I bought the Playstation 3 for one game Heavy Rain, 3 years later its finally out along with God of War III. These two games with no multiplayer support are the best of the best for the PS3. Graphically superior to anything on the market. This is what all PS3 games should be like but sadly its not. If you want the best multiplayer has to offer you go with the Xbox 360 and all its faults. PS3 is the hardest company to work for and easily the hardest machine to make games on, for reasons the are best discussed in other places. I own both systems with my xbox having 200 games that I own and my PS3 having 10 games. Quality over quantity on the PS3 for me its a great system that I love watching blu-rays on and a few hardcore games. Playstation has some great features like its wireless its free to go on the internet as long as you have a service. We bought the ps3 a few years back when it first came out and it has come a long way. The graphics are great and the games look like moviesw when u play them. Another great aspect is watching blu ray movies...the crispness and the sound is great. We bought the one that is backwards compatible and will play the ps2 games even though we dont we still have that option.

My husband got this system for Christmas and within two weeks we were calling Playstation to send it in for service. They were great about it - which is why I chose 3 stars over 1 - however i must say for only having the system a short time, my husband wasn't too happy with it breaking down! He's had it back a month and its doing fine. Im really thankful I bought the extended warranty!! Overall he's happy with the playing and screen quality. I dont see many games on this system for kids though.

The Playstation 3 is the most powerful gaming system on the market today. It also is the most power hungry. At peak energy use times is uses as much energy as 5 refrigerators! And, while over the last few seasons the game selection has gotten better there are still genres with a very light selection. Although the online component is free it is lacking in some major ways. The community feel of Xbox Live is absent. Home is a joke and the friend list and matchmaking are nearly non-functional. You get what you pay for. It feels very much like PC online multi-player.

Technically the PS3 is powerful and amazing. Games like MGS4 and MAG really show off the systems power but it is still lacking in many ways. It has room to grow. Hopefully Sony pulls from its vast library and brings back some older franchises (new Sly Cooper game, or how about Ico 2?) to make the system feel more whole.

I bought this because everyone said that the 80GB PS3's can play the older PS2/PS1 games. Well, only the early PS3's can, and apparently not mine! I still like it though. You can go online right on your TV, watch HD movies and of course play PS3 games with it. The graphics are amazing and the games almost look like movies. But to me, it's not worth the price tag. Buy a Wii instead....

The Sony Playstation 3 is the best entertainment system ever created!

I admit the game library is not that of the Xbox 360, but the PS3 is so much more. The PS3 has built in Wi-Fi, so you don't have to run a cable for the internet. It has a built in web browser. It has 4 usb 2.0 ports. It takes SD, Compact Flash, and MemoryStick/duo camera cards. You can rent and buy movies online from the Playstation Network. 1 HDMI port. No power cord "power block" to hide. Plays music and pictures. You can even play video's right off of a memory card or usb memory stick AND save it to the 80 GB hard drive. I like to make home video's and watch them on my tv. It is also Blutooth compatible for headsets, remoted, keyboards, etc. My favorite part is not only does it play DVD's it is the ONLY system that plays HD movies due to HD DVD's failure. There is alot more built in I didn't list!

I know some may buy one for just a game system and be dissapointed by the amount of games. ......

Got the 80 gig version with Metal Gear Solid 4 and two Dualshock 3 controllers. AWSOME!!!!!! I have played videogames all my life, starting with ColecoVision and ending up here. This thing blows my mind. I love my PS3. My wife even likes it....

The playstation 3 is a great product! I would highly recommend this for anyone! The graphics look so real, with having higher capacity discs we get more for the price and a better quality! I really think that this game has the best graphics of any console gaming unit! The Playstation 3 also has a built in blu-ray player for the best movie experience, it looks almost like you are there. You can also watch regular dvds in the ps3, it also makes the quality of regular dvds better. I recommend you buy the 80GB console because then you can also play all of your ps2 and ps1 games, you can't play them on a 40Gb or 60 Gb. All controllers made for this console are wireless so you don't have to worry about your controller coming unplugged or anyone tripping over the cords anymore. If you have internet and hook a router to your computer then you can also get on the internet with your playstation, there is also a wireless keyboard that you can buy it! The Playstation......
