Great mower. Bought it online with pickup in store, and it literally took me 5 minutes from time I parked til I drove home with the mower. The online purchasing experience was fantastic. The mower is awesome too. My only gripe is the bagging system--and this is just like all the other rear baggers. Too small, and just awkward to attach, etc. But the mower starts right up with barely a full pull, it cuts awesome, and it's very powerful. It almost dragged me down the driveway the first time I squeezed the handle the whole way! But it has variable speed, so you just have to squeeze it gently. All in all, an excellent mower and I am very happy with it.
...

When I first got this mower I loved it. It started easily and the speed was great for getting the lawn mowed quickly. After a month or two a vibration developed and began to shake the whole thing apart. The two screws that hold the motor cover on came off, one of the bolts in the muffler came out, I've tightened the torx bolts in the frame and have lost one. I got on the Sears website and looked up some troubleshooting tips. I was directed to replacing my blade. I did that and it helped a bit. I finally took it into the store when I bought it and the young man assured me that it was still under warranty and that they would call if there was any problem. I got the call and man was there a problem. They estimate the repair to be $142. The parts include a blade hub, blade, filter, belt, plug, oil seal, crank shaft and crankcase gasket. I've not yet spoken to the service center but I am really not happy with this bill. It seems that if you have a nicely manicured lawn and never put any stress...
...

This is my 4th lawn mower within 2 weeks. 1st was a lawn boy, ( drive was slipping ) 2nd was the honda, ( stalled lots of times while cutting ) 3rd was craftsman, ( lift system was cheap, handle was cheap, rear wheels draged while pulling backwards ) 4th is a snapper........drive system is great ( less moving parts ) motor is just as strong, Lift system is strong, bagging system is old school which is great. You would have thaught 3 times is the charm but in this case so far its 4th time is the charm. With all new lawn mowers you still have to take them apart to lube the gears, ( metal on plastic needs luble ) I will write back in a few months the let everyone know how its doing.
...

After searching for a few months, I opted for the Snapper and am pleased overall and feel I got the best mower for the money I spent. Pros.Heavy duty deck,Ball bearing wheels. Bag fills to capacity,Variable speed is easy to operate(one finger), Super fast, will literally pull you all over the yard if you let it. Good Mulching, adequate power, relatively quiet, starts first or second pull, easy wheel adjustment, comfortable handle with kill lever inset into handle.
Cons. Bumpy on thin lawns due to distance between front and rear wheels and the handle/deck connection has no tolerance(give, play). Small fuel tank. Not great for trimming because the deck and wheels are aligned....

I was really pleased to buy an American-made Snapper mower as the first mower for my new home. I am a new homeowner, and this is our first mower, but I've spent years mowing lawns in the past. As such, cutting lawns is not new for me. Here are my thoughts after two seasons of using this product.

I got the mower home, filled it with oil, and was please that it started on the first pull. Pleased, I pushed the mower to the corner of the garage to find that the front wheel popped off before even using the thing. At first I thought "it's just a bolt or screw", but was sad to find that a spot-weld on the front axle was broken. I was faced with the choice of bringing it back to Sears or taking it into a Snapper dealer and waiting to have it fixed. Problem is that I have no large vehicle to take it back, and I didn't want to wait it out. So I buckled down and just bought a replacement part from Sears Parts (Yeah. Probably not the most practical idea). But it was either a tradeoff of wasting my......

I've had my mower for over a month now and overall I am impressed. Easy starting, usually starts on the first pull, so far never more than the second pull has been required to get it started.

I like the single handle to raise or lower the cutting deck. I'm not so thrilled with the speed control grip but it is easy to modulate.

Overall, I think it is a good value for dollar and as others have pointed out, it is Made in America, and that is an important factor in these troubled times....

I hadn't bought a walk behind mower since 1995, but my Toro finally came to the end of its road. Naturally after such a good experience I decided to buy another Toro from a Sears competitor. Brought it home, same motor as the Snapper, but was shocked by how lightly built the Toro was. I didn't like the self-propel control on the Toro and it just didn't seem like it would hold up. I returned it and began to look again. I found this model at Sears brought it home and had it out of the box and assembled in about ten minutes. The motor fired and ran on the first pull. The deck, wheels (all with bearings) blade..... everything seemed much sturdier. I decided to check out the specifications on these mowers. The new Toro weighs 80 pounds, the lowest priced Honda 83 lbs, the Lawn Boy 77 pounds. The Snapper comes in 106. This extra weight in my opinion goes into the materials that make up the deck and handles all of which are much sturdier feeling. As I said all but the Honda come with the same......

Thanks to all those who take time to write reviews. I can confirm that the many positive reviews of the Snapper 190CC RWD mower are accurate. However, I think it's important to put some perspective around the pros and cons of the mower so that you don't get home with uncalibrated or unrealistic performance expectations. I mulch 15,000 square feet of dense Kentucky bluegrass, 60% flat and 40% hill. Here are the important pros and cons, from my perspective.

- Built like a tank and cleary a step above anything Craftsman offers.
- But it's heavy. Pay attention to the reviewer that talked about trying to mow up from drainage ditch. If you do that or mow hills, the combination of the weight and RWD is going to give you a fine upper and lower body workout.
- Assembles in under 10 minutes and the 1-page instruction sheet is very easy to follow, The 18oz included oil bottle had leaked all over the box which was a hassle.
- Starts on first pull everytime and runs quietly, but its no economizer on......

This is the 1st non commercial mower I've owned that can actually mow at a pace that like. For the money it is a bargain. The cut is good and it has started 1st pull for two month of use. Even my teen son wants to use it when I ask him to mow. I've got a couple larger walk behind's and a rider, but he likes the 21" Snapper.
As for it being locked up when you pull it back. I've found that if you release the drive lever just before it comes to a stop, it will easily roll back....

I bought this lawn mower due to the high ratings and the brand name, however, I was very disappointed with the product. The first one I bought came to be with a broken gear shifter, which was made out of a flimsy plastic. The paint on the engine was already coming off...it was some sort of cheat spray on. After returning it and getting a new one, I soon realized many of the important parts on the lawnmover were made from thin cheap plastic such as: gear box and shifter, engine cover, front pannels, wheels, ect... If you bump into something such as a large rock or a curb, you'd probably crack the front of the mower. Its a poor design and a disappointment. I ended up returning the mover and purchasing a different brand that wasn't made so cheaply....
