I'm not sure if this is a product error or just in need of an update.  I also had to go to the Tom Tom website to update everything; it wouldn't load the program onto my computer at first.  It IS clear and easy to read, and it lets you know ahead of time which lane you need to be in so you can make your next turn.</p>... Also, I use it all the time for longer trips and trips out of state. It will reroute you, give you alternate directions, judge by distance or by time, and there is a place for favorites. However, if it is not currently at the location where it was turned off, it takes a minute for the satellites to find its location but from there it's fine. Sometimes it can say you've reached your destination and you still have to look for it, but at least it has the correct side of the road. It's a handy device and even my dad got one when he saw how useful mine was for me.</p>... I have had my Tom Tom for over a month and used it at least every other day and it hasn't steered me wrong, not once. I like the way I can save my favorite addresses and it keeps the ones in memory just in case I need them in the future. I haven't had to use it out of the state of VA but I'm sure it would probably be just as reliable in any other state. I like the way I can download points of interest that I'm interested in....
