I have seen a lot of bad reviews on this machine, but I have to say that it has been a great machine for my family. We have owned the Oasis for 5 years and average 3 full loads of launder per day (8 children and two adults).

I have had to do absolutely nothing to this machine until today, other than clean the outer tub and the outside of the inner basket every year. Today the water pump for the drain finally failed. I am replacing the pump will keep going with this machine.

Concidering that the life expectancy of a household washing machine is 5600 loads over a 14 year period, I think we have done very well with the Kenmore Elite Oasis.

I purchased a Kenmore Elite Top Load High Efficiency washing machine in 2009 along with its twin Dryer. Here two years later (after the Warranty) the Washing machine makes a terrible growling sound as it spins the tub. After spending an afternoon disassembling the machine, the problem was identified as a failing drive shaft bearing. Going to the Sears appliance parts website, I find out that the bearing cannot be purchased as a replacement part, the entire inner wash tub must be ordered at a cost of $226. Imagine my shock not only for a major home appliance that did not last a full 2 years (expected 10-20 years of use) but then to repair it I would have to shell out almost a third of the cost of the machine (assuming I perform the repair myseld) and then have no confidence it would last more than another 2 years. Needless to say I am extremely disappointed in Sears and Kenmore. They use to have a good reputation. Apparently the machine I have was made by Whirlpool. The comparable...

We have not had the machine for even 3 years and now the machine makes incredibly loud noises and is out of balance. Tried to get fixed but broken parts showed up. This repair is going to be incredibly expensive. This should not happen to a relatively new high end machine. The service has been slow. We use to be Kenmore loyalists, but not any more!!!

I purchased (cost to much) two sets of Kenmore Oasis Washers and Dryers. One set for myself, one for my grand daughter. We have not had good service with either set. Had to replace control panel on both washers (f1) and on one dryer. Timer would not advance and dryers do not dry very well. Lent traps do not catch all the lent. Had both sets about four years. Very dissatified. Still have GE washer and dryer that is 19 years old and still work like they are new. What was wrong with the timers that were on machines a few years ago? They worked for ever, no trouble. Sears droped the ball on this washer and dryer.

I've always been a fan of Sears Kenmore products. I've always sought them out for quality, durability, and feel that Sears supports their products well. I hate this washing machine. It's loud, my laundry doesn't get clean, and the wrinkles are UNBELIEVABLE. This machine manages to put wrinkles into so called "permanent press" and carries lint over from load to load. Maybe the water level is too low for its own good. I read about some of these issues, but figured it was attributable to user error. SO wrong. The capacity is great, and the dryer is awesome, but if I could take this thing back, I would do it in a heartbeat. I'm selling this house, and can't wait to unload this thing along with it.

My Oasis washer is wonderful and I love being able to do one load of towels a week, the capacity is great. I have also used the delay start several times. I program it to wash a load about an hour before I get up for work and just throw them in the dryer before I shower and get ready. Very convenient! The extra stain treat cyle is great too, it adds a few extra minutes of washing to any cycle ( even delicates). I think the soap/bleach/fabric softener dispensers are a convenience I wouldn't want to live without again. (I always forget to put the bleach in at the right time, and this washer does it for me!) I'd definitely recommend this washer to anyone.

We knew we needed a new washer soon anyway - we had a 23-year-old Kenmore - but a broken dial hastened that decision. After a lot of research, we chose this one, and after 2 months of washing, we are very, very happy with it. I know that the first generation of these washers had a lot of trouble with the circuit boards (which at first made us wary of them), but all indications are that the re-design has been a a sound one.

We had narrowed our choices down to top-loading, Energy Star-complient models with

-at least a 4.0 cubic feet tub capacity,

-a good rating in the gentleness category,

-the ability to modify the washing settings,

-and preferably costing less than $800. (That by itself pretty much ruled out any front-loaders, but it was easier to decide that after hearing too many stories about the front-loaders getting mold on the seal, & not cleaning clothes that well).

The Chief Laundry Washer also preferred one with a Normal/Average cycle that went less than 60...

We have owned this washer for a little over a year now, and we still love it! My wife does a ton of wash...seems like this machine is running all the time, as we have lots of guests. Super Quiet...our washer is in a hallway, only 20 feet from our main living/TV room, and you don't hear it. Capacity is larger than the 25 yr. old unit it replaced, so for us, it's an upgrade.

My wife loves the "delay start" feature, she sets it to start after washing dishes or taking showers etc.

The many wash cycles, from delicate hand wash setting to whitest whites, is another great feature.

Clothes come out clean

This is a good looking washer that, more importantly, works great. Hoping it will last a good long time.

