LockedCraftsman Tools

To the people who like Craftsman tools like me but are disgusted in the direction Sears took. Look at Garage sales, estate sales, and the internet sites such as Ebay and Craigslist. There are always people selling things tools there. You get the great tools, craftsman especially if the hand tools and you still get the guarantee. The power tools as long as they were made pre 1995, the reason that is when Red China was given Most Favorable Nation status at that time.

I was a Sears fan until my Kenmore refrigerator died after 8 years. I was going to buy a wood chipper from Sears, now  will buy from another company. Now I will buy craftsman hand tools, second hand.

In the marketing matrix (for your MBA folks out there) there comes a time when the customer relationship must be terminated by the company instead of by the customer.  Considering you are disruptive and apparently only want Sears to hand over a new refrigerator to you, I think it is time Sears terminated their relationship with you.

Appliances break -- get used to it.  Sears probably offered to extend your MPA which you chose not to do (or you never bought one to begin with).  Now after 8 years  you want a new one.  How do they know lightning didn't strike it and kill the compressor?  If you had bought an MPA you would be covered -- but you didn't, so how is that Sears fault?  Stop blaming Sears for your own short sightedness.

You know, I got an old Craftsman gasoline blowtorch from my wife's grandmother's house, and it's got to be at least 50 years old. I dare not fire that bad boy up, but it looks like it should still work. Sears honors its warranty 100%, regardless of the age, or provenance, of the tools in question. If it's a guaranteed forever hand tool, it can be fixed or replaced at no charge at any Sears store. What a great policy!

Amen to that.  That is why our hoses, garden tools, auto tools and home tools all say Craftsman on it.  They break, Sears replaces it without question.  You talk to anyone out there and Craftsman is considered "quality".

Absolutely!!!! Last year I went through 4 shovels.  Could you imagine what that would cost if I had to pay for it each time!!!!!  I would rather pay a little more the first time and never have to worry about it again.  I will admit I have some "second hand" tools, a warranty is a warranty.

There are a few things that abundantly clear from thjis post and responses; first this customer decided he will no longer use Sears, second the response from the rstinett is a little late the customer is gone, third Sears has too many employees similar to rstinnett, speak before they think, forth if Sears does not start correcting that behavior they will lose more market share.

When is come to the most respected retailers Sears is not in the top ten. Sears used to be number one. The problem now is Sears runs as Kmart. Kmart at one time was also a leader, now they are the bottom of the discounters and in that case they took Sears down with them.

About buying craftsman tools I like the idea of buying them second hand and not doing business with Sears until they work out the problems with Kmart and the other brands and become Sears.

I don't want to hear from Julie K or the other women who states give Sears another chance. Sears was the best at retail and they blew it. Actions speak louder than words. If you want to be a leader act like one and make sure their quality is in the product. It is clear there are too many complaints about products not lasting as long as expected but still being sold at the same prices as products of better quality. Sears bettter stop living off it laurels!

I think that the original poster on this thread needs to get a life. This person is STILL complaining about their 8 year old fridge that died! From previous posts they have made, it seems like Sears has gone above and beyond to try to please this person in regards to the fridge but they just will not give up.

I have said it in other posts, I will say it again.  If I were in the appliance sales business, not even I would take back your 8-year-old dead fridge.  And as I have also said in another post, seek life elsewhere.  "GAME OVER" said the arcade game.

How does a Kenmore refrigerator have ANYTHING to do with a Craftsman Chipper/Shredder?

Apples and oranges.

My Craftsman chipper/shredder works great.

I just need to figure out how to get it to eat more Pine needles, without choking.

:)
