Our $1800.00 four year old Sears Elite Kenmore frig just pooped out. The compressor went bad. We called for an appointment and the repairman was suppose to show up the next day between 8 and 5:00. He never showed nor did he call. At 5:30 I called to check the appointment and they said the service man tried calling twice. That's not true because I had my cell phone on my hip all day. The next appointment they wanted to schedule was four days later. I told them to stick it. I know a Sears repairman who will do it after hours and alot cheaper so I'm going with him. I will never buy anything from Sears again. There's too many other stores out there that want my business more.
...

Still runs great after 6 months and electric bill has gone done 20%. Like the fact that it's a counter depth refrigerator which frees up space in my small kitchen. French doors and the freezer on the bottom make for easy access. Freezer would be better if it had more than one compartment divider and one shelf to help stack/separate items....

We've only had it three days, but I LOVE this fridge. It's so convenient, love the space, the look, the convenience of the drawers, water dispenser, slide outs and more! I don't think we'll go back to a side by side. Bought it in store and our sales lady was FANTASTIC!...

We have owned this refrigerator for a month now and I'm still amazed at how much it has simplified things. No more bending my head upside down looking up through the bottom of shelves to find things. No more digging in the back of the fridge or freezer. We bought the counter depth model and do not miss the back few inches at all! As we have a family member in a wheel chair, we initially made the change for easier accessibility, but we found that the French doors as well as the freezer on the bottom have provided better accessibility for all of us. I am happy at how clean the doors stay - although I admit our kids are young adults. And, no magnets! I also appreciate the buzzer (optional) that lets you know if a door isn't fully shut. I've already recommended this model to one of our friends....

Do NOT order this refrigerator from Sears.com. Go to your local store to place the order. I had nothing but grief as the delivery dept. never reveived my order even after many promises that the problem was solved. It took a month to receive my credit once I canceled my order.
Once I ordered from my local Sears store, I am very pleased with the refrigerator. This is the counter-depth model which is not as deep but has all the features of the larger model.
I have had this style refrigerator since they first came out and would not get any other kind. I was very pleased to see that they are now manking them in more sizes. I like the door shelves that are wide and that things no longer get hidden in the back.
The only thing that I don't like is the freezer section. I wish it had 2 pull out shelves instead of one. This section is deep and things will get buried on the bottom. Otherwise, I am very happy with the refrigherator. Only time will tell if it is trouble free as I have only had this refrigerator......

Reading the reviews really helped me so I thought I'd give something back and give the first review for this refrigerator.
Overall, it is an excellent refrigerator. The outside appearance is absolutely first class. I polished it and it is gleaming in my kitchen. The selection for counter depth french door refrigerators is somewhat slim. Your choices include water and ice in the door, water in the door or water inside the refrigerator. Straight away I eliminated the models with water inside the refrigerator. i drink a lot of water and did not want to have to open the refrigerator anytime I wanted a glass. That left the models with either water in the door or both water and ice. I was tempted to get both but the models that have both have two issues: 1. added complexity by having to have both a freezer function as part of the refrigerator (to produce the ice) and 2. appearance (none of the models that had both were able to provide an pleasing appearance - the fill mechanism and surrounding......

,I've only had this fridge a week, but I love it. I read many negative comments about the full depth one and I was hesitant, but decided to go for it anyway. I just did my thanksgiving shopping, I fit my 25 lb. turkey in the freezer with an 11 lb. ham, I also had 3 boxes of waffles, a tub of cool whip, 4 frozen pie crusts, 3 boxes of frozen vegetables, a bag of tater tots, and 3 packages of meat-- still with room left to spare! The upper part is much bigger than it looks, I fit everything in after this huge shopping and still have plenty of room. I didn't think I would have so much room in a counter depth, but I had no choice I couldn't get a regular one in the space it needed to go in in the kitchen. My only gripe was that the big drawer on the bottom of the fridge wasn't big enough to fit a sheet cake. I thought I'd be able to do that. I did buy an extended warranty- I am almost expecting it to break- not because of the brand, but everyone I know with newer refrigerators has had to have......

I do not yet own this product so I can only comment on its appearance and design, but after seeing it in person I think it may just be the new frig for us. My husband and I have spent a LOT of time looking at all different styles and brands of refrigerators and freezers - including many very high end (and very expensive) brands and models. When I saw this Kenmore Elite in its lovely Black Pearl finish, I was at first just happy to find a counter depth french door refrigerator with a water dispenser on the outside and ice maker that isn't in the frig door. Then I noticed the exterior finish and was really quite smitten. We currently own a black LG side-by-side so I am used to looking at a black refrigerator every day, but it looks nothing like the lovely mirror gloss finish of the Kenmore Elite. What I LOVED about the finish is that it absolutely does not show fingerprints. My 16-month old son was with me in the store and he had his fingers all over it - not a mark. I made a concerted effort......

This has got to be one of the most beautiful refrigerator/freezers around--I saw this exact design featured in a New York Times ad for high-end kitchen renovations. It sits free-standing in our kitchen, so a nice appearance was definitely a concern of mine. It is very impressive to look at, and fits with our other stainless steel appliances.
Ours was just delivered yesterday. Originally I was unhappy with the idea of the freezer being on the bottom, and I was looking for a side-by-sdie, but now that I have it home, I think it's a terrific improvement. Many freezer items I buy (chickens, turkeys, pizzas) are large and/or heavy, and they fit great in this unit and are so easy to put there!. We go in and out of the refrigerator much more often than the freezer, so why not have the fridge part be the most easily accessible?
The photos don't show that there is a very nice slide-out utility shelf in the freezer where we put frozen waffles, pot pies, burritos. The lighting is outstanding in the......