We purchased the Kenmore Elite Oasis model 2803 in late 01/09, to replace a Maytag that was a huge lemon. When I first got the machine, I loved it and bought the matching dryer. I have had the machine fourteen (14) months and it has begun acting up. I get an error code of F51. I started looking online, only to find that there have been serious problems with the electronics in this machine since at least 2006. I found out that it will cost over $200.00 to fix the sensor that is out on the machine, and that it will probably be out again in 3-4 months. I suppose I should feel lucky, because most of the problems I read were for an error code of F1, which means the whole electrical system is out, and that is about $500.00 to replace every 3-4 months. I also learned there is a class action suit, which I am gladly going to join in on. I recommend you do your research on which ever machine you decide to buy. I thought I did a good job, apparently not.

I've been using my new Kenmore Elite Oasis washer for about 6 weeks now, and am enjoying its ease of use and efficient cleaning power. It's much quieter than my previous Kenmore washer and I appreciate the auto-water-level function, as well as the numerous wash cycle features. All in all I think I made a very good purchase.

I bought this washer, because they did not have the top load Maytag washer that I wanted in stock. I've only had this washer for about a week, but I am very impressed. It is quiet and i like the auto water cycle. My clothes came out super clean. Oh, and the best part is that it cut my drying time by more than half. It use to take me all day to do my laundy, now it only takes a few hours. I love my new washer!

I have had my Kenmore Elite Oasis with the agitator for 2 weeks now and I absolutely love it. Because I have always had a traditional washer with the agitator which filled up fully with water, it was a very big decision for me of which type of washer to purchase. I read many reviews on this site and my mind was very boggled because of all the various problems that people were having with a variety of the different types of washing machines. After everything I read and looked at when I went into the store I decided upon the Kenmore Elite Oasis with the Agitator and I couldn't be more pleased. I have found there is no problem with the amount of water that the computor decides to put into the load. One of the reasons that I bought this washer was because if I wanted to I could adjust the water level. But so far the washer has done its job and there is plenty of water in the tub. You can stop the washer during the washload and unlock the lid to check. Also, the tub is nice and big...

I bought the Kenmore elite Feb. 2010, And not even three weeks later it started making noises, jumping. then the electric panel started to flash. I turned the machine off and called the store who advised me to call the service helpline. A tech could not come to my house untill march 6th, with three kids and overflowing hampers I cannot wait a week. So I asked for a swap, expecting that to be a faster tranaction. Well guess what..... the store(s) in the local area are out of them and won't be getting that particular model. So I guess I'll have to go back and start shopping for a new one.

This is a great washer washer so far. Havew only had it for two weeks but works very well no matter what we have thrown at it. The features and settings are varied and work well. The unit spins clothes almost dry, including jeans. Granted I have not had it long so we'll see long term but with the extended protection agreement, I have no worries.

The Kenmore Oasis Washer is by far the gentlest washer I have ever used that still gets your clothesclean. It may take a little longer to do a load but you can wash more laundry than typically washers with less noise and water. I like the fact that it automatically adjusts the water to the amount of clothes.

If the Kenmore Oasis washer is throne off balance by the laundry shifting to one side during the spin cycle it will automatically shut down. I never could start the spin cycle again without starting the wash cycle all the way at the beginning. Overall during the three and a half years of service it has never failed to give me the pleasure of pulling on some clean clothes.

This machine has a known, by Kenmore of an F1 out of balance, problem. After 20 months this F1 comes up at starf of the fill cycle. Many models of this brand where recalled, but not mine.

I called Kenmore they agreed to charge half on the labor but the electical panels are $ 249.

I have been a Kenmore only girl for over 30 years, but this will break my loyalty to the brand! I first purchased the no agitator top of the line Elite and after it distroyed several garments by leaving HE soap powder on the twisted and streched items, I returned it for this model. It is not much better. It twists and streches many things, goes off balance on many loads large and small. The electronic board will not respond when I try to choose the cycle, or modify anything and it has already been replaced. The white cycle takes 72 minutes, this is much too long and seems a waste of energy. It is loud and does not do a great job at all. I loved both the Kenmore washers I have had in the past. Never any trouble with the first, and only two service calls on the second. I miss the old Kenmore products! The paint is even wearing off the top edges and it's only three years old! Never again!

I bought the oasis washer and dryer in July 2007. We wanted to be more energy efficient, but could not use a front loading washer with our laundry room setup. I was generally happy with the equipment, though I noticed that stains did not come out as well as they had in our old washer, and the dryer did not seem to dry as quickly. Then all of a sudden the washer began to make terrible banging noise on the spin cycle, and just got worse over the past month until it was unbearable to be in the house when the washer was in use. We did not get the Sears extended warranty as we have a home warranty. I called AHS to get it repaired. The tech came out and said the bearing had worn out and would need to be replaced as well as the tub. Next came the call from the home warranty company saying the machine is only 2 years old and that could not be normal wear and tear so we must have overloaded the machine. I absolutly never overloaded the machine - I am meticulous about sorting my clothes and rarely...
