I have had the Kenmore Ultra Wash Quiet Guard 4 for 2 years at least now and I would not recommed it. The glasses always come out dirtier than they go in. Very frustrating. I've taken to handwashing the glasses instead of putting them in the dishwasher. Why can't someone make a good washer that is reasonably priced? This is the second dw we have had in 9 years. There was a day when an appliance worked for more than a few years before it crapped out. Who cares if it is quiet if it doesn't clean?

Overall, I am quite dissatisfied with this product. Initially, it seemed to clean fairly well, but over the years( I have owned this appliance for approx. three (3) years ) it has performed poorly. The dishes DO NOT come out completely clean, unless they are pre-washed to such a degree as to be clean. What's the point in owning a dishwasher if one must hand wash the dishes before they go into the appliance? One must also use a 'dishwasher cleaning product' on a monthly basis. I was told that using said product would assist in keeping the dishwasher's performance at maximum. I truly don't notice much of a difference, if any, when I use the cleaner. I must say that I am glad that I purchased a five (5) year warranty. At the very least, I can have the dishwasher checked out on an annual basis. Buyer Beware...UPDATE as of 2/10/12...My less than three year old dishwasher now needs a new waterpump! Once again...the best part of purchasing this product has been and still is the fact that...

This is my second Kenmore. The first unit only lasted 5 years. This second unit first broke down in 2 years. (Last year) I was able to fix it. (Switch in control panel.) Now the wash cycle will not run, the spray arms will not spray water and do not turn. The dishwasher is only threes years old. I'm not fixing it this time. I'm buying a more reliable product and it will not be a Kenmore. The Kenmore brand use to be a brand that had a good reputation. I have a 25 year old Kenmore vacuum cleaner that still runs. Now Kenmore is just a label on a poorly built import. Stay far away from the Kenmore brand.

quiet - can be in kitchen without knowing it is running. energy saver - I can air dry my dishes water saver -I rarely used my prior dishwasher since could not do small loads...

This dishwasher looks great in my kitchen that was designed with the sleek black and stainless steel look. My children are rough on things and this dishwasher has taken a beating on the door by being slammed shut by the underside of my teenage childrens tennis shoes. It still looks great and the finish on the stainless has not yet dented or scratched. The filter in the bottom is easy to access view and clean by simply wiping out with a paper towel and has been good at preventing any kind of plugged drain line. I absolutely love the stemware holder for the wine glasses, not a single one of my wine glasses has broken or shook loose from the holders. It cleans well. I have found that regular use of rinse aid keeps the cleaning process effective. The location and spacing of the rack and utinsel holders keep those plastic serving spoons from falling down the hole and melting on the heater. I really like that feature, because previous models seemed to melt away every cheap plastic spatula or......

I am EXTREMELY disappointed in this product and the Sears service. Of the 18 months I've owned the Kenmore dishwasher I had quality clean dishes maybe during the first two months. Since then I've had 4 service calls, parts replaced, and service reps instruct me on the best type of dishwasher soap, JetDry, and cleaner for the unit. In the end, my dishes still come out smeared, sauces stuck on, spots... the glasses and the flatware are the worst. When having guests, we handwash everything to make it look presentable. I recently visited a friend in another state with the same dishwasher and guess what? Same problem! I have followed all Service staff advice and nothing changes. I will never buy a Kenmore OR a warranty package again. It's a scam!

Love this diswasher. The top rack is perfect for my Tommee Tippee baby bottles and holds them in nice and secure. I do wish there was more space on the top for all my baby and toddle dishware, but over all, this is a great product for families, coffee drinkers or anyone that uses the top rack as much as I do!

We've had it for almost two years. Three things strike me at this point:

1. It is so quiet that you really cannot tell it is on.

2. Unless it is poorly loaded (which my 13 year old often does), the dishes get really REALLY clean.

3. We always run it in water saver mode, and it takes a long time from start to finish, maybe 3.5 hours total with cooling. But if you need a fast wash, it does a great job in 45-50 mins but uses a lot more water.

One little part broke, a plastic bracket that held the pivoting glasses rack from lying down. I went back to Sears, and the saleman took a good one off a floor model, and gave it to me on the spot. Wow.

Highly recommend.

We have had this product 3 years and bought it based on a **************** recommendation.

About a year ago the dishes stopped getting totally clean. We rinse all dishes before putting them into the machine. Sears came out and for over $100 cleaned it. Two months later the same problem started again. This has been very frustrating. We don't think a product this new should have an issue with its main job--getting your dishes clean. Yes, it is very quiet, but we need clean dishes!!

So I'm old; there only one alternative! You don't get younger. We've had a KENMORE Dishwasher for 22 years and it yet works perfectly. Never any mechanical repairs. (The springs on the door have broken a couple of times, but I just fixed those myself. After 22 years my "springs" aren't too good either.) We have a different brand washer in another part of the house that is only a few years old and it doesn't clean nearly as well as the "ancient KENMORE."

We just purchased this dishwasher and we are very pleased with it so far. It is not noisy and does a great job cleaning the dishes. I would recommend this dishwasher. The stainless steel looks great.

Our old Whirlpool dishwasher was installed in 1998 when we built our house, and it worked well until the end of last year when we had service technicians out several times, and even though a couple times it worked for one or two washes, it always acted strangely after that--wouldm't shut off, hummed, etc. We had to flip the breaker to get it to stop, so finally we got a new one in December--the Kenmore Ultra Wash Dishwasher (Quiet Guard Deluxe). I loved the Power Scour choice in the store, but when it was delivered that option was called Turbo Zone; and it didn't get a dirty pot cleaned--that I'd wiped out. It had to be cleaned with a scrubbee by hand. So I still wipe my dishes down and scrub the hard ones, which I was hoping not to do. But it's much quieter. (Sometimes I wonder if it's working.) And the bottom seems larger; I can get bigger pans, etc. in it, which I appreciate. And I like the upright silverware basket and adjustable racks though I have to wrestle with...

This is the best dishwasher I have experienced in my 67 years! When we have company, I like to run it for them just to show them how quiet it is. It is so quiety one forgets it is running. Someday, all dishwashers will run this quiet, but I have mine now. Oh, yeah, like clean dishes? No worries with this dishwasher. It is worth the cost (especially when bought on sale : )

The unit is nice looking and quiet when washing. The wash bays are huge and can fit alot of dishes and silverware!

Be ware of the handle. Very funky. Doesn't click down all the way and difficult to get a grip on when trying to open.
