I've had this vacuum cleaner for a short period of time, but it's been amazing so far! My floors are cleaner than they have been since I've purchased my house and I'm enjoying fluffy carpets again. What sold me on this machine is its weight and pull. These I assume can be a negative if you are looking for a smaller machine, but I like its heft and suction since I need a heavy duty machine as a pet owner. Also, the dirt sensor lights are enjoyable and make me take the time to ensure that I am vacuuming appropriately instead of doing it quickly! The only minor quibble I have with the machine is the latch to release the dirt from the collection cynlinder. It's difficult to manuever, but not a major concern. This machine does come with lots of attachments including the rotating small brush for pet hair which I love. The headlight is a nice feature as well and the vacuum does not seem to be overly loud.

I purchased this vacuum nearly 2 years ago. The suction is great and the vacuum is very menuverable. The first big issue was that since the filter hangs down in the middle of the canister, hair and what not gets stuck all around the filter and when you have to empty it you need to reach your hand into the canister to pull everything out. The second issue is with the spinning brush/upolstory attachment, great idea, if you want to vacuum the air the brush spins great. If you actually want to vacuum your sofa or the stairs, even just lightly touching it to the surface the brush stops spinning, so the attachment is completely useless. We have a couple dogs, the beater brush needs the hair untangled from it every 3 months or so, I have never had a vacuum that needed cleaned as often. Bagless creates a lot more static than a bagged version, so hair and dust sticks all over the outside of the machine. This vacuum cleans very well but clogs frequently. I echo the reviewers who have said it isn't durable. Mine began having serious problems after about a year and after about 18 months has finally quit working. Despite how well it cleans when it works It's not a wise buy.

I love my new vacuum. It is easy to use. Has onboard attachments, which was a must for me. I have never had a bagless before and was a little leary about the amount of suction I would get from this one, but I was pleasantly surprised. The only surprise I was not so happy about was how dirty my other vacuum was leaving my carpets. This new one is GREAT!!!

I have had this model for about 4 weeks now and love it. I am no longer using my central vacuum system. When I brought this upright home, I was horriffied at what it picked up that my central vacuum was leaving behind! My downstairs is hardwood floors with the exception of a bedroom and wool area rugs here and there... before I was done, I emptied the canister 4 times! I couldn't believe the amount of fuzzies it was pulling up out of the rugs. The suction is great even when using the attachments. Yes it is a heavy vacuum, but the benefits far exceed the weight issue. The dirt indicators are terrific and actually work. I steam cleaned my carpets and them went over them the next day with the vacuum and the dirt indicators lights let me know the carpet was clean. I feel that my house is cleaner and fresher thanks to this great vacuum plus there are no belts to break while in the middle of my cleaning! the canister is also easy to take out and pop right back in with ease....

I check on this sears site for reviews to see what was the best views . to my surprise i found one that was at least 4 stars great. NO NO NO ! this is the most cheap made vacuum i have ever brought. plastic ,flimsily made vacuum i ever had. i am so disappoint, sears was always the way to go and now that this will be the last. i had to save for weeks to buy this,now what i"m stuck with ****.

I have to say, this vacuum has exceeded my expections! I am a real clean freak, but now have realized that the vacuum that I have been using for the past 10 years has not done a good job and my carpet was not clean as I thought. I could tell right away when I used it and the amount of dirt/lint/dust it was picking up. Within the first three days of owning this I have vacuumed the entire house 4 times. I am now starting to see I am making some headway. It should be noted that I just steam cleaned the entire house before I started to use this so I thought my carpet was clean. The suction on this thing is great. Quality is #1. It is heavy, but with the direct drive it is not that bad. I would recommend this to anyone and in fact have done several demos for my friend and family. Do not hesistate to buy this..........it is the cat's meow and you will not be dissapointed.

I love this vacuum. I borrowed my mothers when my less than a year old Hoover with not one , but two belts to change failed once again. This Kenmore Inteli- Clean System is the best. Great suction and easy to empty. We have a dog & 4 cats so I have to vacuum frequently & I love that there is no belt to fail. On every other vacuum I have owned I spend half the time I should be cleaning unscrewing the bottom covered in dust changing belts. Mom is coming back from vacation today & will need her vacuum back, so I am headed to Sears when I get off from work to buy my very own!

This vacuum does an outstanding job of cleaning. We have four large breed dogs that require daily vacuuming and this product does a very good job of picking up hair from carpets and bare floors. The exhaust is located above the floor which limits blowing the hair and dust away from the suction. Unfortunately, the vacuum is made mostly of inferior plastic which does not stand up to daily use. The removable cannister is the worst part. The handle has broken twice, and we have had to send our vacuum to be repaired - not for the motor, but for the cheap plastic parts that continue to fail under normal use. Instead of Sears repair looking at the broken part and ordering it, we were required to send the entire vacuum to the repair facility. Under our extended warranty, we were told that there was no loaner and were without a vacuum for two weeks. The vacuum was useable at the time, and Sears did not offer any alternatives. I would not recommend purchasing this product simply...

