This is the best converter box I have seen yet, it is just great. build strong and works good, this picks up more channels then other converter boxes I have seen or own. And is easy to use, It has a TV power button on the remote. The on screen menu is very easy to use and laid out well, not hard to use or operate like others. Would recommend this converter box to anyone that needs one....

This unit was highly rated at Consumer Reports and rightly so because it has a great picture and sound (it was set to mono by default but it's easy to change using the menus and I believe you have to use the line-out jacks on the back of the unit). The only flaw I've found so far is the program guide. It only lists the show that's currently being aired and one upcoming show per channel and it only displays one channel at a time. Also, it will only display program information AFTER you tune to that channel so you'll have to flip through them all first. The best program guide I've seen so far is with the Dish Network TR-40CRA. It has to download program info when you turn it on but it's for all the channels you can receive and for several hours in advance. The Zenith's universal remote was really easy to program. You hold a button down and repeatedly press another one until your TV turns on or off....

This is an excellent converter box. I gladly purchased this item at Kmart and I bought 2 converter boxes. This one works the best. It is easiest to use, good looking, really good compared to the Magnavox one I also own. I would also like to mention that they were the same price. For the money, even though I used two government coupons, this was the best run for the money. Anyone that needs a tuner should head over to there Kmart or Sears store, and get this one. You will not be sorry that you did. I wasn't.

Easiest, non-time consuming converter out there. I thought it was going to be a struggle. But really in no time I was Converted. The zoom feature is really clear and doesn't make your picture abnormal. Only bad thing is the sleep timer. Once you set it for sleep it's programmed each day for sleep. If you are watching in the middle of the day the converter will go off but the TV stays on a goes to FUZZ. You have to manually take the sleep timer off each day. But it's a lot cheaper than cable....

Had it hooked up in 2 or 3 minutes, scan was quick and intuitive, channels look great, only time I had to read instructions was to match Zenith remote to my old TV - which was easiest ever (just hold button and click channel switch till power went off - it was ready). Zoom also works great - and works on per channel basis, so I like that....

I had already purchased two APEX DTV converter boxes. I got the APEX because it was the only brand that offered s-video cable connect, which is supposed to give a higher quality video than the standard A/V cables. This unit has problems hanging onto the digital signal. I can see the signal strength fluctuate greatly and the picture quality vary also. I live by an airport and the APEX unit cannot hang onto the digital signal. Every time an airplane goes by, the picture frags and freezes. The Zenith unit appears to be immune to airplane interference and really hangs onto the digital signal. I can see the signal strength vary a little but the TV program remains uninterrupted. The Zenith's auto-scan picked up more stations than the auto-scan on the APEX and acquired at least one channel that the APEX could not ... and would not even when I attempted to manually select it. Even though the Zenith unit has only the standard A/V cable hookups, the picture quality is excellent and way better than......

I just picked this up yesterday and with the government $40 coupon only had to pay $9.99. I also bought an indoor Philips UHF/VHF antenna for $14.99 and hooked them both up last night in minutes to a very old 13" Sony analog color TV. I'm EXTREMELY pleased as the picture quality is outstanding and I'm now able to receive far more channels than ever before. Also, this TV never had a remote control and the converter box comes with one that provides me with convenience and features (menus, picture orientation, time, favorite channels, etc) never available to me before. Since I just bought it, I can't comment on durability, but can't see why it would be an issue. It also has a nice light on the front of the unit to tell you if it's on or off (red=off, blue=on). I'm planning to try hooking it up to a 52" big screen Mitsubishi HDTV to see how the reception comes in on a bigger screen. I'd love to dump cable TV and go back to the days of FREE television. Only thing is I wouldn't get my sports......

The reason I bought this unit was because I remember this one got the highest rating somewhere. I just bought 2 units of Zenith DTT901 from Sears. After coupon discount, I paid about $13+. Setup was easy. In particular the cables were easy plug-in types. It works like magic. Before this converter, I picked up several fuzzy channels. Now, with this converter, amazingly I got 14 clear channels. The remote control works with both the converter and TV set, so I now need just one small remote. With this remote, there is no need to subscribe to cable or satellite unless you have a lot of time to kill. I highly recommend this converter....

I just picked up the converter box. It was very, very simple to install and set up. Good picture, good value. Would definitely recommend this product....
