After purchasing a lawnmower in May of last year I was talked into applying for and using a Sears Mastercard with no interest for one year. On the first bill I was charged interest, called customer service, they appologized and "fixed" the account. The second bill comes with an interest bill. This has been a theme for 8 months. I end up spending a half hour to an hour everymonth on the phone with these people to fix a problem they assure me is fixed each month. I am in the process of filing a complaint with my state department of commerce. Not only do they have some of the worst customer service imaginable, I believe that Sears Mastercard is Criminal. During the most recent call this morning I was told that I must submit my request to remove their fradulant charges in writing. I have been cheated. Do Not Get This Card Unless You Are Comfortable With Being Stolen From.

Was very dissatisfied with this credit card. Card was cancelled even though it was being paid on time. Apparently they do random credit checks, and if your credits starts getting blemmished even if you are paying your card, they still cancel it! Dumb if you ask me!...

My parents it to had this card for a long time. To resolve at moments that towards lack but also memory that to say that it was a debt for all the life.I do not recommend it because like all card of credit the interests are high giving minimal payments pay in just like in thirty years. I had a Sears CITI Card for several years but had not used it.

I recieved a promotional offer of 0% intrest rate for 24 months for purchases and card transfers.

I used the card for a large purchase and later was told it didn't qualify for the 0% intrest rate because the purchase was not made at Sears.

Now I'm stuck with an extremely high intrest rate. My first months intrest was over $200.00. Now I am borrowing money form my 401K to pay it off as soon as possible.

I will close my Sears card when the debt is resolved and will not use it anymore.

I got the card a few years ago to buy some appliances and tools with their seemingly great promotions. I never used more than half of my credit line, never missed a payment, and always paid more than the minimum payment. After a year or so of loyalty, I noticed without warning that they began charging default rates on the first item I bought. When I looked into it, I found that they had applied my last several payments towards the "new" charges, declaring the promotional no-interest charges as unpaid. Dirty trick but apparently a legal one. Frustrated, I stopped using the card and paid it off in full, leaving the account open but dormant so it wouldnt damage my credit score. To add insult to injury, after the banking collapse, I got a notice saying that my interest rate was being jacked up to 29.99% in response to the new regulations enacted to protect consumers against the very scams this company was practicing. Never again will they get another dime of my money.

I am writing to give fair warning to all. Do not apply for a Sears credit card. They are a bunch of scammers.

My story.

Back in 1/28/2010 I purchased a mattress from Sears using the 18 month no interest deal the had going. Nine months later I still have yet to receive a bill from them. I called them up to inform them of this and the corrected the problem. They were sending my bill to a wrong address. Durning my phone call I set up automatic bill payment with the customer service rep. I told him to make my payment eaqualy so in 18 months I am payed in full. We last Monday I was informed that I have to pay 200.00 in intrest and late fees because I didnt not finish paying of my mattress in time. My argument to them is shouldnt my 18 months start from the day I got my first bill? I mean how am I supposed to pay for something If I dont have a bill? This is the thanks I get for calling in to inform them they have not billed me. Oh and thier customer service is horrendous. I this company has...

I applied for this card in order to get 10% off on an electric range I was buying and it was the biggest mistake I made in purchases for the past 20 years. Half of the time I was unable to get on their website and they gave no alert on payments due. I ended up paying $60 in late fee and interests for a $800 purchase. Thier interest rate is one of the highest. I've never been late on my CC payments for the past 20 years. Do not apply in order to get that 10% off, else you will end up paying more for your purchase in the future.

I MOVED LAST OCTOBER AND UPDATED MY ON LINE SEARS ACCOUNT WITH MY NEW ADDRESS(AS I DID WITH SEVERAL OTHER BANKS AND COMPANIES). HOWEVER, IT SEEMS THAT SEARS CREDIT IS NOT CONNECTED TO THE ON LINE ACCOUNT WHERE I RECEIVE MY STATEMENTS AND PAY MY BILL. SO, A FEW MONTHS AGO THEY SENT MY NEW SEARS CARD TO THE WRONG ADDRESS AND NOW THEY ARE UNWILLING TO CHANGE MY ADDRESS OR SEND ME A NEW CARD, ALTHOUGH I HAVE CALLED NUMEROUS TIMES AND EVEN TALKED TO A SUPERVISOR. BECAUSE THE CORRESPONDENCE WAS SENT TO THE OLD ADDRESS (AFTER POST OFFICE FORWARDING HAD EXPIRED) EVERYTHING WAS SENT BACK TO SEARS CREDIT. ACCORDING TO THEM. THIS PUTS ME OUT OF THE LOOP AND THEY CANNOT CHANGE ANYTHING. WHY IS IT THAT THEY ARE NOT CONNECTED TO MY ON-LINE ACCOUNT???? I tried to pay off our balance 4 times and Sears found ways not to take my money and charge us late fees. The call center representatives had to reverse 6 different charges from my account. They ranged from late fees, over-charged interest, phone bill payments, and returned phone payments. The call center representatives were often uninformed and didn't know how to handle certain situations. Also if you choose to pay off your credit card in the store, it has to be cash or check.