I bought the Kenmore Progressive Bagless Upright with Inteli-Clean System about a month ago. This is the first Kenmore I ever purchased. I am extremely impressed with this vacuum. All these years, I have owned Hoover Uprights and finally I decide to switch brands. I am so glad I did, I just don't know why it took me so long. I love my new vacuum cleaner. It is so easy to use, it almost runs itself and it picks up everything, especially pet hair. I have a dog and a cat. With this vacuum, no one will notice that I have pets because it picks up all the pet hair and everything else in it's path. Thank you Sears for my new vacuum, I really love it. I highly recommend this Upright to everyone.

This vacuum is so awesome, I want to marry it. It is lightweight and easy to manuever. The intelli-clean system is the best thing since sliced bread. It senses the amount of particles being sucked into the filter, and lets you know when the area is clean. The bagless is great, and very easy to empty. I like the switch that helps clean the filter, and you can always take the filter out and clean. It is worth every penny. Oh, I also love the purple!!...

Just picked this up directly from the store and assembled it with ease. I was thrilled with the results. Initially I was skeptical of the "intelli-clean" system but found it to be quite nice. This Kenmore Purple Bagless Upright is a bit heavy so staying on one floor is advisable but the extra-long hose with the handi-vac attachment did wonders for my stairs. I trust the Kenmore brand and was pleased with the value for the price.

I thought it was indulgent to buy such a high-end vacuum, but I'm glad I did. I bought it on a friend's recommendation, and I'll recommend it to others. It cleaned the hardwood floors beautifully - no second pass with a swiffer. The carpets look great. The mini attachment pulled so much dust out of the sofa that it's two shades darker now. Very easy to use on the stairs. The air feels cleaner, and my house looks a hundred times better. Well worth it....

I purchased this vacuum 1 week ago...with a bit of hesitancy after reading all the reviews. We have carpet, hardwoods,3 children, 2 labs and a cat. We couldnt be happier with this vacuum. I love the fact that you can switch from carpet to hardwoods on the handle...no hassle at all. People complained about the weight...Not to much of a problem. It's a bit heavy to lift but once it's turned on it's lighter then my previous Bissell and is not difficult to push. My husband had back surgery 3 weeks ago and he has no problem with it either. I particularly like the fact that I can leave the vacuum at the base of the stairs and make it all the way to the top without lugging the entire thing up. The hose is long and the suction is great. Keep in mind, it's only been a week. Should my opinion change, I will repost the problems. I did purchase the additional warrenty. We vacuum EVERY day and it was worth it to me to have it....

I know that other reviewers mostly liked this vacumn, (maybe I got a lemon?) but,I bought this vacumn based on consumer reviews and because I have a very hairy golden retriever. While the suctions seems ok, it really isn't any better than my old Dirt Devil, and it seems to be really cheaply made. The plastic attachments will bend if you apply any type of pressure on them, and also there is a small piece of plastic that broke right off one of the attchment pieces. The Handi Mate Jr no longer rotates, and the dirt sensor doesn't work anymore. I just bought this vacumn in December of '08 and here it is only May '09. I would love to be rid of it, but am told by Sears that it can only go out for repair. Seriously, don't waste your money on this flimsy made vacumn. It isn't worth it....

This vacuum is great. Besides being able to "see" the dirt my other vacuum missed, I've noticed that it's also bringing back the carpets "piling" if that's the correct terminology. In other words, I can see my footprint in the carpet now and that wasn't happening with my other vacuum. My previous vacuum was the blue Kenmore Progressive with a bag. This new bagless Progressive vacuum has much more suction....

Very good suction power, which is what I cared most about. I have a couple cats, and this thing always picks up a ton of hair in their favorite lounging spots after just a few days. The dirt sensor feature is cool, and seemed to work excellent at first, but after just a few weeks, it usually just stays on the max setting, like my carpet is always dirty no matter how much I vacuum. This may be because my carpet was extremely dirty at first, and I've just got clean the thing out really well, but it's kind of annoying. Aside from the above, no other complaints; very easy to use, nice long cord, & easy cleanup (make sure to take out the filter and bang it, gently but very firmly on its end against a hard surface out side in order to really clean it well). It's not super light, but I wouldn't call it very heavy either - although I'm a 28yr old guy, so the story may be a bit different for someone much older. Hand tools are very nice too....

I have two dogs who love to bring in "treasures" from the outdoors which might include gumballs, leaves, or even small sticks. This vacuum cleaner did not hesitate in picking up everything in its path on both carpet and hardwood floors. The amount of pet hair it sucked up was amazing. Only one of my dogs sheds, but there was enough hair in the canister to make a stuffed animal by the time I was through cleaning. The canister is also very easy to "dump" into the garbage. I would highly recommend this vacuum to anyone with pets or even those without who just want extra clean floors and carpet....
