.2 cu. ft. Chest Freezer when we moved into a larger home and finally had extra space for a separate freezer. We always ran out of space in our normal fridge before getting the chest freezer. We ordered itonline and picked it up at Sears when we got our alert that it was in. They loaded it up into the van for me and it took two people to unload it and set it up. After letting it sit for 3 hours upright I plugged it in. In a matter of only a couple of hours it was ready. I had set it on 5 outta 1 through 7 temp. control and it froze everything I had in there rock solid. I had to lower the temp. control down to 4. I keep mine in the garage just outside the door into the kitchen. It works like a charm. I also got an additional warranty from Sears. Gives me some peace of mind if it should prematurely break down. Keep in mind that the Sears warrenty does NOT cover accidental damage to the item.
...

I puchase this Sears Freezer about two months ago.I had trouble with it running all the time. I called Sears and was put on hold for about 20 min. Then When I finally got to the right dept.I waited another 20 min to talk to servivce Tech that told me that the freezer was running correctly and if i wanted a home visit it would cost me about $75.00 if they found nothing wrong with it. The energy rating listed on this model was about $30.00.. per year,to operate . I believe that the freezer is costing around $ 20.00 a month to operate not the $ 30.00 per year that was stated.
...

As full time RVers, refrigerator and freezer space is always in short supply. This freezer will ultimately be protected, but stored outside. The manual swears that our local temperatures are in a range not to affect it's function. I sure hope so! Otherwise, we are extremely pleased with the capacity, quiet operation, and overall performance to date. Agreed, additional baskets...even two tiers would be wonderful!!!...

Love it, glad I made the investment. It's quiet, and has plenty of room to store, two removal sliding bins would have been nice. Fits perfect in the allocated space in the dining area of my condo. Didn't take long to freeze newly placed items. Would have preferred to have a color option besides white (black) but it will serve its purpose....

Well made, quiet and efficient. I use it with an external temperature controller for cold storage and lagering of home brewed beer. The compressor shelf limits it's capacity to three 5 gallon kegs, but if you have the smaller 2-1/2 or 3 gallon kegs you can fit two of them on the compressor shelf. I am happy with this freezer....
