Have had a few issues with this washer. Have had it come unbalanced a few times that causes it to move a few inches away from the dryer. Got this one because if the disruption saying it is self balancing.... not the case all the time. Not very quiet either. Other then that issue it seems to do a good job washing clothes.

After having top load washers for several years, this is pleasant experience. The front load allows several pair of jeans or large bath towels to be washed, coming out clean. With the top load washers, I would have to sometimes push the clothes down into the water....

I decided to upgrade to the new Samsung VRT from the reviews in July 2010. I got rid of my Maytag Neptunes purchased in July 99. For weeks I only washed regularly worn clothes. No problems, no worry's, very happy. Hockey season started and I had a pile of sweaty, stinky, jersey's and some jeans from doing the year end yard work. Put them in, selected extra wash, extra rinse and high soil. When done and putting in the dryer, I could smell the soap and downie barely covering the sweat stink. I thought, nan, it was just me. Nope, they were worse than when I put them in the first time. So I washed again. Really sad, still nasty sweat smell. I moved on to another load of dress shirts. OUPS, that was a huge mistake. They came out smelling like the hockey gear. I called the repairman for a warranty. He came out next day. Laughed and said, these machines only have enough water to get the cloths slightly wet, they do not get submerged in water like the old machines. He checked water levels, settings,...

I'm glad I didn't have my old, rusty, agitator-type washer and dryer hauled out of the garage when we installed our new Samsung VRT washer & dryer upstairs. Because when I REALLY want clothes clean, I use them instead of the Samsungs. The Samsung washer is only good for delicates, and clothes that just need freshening. When I attempted work clothes loads or bedding, I could literally take them out of washer and there were still patches of dry cloth where the water never even reached the clothing or fabrics. If I don't pre-treat each and every stain, they are guaranteed to be there when I take clothes out! Bottom Line: These are pretty machines, but really only for novelty use.

This is a surprisingly great washer. I went to get just a regular front loader and read some reviews on the Samsung and decided to give it a try. First off it is such a water saver, yet the clothes come out cleaner than any washer I have ever had. The clothes seem almost dry when you take them out to put them in the dryer. It take half the time to dry this extra size load, as it did my regular load in the old washer.

I can highly suggest this washer for all of its features. The Sears associate that we talked to, was very knowledgable about all the features and the price comparison shopping. Love it.

Due to limited space we had our washer/dryer stacked. It is by far smoother ,quieter and more attractive than the previous brand. And the price was outstanding. Delivery service was outstanding and professional.

This machine has great cleaning power. I use 1/3 the amount of water as my old machine and clothes come out cleaner. The spin cycle has little to - no vibration as compared to any other washers in the spin cycle and has the ability to balance out loads in the spin cycle. The spin cycle removes the water so well that it takes 1/2 the time in the dryer and saves me money. I love this machine.

My wife was very uneasy about this purchase do to price. After use of the product I asked her comments for this review and this what she had to say.

Energy savings is present and she watched the water and utility bill for changes and she said it is a difference, for the better. The design was a plus, the silver care wash is a great feature using cold water to sanitize, very nice. Clothes are over half dry when the spin cycle is complete, big energy savings when drying. Here are a few small cons. Price is Higher than a normal washer, but for the pros of the machine it is a pay off. The stands should come standard that is a negative. Draining the tub at the bottom is a small irratation, without stands a real pain. Overall she says it's a smart buy not a buy for the price of the product, but for the economical savings and features. Suggested buy if your in the market for...

I love this samsung 4.0 model, I never knew that I would but, all I can say now is, I don't know what I would do without it, it's the best to me, I would never go back to the other brands, it runs quiet and most of all I love the sweet little melody it makes when the cycle is finish, not to mention, how much less water it takes to do my clothes, my clothes are so beautifully clean and fresh everytime I have use my new samsung and I would recommend this item to friends and family 1000 percent, Thanks.

My husband and I purchased our FOREVER home for retirement one year ago. We were particular about the appliances we purchased since our selection would have to be worry free. We selected the SAMSUNG VRT SUPER CAPACITY WASHER/DRYER. We would not write a review short of a year of trial and error. Now, we are qualified to submit our honest opinion/review of this appliance. We have not been disappointed. With moving, we did hugh loads of all kinds of fabric. Clothes come out wrinkle free and practically dried from the washer. While ironing in the laundry room, I bearly can hear the washer/dryer and it never shakes! NEVER. Sears delivery was fast/easy and courteous. Salesperson was knowledgeable and took care to make certain we looked at all our options. Verified our measurements of our customized washer/dryer cabinet to fit our selection. After raising five children and spending many a day in the laundry room, we can truly say this SAMSUNG VRT SUPER CAPACITY WASHER/DRYER...

