In the interest of full disclosure, I will say I love comics, and hate Wolverine. That said, I still feel I can review this movie objectively.

While it certainly is a terrible comic-based movie, the real failure is that it is a terrible movie, period. A lot of action happens, much of it CG, and all of it very poor looking. The disjointed narrative is intented to give depth, but really just serves to be a big, jumbled mess to serve as a backdrop for the action set pieces. This isn't a film, it's a mint, designed to print money for the people involved. It spits in the face of comic fans, X-Men movie fans, and general movie fans alike because it manages to be awful, without at least being fun. The X-Men character cameos weren't even of interest because of the terrible ways they were used.

I may be bitter, from a nerdy perspective, but just as a film fan, nerd tendencies not withstanding, I can't recomend this movie. If you need Wolverine in your life that badly, try X-Men 2. ...

Ok, to start off I am a fan of Wolverine and his comics so I will say that this movie is not following any specific story line. That being said any "fan boy" that throws a hissy fit and does not like a movie based on its "accuracy" has bigger issues.

This is a good movie and one that is worth seeing. My wife and I watched this movie together in the theater and bought it when I came out. It is a solid action movie that is centered on one of Marvel Comics main stays. The acting is good, the plot (while not accurate) is good and the casting of characters is good. I would encourage you to check out this movie, its worth your time.

X-men Wolverine Origins is a great movie, but only for the type of people who can enjoy this type of movie. And by this type I mean the action packed, Michael Bay type movies. Hugh Jackson is a great actor and I can't imagine anyone else playing Wolverine. However, the movie isn't for people looking for plot heavy story telling. Additionally, comic books fans and fans of the original movie might be offended at how many liberties the movie takes in regards to the canon. So to actually enjoy this movie you gotta go in with the right attitude of just watching this movie to have fun and as a standalone from any existing stories on Wolverine. If you do that you will have a fun time watching this movie though!
