I definitely like this phone but for the price it just doesn't seem up to par. It feels a little bit outdated. Almost everyone I know has an iPhone so maybe I am just comparing it too much to that phone, which I have to admit, looks and does things in a much cooler way :) Also, I'm a big texter so I'm not a fan of the fact that it deletes data. It also seems to freeze and just turn off by itself. Memory is also very small. I wouldn't recommend this phone .. it's certainly nothing very exciting.
...

Meredith says "Blackberry delivers with the Pearl 8100" about RIM BlackBerry Pearl 8100

I really love my pink Blackberry which I affectionately call my pinkberry. Verizon Wireless is my service provider who offers pretty good deals on Blackberries when you're a long time customer or of course signing a contract.

My Blackberry Pearl has been dropped about 100 times but keeps on ticking! One complaint is the keyboard. It's a little small and tough to type on compared to the Apple iPhone, Blackberry touch screen and Blackberry Curve. Other than that, I have been very pleased with the Pearl. The size is reasonable and weight is light.
...

SHC-LailaC says "The Blackberry Pearl is almost perfect" about RIM BlackBerry Pearl 8100

It's tiny, easy to use, and does everything a regular blackberry does. Even though I've heard complaints about its keyboard but I found it very easy to type. My only complaint, and I'm not sure if it's the Pearl or Sprint, is that once in while, all my messages will get deleted. This has led to me missing a couple of important texts and much confusion. Overall, I love the pearl!...

thatmanguy says "Great when it works ... a hassle when it doesn't" about RIM BlackBerry Pearl 8100

The Blackberry 8100 Pearl is a great phone, it really is. It has changed a lot of what I do, how I receive news, and even how fun it is to drive!

First off, I'm on the Sprint network, They offer great service and billing and have a great network in the Atlanta area, I can't vouch for other areas in the nation. From what I hear each service provider's network varies greatly in each metro area. I also have the $30 a month Blackberry data plan, which includes unlimited text, GPS. internet, and television on this phone.

As far as practical features go, I'd rate the GPS and the internet access as the best features. The GPS is just as accurate if not more accurate than my wife's Tom Tom and the internet gives me the ability to check my work email and the latest news whenever I need to.

The text typing is amazing, it really does predict the words you regularly use and it makes texting and emailing on the fly really easy. The only problem is that with each of the two phones I've had for......

Black Berry Pearl 8100
I have had this phone for just over a year and already is it broken. I keep it in a case and take great care of it, it just is not a good phone for a woman on the go. My back piece does not stay on anymore so my battery is exposed all the time. My rollerball just stops working at the worst times. I would not reccommend you buy this phone. Plus the service is expensive for an already expensive phone.
...

I have had my blackberry pearl for 9 months. I got a refurbished phone and so far have had no problems with it. I use it for calls, texting and as a PDA. I have not used the email service because I do not want to pay the extra charges on my cell phone bill each month. I do use the calendar on my phone, and I do sync it with my computer. Some options on the phone were complicated to find when I first got it. I couldn't figure out how to blue tooth, but one of my students got one and she taught me how! Overall, I have been pleased with the phone....
