LockedLose Your Job? Sears Pays For Your Appliances

Need another reason to shop at Sears?  Saw this today... very cool.

Even if you lose your job, you'll at least get to keep that Kenmore washer-dryer under a new program launched by Sears.

The Illinois-based retailer has announced it will modify payment agreements on new appliances purchased between July 6 and Aug. 1 if consumers are laid off -- as long as they spent at least $399 and put the items on a Citibank-issued Sears credit card.

One-twelfth of the purchase price will be credited to shoppers' accounts for every month they are unemployed. Those who are jobless more than a year will have the full debt forgiven. Sears officials said they might extend the offer if it proves popular.

We just got the training materials for this program a couple days ago. It's great to see Sears taking a leadership role among retailers in giving customers a renewed sense of security and support.

sounds like someone was watching the car  commercials where they have been offering the same kinda "deal" for the last couple months and came up with a decent citibank credit card promo for  july

guess the hbc (or what ever the other ones called) users are out of luck

Thanks for the post, rstinnett.  These are hard times for many-it is great to hear Sears is stepping up and doing something to help out.
