I dont feel like the manual is as bad as everyone says, but the Nikon Field Guide book by Busch is an awesome companion.

I struggled between buying this and the D60 - not having used that I think this is good enough, if not perfect for someone like me taking pictures of a new baby, running dogs, mountain landscapes, etc. I was worried about the shutter speed, but it is plenty fast and doesnt miss a thing.

I got the SanDisk Extreme III 4 GB SDHC card and I think it works great with the camera - read/write speeds of 20MBps - so I feel shots are fast with fast followups. I took 600+ jpg photos easy easy while skiing without worrying about room.

I have really enjoyed this camera. Great price for a starter DSLR. I have recommened this to a few friends as a nice way to venture into digital. A little noise on the pictures, but nice colors and clarity. Nikon has really done a good job of making a camera easy to use and still turn out good quality pictures for the beginner photographer. This is one camera that I will keep in my collection for a long time to come....

As an aspiring photographer, this camera does the trick as a good starter. The pictures can be a little noisy, but the color and quality is great. Easy to use and so much nicer than a point-and-shoot....