The card is a total scam!!! Sears finds way to take your money and it feels like they are doing it on purpose. If they aren't doing it on purpose then they must have the most unorganized and inefficient store credit card program imaginable.

It is so disappointing to like shopping at Sears and the products they offer, but to have such a different experience with the Sears credit card. This has changed my mind about Sears as a company and I doubt that I will be shopping there again.

We've had a Sears credit card forever, and yesterday we went to buy a new dishwasher and when it was rung up, the computer screen said that our account had been closed. It was very embarrassing, and if it wasn't for the fact that that was the only place to buy a Kenmore, I would've walked out. After purchasing the dishwasher, without the 12 months no interest, and without the additional 10% off for using our Sears card, we walked out of the store and went ********* to buy the rest of the stuff we were out shopping for. Too bad, lost a lifetime customer.

Sears helps you build credit! If your not approved for the sears gold card, a lower limit plastic Is available. The interest rates seem average, today. Did you know- the SEARS REWARD card is similar to the Kroger or CVS card? you can use it and the CC together, which saves some extra cash. Overall, I think the card is deepndent on the consmer consumption. Just buy that $2,000 Kenmore ELite washer and dryer duo, pay it off in a # years and you've made a nice investment, helping building that credit limit to better rewards.

I have had a sears Plus account for around 18 years and it has been great until now.

I have had made many large purchases with it over the years B/C of their no interest for 1 or 2 year offers, none of which were paid off in the alotted time. The result was you paid interest on the unpaid balance.

Yesterday I received a email that I was over limit. I could not understand this B/C I had a 2000.00 plus limit and a 1100.00 balance. And have not used this card for 2 years, the last purchase was a TV with no interest for 2 years.

OK now heres the shady Citi Bank move. I called sears credit thinking someone was charging on my account, but what happened was citi bank tacked on all the interest that I would have paid because the purchase was not paid off in the 2 year (The sale rep at Sear did not tell me of this new policy during purchase only no interest for 2 years) But that was not what put me over. Apparently CITI Bank lowered my credit limit to 1300.00 last month and then tacked on the 900.00...

I got this card to buy some tools for work as one of their promotional gimmiks when you check out, they ask if you want a sears card. I RECEIVED ONE AND HAD A $7,000 DOLLAR CREDIT LIMIT FOR OVER A YEAR. I PAID OFF THE INITIAL $200 DOLLAR PUCHASE AND DID'NT USE THE CARD AGAIN FOR A YEAR, BOUGHT $250 WORTH OF TOOLS, AND THREE DAYS LATER I GOT A LETTER IN THE MAIL STATING THAT MY CREDIT LIMIT WAS LOWERED TO $250. I HAVE VERY GOOD CREDIT AND DO NOT EVEN NEED THEIR STUPID CARD BUT THIS TYPE OF SERVICE JUST ****** ME OFF!!! SO I WENT TO ***** TODAY AND BOUGHT MY WIFE THE NEW REFRIGERATOR FOR $1589.78 ON THEIR APPROVED CREDIT CARD I GOT TODAY WITH ZERO INTEREST ON THIS PUCHASE!!

Sears Credit Card. Unbelievably poor customer service. Sears will not honor their 12 months deferred interest no payments promotion on large appliances. Customer service reps always put you on hold for 30 minutes no matter what time you call, then transfer you to another rep without saying anything, then kick you back to automated call system. Answer all of their online inquiries saying " you must call us". Good idea, I want to be put on hold for 30 minutes. I think they are non-responsive to dispute resolution because it allows Sears Card to charge $39.00 late fees and 29.99% default interest rates. You cannot resolve anything if you cannot get a response. Never, never use Sears Credit Card to purchase anything at Sears.

I acquired my Sears card under duress: I desperately needed work done on my card and it was offered to me with a deferred, no-interest payment plan so I took it. Good thing, too, because the normal rate of interest is astronomical! Any future use of this card will be during deferred payment/no interest sales only!...
