I'm a former Sears customer who is absolutely APPALLED by the censoring of negative comments by the so-called "Sears Cares" adminstrators of this site.  I posted a comment last month about being victimized by a delivery rebate scam that has been mentioned numerous times here.  My message was removed within 24 hours after being posted.  I've also seen other negative feedback and comments by others about Sears removed for no reason other than they reveal the truth regarding Sears' horrendous customer service.  Please, Sears Crew, if you don't want to hear the truth about your shoddy customer service, don't bother logging on to this discussion board,  After my rebate nightmare, I will NEVER, EVER buy anything from Sears again.  Circuit City treated their customers like garbage, too, and look where it got THEM!

That's horrible!!  It is NOT right to be censoring like that.  People come on here for the truth.  That's why I'm here.

The only things that are censored/removed (in general) are:

  • profanity
  • confidential/personal information
  • threats of violence or personal harm
  • spam (repetitive harrassing posts and/or advertisements)

Is it possible your post contained any of those things?

Hi MrJaiali,

SearsCares is actually here to help members with any product or service issues. They are not an administrator of the site and do not do any moderation of any kind. They are strictly here to help with Sears customer service.

If you have any questions about this site, please review our Terms of Service.

Go to any other business or merchant site and try to find  a forum like this where anyone can say good things or rant and rave about their business or how they operate. Complain at any other store and your complaint goes into cyber space.  If Sears did not want to hear it they could of pulled the plug on it, citing economic reasons.

I've not seen Sears censor.  However I know for a fact that Kohls is censoring heavily on their Facebook pages...Now there's a group there called NoKohls in my stocking lol

Thanks for your input to this thread and for raising the question, MrJaialai. We do not want our community members to feel as if they are being censored as that is in no way our goal nor our philosophy on this site. We do monitor content and remove posts that infringe upon our Terms & Conditions or on our Discussion Board Guidelines.

Courtney provided the link to the Terms & Conditions above; the Discussion Board Guidelines are available in the top left of this page, right under the search box.

Our purpose for this community is to hear from our customers - both the good and the bad - so that we can improve every day.

I'm a long-time Sears customer and cardholder and, based on my experience, am willing to give the benefit of the doubt to Sears with respect to good faith in dealing with service complaints.  However, responsive service must be proven everyday.  Today, for example, my 9 attempts (and counting) to reach a Sears Home Appliances specialist at (800) 803-6712 regarding a potential purchase of an oven has been met with busy signals.  I'll keep trying, but my patience is beginning to wane.  There's a Warehouse Discount Center just down the street from the Sears location and they don't seem to have any difficulty answering phone calls.  What up?

It's funny how this was taken in as a complaint and now switched to a censor issue. Whether or not Mr. Jaialai said any profanity he had a problem. It could have bben crossed out in stead of deleted. But I am hear to tell you that Sears customer service/repair department is down right awlful. We have a family of 7 (new baby included) and I never knew how important my dryer was. It has been a month without a dryer because of bad customer service and lack of caring for their customers. If Sears would get people here in the States jobs to answer phones instead of shipping it out to foreigners things might get better. One thing is for sure though I will NEVER buy a Sears product ever again. I am telling all my freinds as well. I have never been treated this badly by a service that I paid for in my intire life! Even when I talk to a manager there is no hope. Please people don't get a way from the real issue. Customer service and Repairs do not meet customer satisfaction. They get a zero from me!

I've had a whole "thread" removed from the board.

And, I didn't swear or noth'n.

That's why my posts are shorties, right now.

I have been censored for what "could be misconstrued as Sears bashing".

No profanity, no personal info, no spam (though it can be tasty), and simply an intelligent, well thought out, lucid post.

Pardon me...

Hey!

Look out for that lucidity...

My well thought out posts were also "taken away".

The good news, I'm... not even sure what they were about (short-term memory).

So, they're all the way gone.

Well if they were censoring I doubt this topic would still be up ;)

Unless, they want to quantify the fact they say that they don't...

yea the last time someone was spamming a complaint about something similar i told the mods to leave one copy up to stop him from starting over so i could see them leaving this up in an effort to keep 100 more posts like it form poping up

Wow!

There are ALL SORTS of negative comments on this board.

If something negative were being censored, would anyone really notice its being gone.

I lost a whole thread... that a "mod" suggested I start.

LOL!

If you think your post "might" be censored, maybe keeping the thread short and succinct might reduce the possible lost time in your virtual creation?
