LockedHi, I'm new here...

Well, not sure what to put here....

I am a SAHM of 2 kids, a step-mom to 1 teen and a Army Wife.

I don't make it to the stores very often, mostly online shopping. It is easier for me since I don't like big cities and driving in them scare me. I am originally from Fort Hood, TX. My father is Retired Army. I have 2 brothers that were Army, 1 that was Air Force, and 1 that is a chef. I have a half-brother as well but we don't know where he is. My parents are my bestfriends and my heroes....along with my husband who is deployed to Iraq right now for 15 months. We are over the one year mark now, so that is good.

Not much else to say. I am a crafty person and love working with my hands. I also love cooking and baking when I can.

If you have any questions just ask. Hopefully I can drop in now and then since the kids are home for Christmas Break right now.

Hi Shelle! Welcome to the community! How amazing that so many people in your family have dedicated themselves to our country!

I am also a BIG fan of shopping online and consider myself more on the creative side. What sort of things do you like to work on? I'm always looking for new ideas for things to keep me busy!!

Thanks!! Yes we are a total Military family. I tried 3 times to get into the Army. 1st time was a mess up with the Recruiter. The 2nd & 3rd time I found out I was prego. Go figure. It just wasn't meant to be for me....but I married a wonderful man and support him every way I can.

I actually have my own little business...just not many customers. For that, as of right now, I make dreamcatchers (over 20 yrs experience), scented bath salts and diaper cakes for expecting mothers. I also do digital art and try to sell those as well.

For fun, I do scrapbooking, beadwork, cross stitch, and anything else I can get my hands on. Some people told me I should go into the cooking/baking business but that would require lots of focus, more people helping me, a good place to work out of besides my kitchen and all of the wonderful accessories I don't have the money for. Being Military that isn't an option I would want to explore at this time. When we retire then it might be an option.

Hi, hope you are doing well today. Supporting a milatary member is often as difficult as being in the service. I'm retired Navy, we, the service members get a well defined environment with all the rules spelled out. Family members are often left feeling a little blind and isolated. But you are there, have watched it with your family, so I'm not saying anything new. Take care.

Shelle,

Keep those cards and letters from you and your love ones going to your husband as well as the care packages. Not sure if you know but you can go to the Post Office and pick up a flat rate mailing box for whatever you can stuff in it. The price of the shipping is a flat rate and much cheaper than ohter US Mail rates. Ship the package to his fleet PO and the goodies will get to your husband and his brothers and sisters in arms. My thoughts and prayers will be for your love one as well as you and your family. We as Americans, have a debt that can never be repaid  to individuals such as your husband and those who have served before him and are serving now.. Their service allows us to have our precious freedoms that so many take for granted both in the US and abroad. Unless one has served, one will really know what our service personal give up. As a father of a Marine, who is back from Iraq and is now out of the service I have seen a  small part of what our brave men and women give up fo us and the oppresed round the world. If you would permit me to offer some advise it would be to pray daily for your love one and his comrades as well as pray when ever your heart tells you to. I can remember pulling over on the side of the roadside and stopping and praying as well as praying as I drove on the way to work. Did not mean get so personal but our men and women in service are part of our/my family. While they are doing what our country ask of them around the world we must always be faithful and take care of our homefront.

Tell your husband hello from America.

Thank you for your words. They do mean a lot. As of right now the letters and care packages have stopped, as his 15 month deployment is soon to end. We do have faith and I pray for him, my family in service still and my extened family of the Army. Military is my life, even if I am not the one wearing the uniform. Being brought up as a Army Brat made me have the faith that I hold now.

Having people support the troops....and even us, the families, is wonderful to know. Thank you.

Hi, Just found this site and joined. I've worked at three different Kmarts in three different states over the span of 20 years. A very enjoyable experience and I love to shop and I love to help people shop.
