rdginto says "Never had one but now can't be without one" about Cuisinart Plus Food Processor

I actually won a recipe contest in our local newspaper and rec'd a gift certificate of which I purchased a 7 cup Cuisinart food processor, something I never had before. LOVE IT !! Since I like to eat and ultimately love to cook, honestly have no idea why I spent all the time before cutting up stuff when I could use this neat machine. It sits on my counter along with my VitaMix and FoodSaver. It's very easy to clean. I would recommend reading the instruction booklet and viewing the video/DVD if you've never used one before - if nothing else for safety reasons and so you don't break the container trying to remove it from the machine. Have fun with it.
...

rdginto says "Another GREAT product !!" about Foodsaver Vacuum FoodSaver Advanced Design

Ok .. our last foodsaver (the 550 model which is probably about 10 years old) finally bit the dust a couple weeks back. We bought one of the "newest" models that sits upright (for lack of better words), where you have to put the bag in the front slot to seal it. Well, what a pain. I really preferred my older model without all the gadgets, bells and whistles so I returned that one and looked around for a not so new model. We ended up purchasing ours on line *******, but Sams has the same type) and it is a model V2830. We have loved it from the moment we took it from the box and started using it. It works in the similar fashion as our old model), sitting down on the counter and you have to lift the lid to fit the bags in the canal to make or seal the bag. The overflow chamber is easy to remove and simple to clean. You have control of starting the machine and can stop it if you want to, to avoid crushing delicate foods. We keep ours on the counter and pretty much use it daily. Anytime...
...

rdginto says "Great storage system" about Foodsaver Vacuum Canisters, 3 pc. Set

So .. I love anything FoodSaver makes and the storage canisters are no different. I am growing black beans and after drying them in my food dehydrator I put them in the FoodSaver canister and "seal" it until I have enough beans to make something with. Great way to keep them fresh until I'm ready to use them. I've also used the canisters for marshmellows ... which keeps them fresh between uses. Cookies, dry pastas, chips. No complaints at all.
...

rdginto says "Awesome product for those who love to garden!" about Aero Garden

I received an AeroGarden as a Christmas present .. put in the pods on Xmas day and my herb garden is already sprouting !! I can't wait until we have fresh herbs. The only thing I wish I would have done was perhaps added in a pod or two of a veggie. I didn't realize at the time I could have done that...after reading several different websites with reviews I'll try it the next set of pods. Ask me in a few weeks how I still like the AeroGarden!...

rdginto says "Bowflex Treadclimber took some time to get used to!" about Bowflex Treadclimber Treadmill

Ok, so my body doesn't look like the woman who is on the Treadclimber infomercials. I haven't gotten those "six pack" abs or developed those amazing legs. When we first bought this I was definitely excited but soon learned I had to actually change the way I walked ... otherwise by butt was going to be flung backwards and I'd be face first smacking my head on the bottom end of the machine!!! There are separate treddles ... one for each foot. Your feet must be pointed in front (you can't duck walk this) otherwise this machine is not the one for you. It took me several weeks to be able to walk just on the treadmill portion of this without stumbling and holding onto the handles. After finally getting used to the change I made it to the treddles moved up and down in the stepping fashion. Now I had to learn not to step so hard otherwise I was making the treddle pound hard against the bottom.

I've had my machine now about three years. I would suggest everyone who purchases...
...

rdginto says "Everyone needs a FoodSaver" about Foodsaver

Like the Vitamix, my Aunt gave me my FoodSaver and this is one of two appliances we keep on our kitchen counter and use every day. We love fresh fruit but seasonal fruits can be very expensive if not in season. For instance we love blueberries so at the peak of blueberry season this year we picked 18 pounds of blueberries. Now mind you we gave some away to our elderly neighbors but for the other 16 pounds we kept I laid them out on a cookie sheet and froze them, then sucked them down using my FoodSaver. We now will have blueberries throughout until next season. I do this for peaches and pears, mangos and papaya and then for Xmas I make bread using different fruits in it to give as gifts. By using "fruit fresh" on the fruit before I freeze it, the fruit does not discolor so it looks just as fresh when I'm thawing it .. if I would want it for dessert instead. We purchase our meats in bulk and separate them to individual portions and freeze them (marking what it is and the...
...

rdginto says "The Vitamix is amazing!!" about Vitamix Blender - 5000 Variable Speed

My Aunt gave me her old Vitamix many years ago. This was when they were made very heavy and the blender jar was stainless. Back then that machine was amazing. What was wierd though is I never knew I owned a Vitamix. I would go to home shows and in Costco and see the demonstrations and thought "wow, what a great machine". Mine had different buttons on it, actually I believe it was a turn knob with an on/off switch. I dug mine from the back of the counter and looked at it and discovered I actually owned one of those amazing machines I kept seeing. The next home show I went to I again watched them make smoothies and soup and I asked about a trade in on my old unit and was surprised that they actually did that. I bought the new unit and In about a week's time received in the mail the paperwork to fill out to send back my old unit. I can't remember what I paid for shipping but it really wasn't too much but for buying it at the home show I got a huge discount, they threw...
...
