I purchased this grain mill several years ago and I've gotten a lot of good use out of it. I researched before purchasing it and found good reviews. It is simple to use and I have ground anything from garbanzo beans to corn to winter wheat. Initially, it was difficult to seat the grain mill fully into the mixer but it has gotten easier with time. You can slip it in and grind just a cup or two of what you need. You can find discussion forums on the Kitchenaid website about how to get the most out of it and keep the mixer from overheating when using the grinder for larger quantities....

I read the other review about how long it takes and got worried. But it actually works extremely fast. Ours yeilded about 2 quarts in 20 minutes. But we had to run it through at "halfcracked" first (which goes extremely fast), and then at the finest setting. Would recommend this attachment to everyone....

I bought this for grinding oatmeal as a skin treatment, but it takes forever: about 30 minutes on med. high speed yields about 2 cups. I don't want to overheat the motor, so I avoid the highest speed. It does a good job of finely grinding the oats, but you have to be very patient....

This is a great product and so labor saving. It makes grinding your own wheat, corn, and other grains very appealing. Highly recommend this product for any and all folks, no longer do you need to be strong to grind or have a commercial kitchen to have lots of space, you can do it in your own private home without taking up much room!...
