Fails to heat up properly even after 40 minutes. This continued after a 3 hour service call when all heating parts were replaced. I have an extended warranty and dealing with customer service is also a problem. NOW IT IS TOTALLY BROKEN
...

jrcarney says "Even before, when this was stainless steel, the heat was low." about Kenmore Electric Grill

I still liked this grill last year, when it was stainless steel and had two side shelves. The only thing it could have been better abou itt was the heat. It takes 20 minutes to heat up and it never gets above about 325-350F and is worse the winter. So if want a really hot grill this needs to have 2 heat coils or get a propane grill..
...

KristyK says "Father's Day Gift" about Kenmore Electric Grill

My husband wanted an electric grill - something quick and portable, so for Father's Day, my son and I picked out this Kenmore grill for him (decent name brand and nice looking). My son spent about 1-1.5 hours unpacking and setting up the grill. My husband was pleasantly surprised, but quickly disappointed. It just simply doesn't get hot enough. We have even tried leaving it on for 30 minutes prior to using it, but it took another 30 minutes to cook our steak (which obviously turned out poorly, tough still undercooked in the middle). I don't know if we got a lemon or what, but it is going back to the store. I think we will stick with Weber when it comes to grills....
