LockedHow is this "economy" effecting you?

Depending on your situation this may be kind of a personal question.  My wife's bonuses at work were cut, there goes my tool budget and her shopping budget.  I know most people have it a lot worse.  It is suppose to get even worse before it gets better.  I hear one common theme, people still want to spend a little money on their wants and do.

Well, personally, my income is direectly affected by the economy, because the more people spend, the more money I make. For the last few months, consumer spending has been down significantly. We had a burst of about 6 weeks around tax time, and then it dropped back down. *sigh*

I bet a lot of folks are staying home more this summer than in years past. I know we aren't taking any vacations this year-maybe a little camping on the weekends here and there, but that's it.

Or 4 in 5 are working. Here, its more like 9 in 10 or 11 in 12. Good deals buying cars, boats, houses, vacations... buying in general, and waiting for even better deals, and better coupons.

Yeah, I guess we should have kept the Republicans in power.  Oh wait, they are the ones who got us into this mess in the first place.

none off those jerks in DC are looking out for us. we need to clean house and not allow any attorneys into political roles.  And if you dont think the Democrats had any thing to do with this mess you need to take you head outta your ****.

My business is doing great!  I will not tolerate poor service because someone is preocupied that they are not making the same income as before, that is not my problem. Companies have to stop cutting corners and make customer whole.

With what I have seen on this page and the issues I have had with Sears. Sears Holdings better go to Six Sigma method of dealing with SNAFU's. There are too many incompentent people working at Sears, that need to be put out on the street.  That has to start at the top.

The economy right now is affecting everyone, I come from a tourist town, and much of our business up here depends on people going on vacation, what I don't understand is if the economy is so bad, why are they also giving us a double whammy and raising gas prices at the same time, gas around us is already reaching close to 3dollars a gallon, this is going to really affect how many vacations peope take.

Well, I really enjoied watching Nancy unviel the statue of Ronald Reagan last week. Reminded me of a man of integrity who said what he ment and then backed it up, it's time for this country to stand up for what is right and take matters into our own hands and act responsibly.

my husband lost his job right before the economy went bad, but still hasn't been able to find a job. we lost our house and are currently living out of our fold-out camper with our belongings in storage until my husband can find a job and we can save enough money for an apartment.