I purchased my Samsung HE, large capacity washer and dryer in spite of some of the negative reports I read about front load washers. Boy I am glad I did. This is the best laundry purchase I have ever made in 40 years. The washer is efficient, user friendly, and does a wonderful job so much so that a shirt destined for the rag bin has been restored to the closet. If anyone is having a problem with these items they are not reading the directions or making use of the many options available for individual load requirements. I feel like I won something! I have nothing negative to say about this pair.

We have enjoyed using this machine. The Samsung VRT Washer is a beauty. But, I did have some problems with the Sears personnel that delivered it as they did not know how to stack the dryer on the washer.

Further, I have not been able to register the unit on-line with Samsung as the site will not accept the numbers that I copied off the machine.

We got a great deal on our Samsung front loading washer. With the tax credit, electric company rebate and water company rebate we will only pay $350.00 for the machine.

So far, we're very impressed with the washer. It is extremely quiet, and runs smoothly. In addition to the automatic cycles, the machine offers choices in water temperature, spin cycle speed, and dirt level. The only thing you can't select is water level, the machine figures that out on its own. I like that the panel tells you how long the wash cycle will take.

I bought some liquid HE Tide because that was recommended, but I also used the regular liquid Tide and both worked fine.

My family (including the dog) loves to watch the laundry spin, and they've even been excited to do their own wash. But as we know, that won't last forever.

I purchased the Samsung VRT steam washer and dryer in May 2009. It is now July 2009 and Samsung has been unable to repair or replace the broken washer. The glass door on the washer has been cracked since May and I have spent countless hours on the phone with Samsung to get this problem resolved. Samsung has been difficult to deal with and they don't have record of conversations I have had with their customer service representatives. I would not recommend Samsung products as the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing and if you have a problem with one of their products you can count on waiting a long time to get the problem resolved!

I bought this machine to replace a Kenmore front loader that we had for five years. The Kenmore was nothing but trouble and vibrated terribly. I love the Samsung! The vibration is very minimal. The VRT really works. It is also a very quiet machine. It cleans great and is gentle on the clothes....

After owning this washer (and matching dryer) for about five months, I'd offer these observations: -- No mechanical problems whatsoever. Only service call was to have Sears come out and reinstall the dryer hose after it rattled loose after only a couple days because contracted delivery service didn't even bother to put a hose clamp on it. The machines have functioned flawlessly. -- Easy, intuitive controls. Don't be alarmed by the dizzying array of lights. Amazing breadth of washing/drying options. Some of them indeed can take a LONG time, like 90 minutes with the Silvercare cycle, but worth it for the results. -- We didn't buy this unit for the Silvercare, but have learned to love it. Gives clothes, especially towels, workout clothes, etc, a wonderfully fresh, sanitized feel and smell, and you only need to do it once in a while. Well worth the extra wash time (it's essentially an additional silver-ion rinse cycle added on.) -- As to the VRT: It works. Our laundry room is on the second......

We have been using this washer for 5 months now and I have no regret whatsoever. Our laundry area is in the 2nd floor and I don't even hear it when I'm downstairs but I did put an industrial mat which is recommended for 2nd floor laundry area, but still. We got it when it was a fairly new model to Sears and the sales rep was convincing me on getting kenmore but we decided to get this after reading good reviews from other sites. The silver wash is excellent for towels and beddings....

Samsung's repair service did promplty come to diagnose the problem of the fabric softener remaining in the dispenser after the wash cycle was finished, and it is NOT the fault of the washer. So here's a tip for anyone buying: this was happening because we switched to our own water intake hoses, because we wanted BETTER metal hoses with j-shaped elbows, so that we could place the washer closer to the wall. These hoses included flood-safe water-restrictor valves in the hoses, which lowered water pressure to the washer, and did not give it enough pressure to move the softener to the wash tub. We switched back to the standard hoses, and have absolutely no issues now. GREAT WASHER AND DRYER! This old dog is getting used to the new trick....
