After looking at dozens of stands of all kinds and styles I realized that all of them are very heavy and require assembly. What drew me to this stand were its cleans lines and relatively light weight, if 70 lbs in the box is light. Most of the weight is the three glass shelves. I am an older person and this is a lot of weight for me. I found assembly and cleanup took about an hour and half. I am careful to read and follow the instructions. They were fairly clear and all the bolts and bits came packaged and marked "A", "B", "C" etc. and they matched up nicely with the illustrations. When I was done I was quite satisfied with the look and strudiness of this stand. It is contemporary in style but doesn't look like some sort of industrial shelving or super futuristic design. It fits in with my more traditional furnishings without looking too out of place. I am very satisfied with this purchase in all respects.... It is very sturdy, the shelf heights are perfect, and it was not difficult to assemble. The dark tempered glass is really nice. I set the stand in a corner with a 42" lcd tv mounted above it.
